Re-taking this. It's annoying because some of the questions depend on what alignements the people involved are. Poison a king? For free if he's evil, never if he's good. Is my nation a good or an evil place? Is the hostile power good or evil? Only lawful good would perceive any violation of trust as an unacceptable means; chaotic good can violate people's trust left, right and centre if it results in the best outcome.

I got Chaotic Good, anyway.

Having some questions positively or negatively impact 'neutrality', rather than neutrality being a lack of a clear preference for one of the corner points, is a bit odd.

Even if its from a game, i think this alignment system describes something real, in terms of morality and political systems.

I'm mainly lawful good, chaotic good and chaotic neutral, with the last seeming to be more natural and the rest being a product of environment. I want to be neutral good, because principles don't work when faced with the improbabilities of reality but chaos is not an option as well, but its difficult to meander from a default alignment, similar to how it is difficult to change dispostions. I dislike lawful neutral, lawful evil and chaotic evil.

I hate the alignment system when it's just a stick to beat people with.

The Pathfinder game I'm playing focuses more on the Traits and Aspects systems, where your character has a few key traits that will influence their behavior in situations and if you play your traits/aspects even when inconvenient, then you receive bonus points that you can later spend to ensure a more positive outcome for a future action. So you get positive rewards for sticking with your character's personality even when it might create some problems.

However, chaotic neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it seeks to eliminate all authority, harmony, and order in society.

True Neutral- A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. Tied between Chaotic Good and Neutral Good. Mostly Chaotic however, considering the only word or law I uphold is my own.

Chaotic Good- A chaotic good character acts as his conscience directs him with little regard for what others expect of him. He makes his own way, but he's kind and benevolent. He believes in goodness and right but has little use for laws and regulations. He hates it when people try to intimidate others and tell them what to do. He follows his own moral compass, which, although good, may not agree with that of society. Chaotic good is the best alignment you can be because it combines a good heart with a free spirit. However, chaotic good can be a dangerous alignment because it disrupts the order of society and punishes those who do well for themselves.

Neutral Good- A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them.
