How did you find out that you were INTP or other type? I was asked questions at a job interview that sounded like a test, so I Googled "personality test" and found that the MB questions sounded a lot like those at the interview. A few days into the job, I asked my boss (who had done the interview) if she had been looking for INTP's, she just smiled.

Well, it was for a programming job in a four-man IT department at a fashion clothing retail chain. I worked there two years, and know for a fact they don't have the knowledge or experience to properly judge IT requirements. Using an MBTI was probably their best bet. It worked out OK all around, but even though I was the only INTP there, I and the other guys I worked with were basically looked at like aliens from another planet. In a good way, though....

Do you have any pets?

9 cats, 2 dogs.

I'd like to have a cat (and a spider and a snake and a monitor lizard. And a horse) as a pet, but I haven't been getting much agreement from my parents on the idea. Something I'll do when I grow up and get a job, I guess.

Took the test. Read the profiles and the threads on this forum.

Do you have a partner/lover?
None that exists in four dimensional space.

Do you have any kids?
None. I find parenting books fun to read though. Tells me about myself.

Do you have any pets?
No, but there's half a cubic meter fish tank sitting in the living room belonging to my dad. The fish in there die all the time so they are frequently replaced. We're probably on the 20th generation now. They seem to be living longer now though.

Which hobbies absorb you the most?
Gaming. Coding. Watching anime.

How do you generate an income?
I am still a filthy dependent.

Hardest thing about INTP?
Just getting something *done* and being of practical use to society. When its important enough I flip that switch in my head and I morph into a istp/istj/estp/estj. Stressful if I keep it on for too long though.

Using the handle Heart Logos, I'm a 55-year-old woman in northern Virginia, near Washington, D.C. I have a partner (male, INFP), a retirement check, a part-time job, a house and cats.

I paid for a Myers-Briggs assessment in about 1983 at a time when I was hoping to get onto a more personally satisfying career path. It didn't help with that directly, but I did learn to understand other types and get along with them better, which was a plus ever afterwards.

Today I found myself thinking that I know no other INTPs personally, except my brother, who lives about 500 miles away and is so busy that we hardly ever talk. I thought: There should be a club! Google turned up this forum.

I've never had a proper job for an INTP. I am not too far away from being an INFP, however, and have switch hit in that style when working as a supervisor or team member. I've faked it in other styles as well: technical writer and editor (INTJ), teacher (ENFP), and even spokesperson (ESTJ). Actually, it was at times enjoyable to be stretched this way, even though the E jobs required a fair amount of recovery time at home daily. I particularly enjoyed working in a team situation that requires different strengths from different people and where new solutions must be improvised.

Forgive me -- I had written a good bit more, but I'm having a little trouble posting on the site. About half of my post just vanished in the editing process, and the formating icons here are not working for me -- I have had to insert paragraphing codes by hand, for instance, which is tedious. So I will leave it at this for the present and finish up another time.

Hi, Dissident! Using Windows 2000/America Online 9.0 . (Dorky, I know, but --long story.) I don't get why there seems to be a problem, 'cuz I've regularly contributed to another forum for years. Another thing is that quotation marks do not come out right in the post. But I can live with this for the time being.

A bit more about me: I like to hike, swim, travel, garden, cook, do needlework, play the piano, and spend too much time on the Internet. But as an INTP, there has to be something a bit weird about me, right? Whenever possible I like to take these things improvisationally. For instance, I spend half my piano time improvising. I don't like to use knitting patterns, I design the projects myself. I don't like guided tours, but prefer to work out my own itinerary, and whenever possible, adjust it en route. I like to prepare historic or theme dinners with friends.

I'm also a fanatic reader and collector of books, mostly used. I will read practically anything, but notably social and economic history, how-to, psychology, classic literature, popular science, whodunits, religion and what for want of a better word I call nut-ball tomes -- flying saucers, talking to plants, conspiracy theories, etc., the odder the better. (I don't dismiss any theory entirely, by the way.)

The other thing I like to do that is a bit weird is to set myself some big, probably insoluble problem (at least by me) and try to solve it nevertheless, which usually turns out to be an interesting and educational process. For example, when the Harry Potter series was coming out, I spent a lot of time tracing herbal references in the books on the theory that they might present some sort of kety to the series. They didn't, but I learned a lot about herbs, alchemy, and the history of witchcraft. I also made some online friends in the process and provided a lot of entertainment for my SO. Right now I'm working on the Phaistos Disk, which is a unique clay disk bearing a spiral text, supposedly dating to maybe 1400 BC. Theories abound, and the thing may well be a fake, but I'm having fun.

Toughest thing for me about being an INTP: I am typically absent-minded and cannot maintain a tidy house or work space to save my life. Any time that I have to spend straightening, sorting, and cleaning up is pure agony. I'm chronically embarrassed about the resulting state of the house, especially in front of J's.

I was actually searching for one of those good old "are you a psychotic" tests, but I randomly stumbled on a Jung test instead.

I took it, read the description of my test result, INTP
and thought "Hey, that fits me pretty well!". Then i read the description of INFP and thought "Hey, that ALSO fits me pretty well!"

So i consider myself an INxP, read why at my blog

Read your blog. The way you type, the way you think (and metacognize) make you a definite "T". The attention to detail is the S/N switch, btw, not a T thing. And you weren't "not paying to detail (well kinda)", you were just paying attention to other detail. You never really described any telltale F traits, and there were a LOT of T ticks. This isn't a bad thing, but I know both INTPs, and INFPs, and you are, probably (there's always a chance I'm mistaken), INTP. Yes, I read your blog. It was interesting. Oh, and there is such a thing as a philanthropic INTP.

Took one of the tests for a class in freshman year of college.

How did you find out about this forum?

A link off the typelogic.com INTP profile.

Do you have a partner/lover?

Nope.

Do you have any kids?

No. One of my biggest future goals but I am not nearly ready for it. That and refer to my response to the previous question.

Do you have any pets?

No. My brother has a yellow lab that I helped raise whom I love dearly though.

Which hobbies absorb you the most?

Listening to or playing music (at least back in the day). Reading...although I never seem to have time for it. Playing sports, especially football a.k.a. soccer. Word games or logic based games like boggle, sudoku, spider solitaire...things like that.

How do you generate an income?

Research Assistantship. I wouldn't call it income but it is enough to get by.

Hardest thing about being INTP?

Where do I start. I am plagued by internal strife. It is as though any decision or course of action is a dilemma, even for seemingly trivial matters. There always seems to be a disparity between wants/desires and somehow compromising something that constitutes who I am. I think as INTPs we seek understanding of the core of our being and it is really frustrating since I am not there yet and it limits the contentment I should/could get out of life.

Thank you for taking your time to read it, and for bringing some clarity by analyzing it. You provided me with some perspective while doing so, and that is rather valuable. I really did not want to trust myself to decide on this one, seeing as how my own perspective of myself would likely distort the rationality of that decision.
But hey, thanks for reinforcing my Feeling (pun intended) about the Thinking being dominant!

The "philanthropic" part of me... well, I base that on logic I think.
My explanation would probably be the following two step approach.
First, in order for humanity to understand the world, I believe that we must be at peace and united. This will stop us from wasting our limited resources on armed conflicts instead of putting them to good use.
It would likely require world peace in order to unite us.

I believe that such an "impossible dream" is necessary for us to reach in order to survive as a species. Rationally, we just can't keep on building bigger and bigger bombs without at the same time risking our biosphere and our species. The mere existence of such weapons is like a loaded gun, just waiting to be triggered by some maniac's emotions and desires.

Secondly, the greater conflicts of humanity can probably ultimately be tracked down to injustices, might-makes-right-ideas and poverty. Thus, it would be wise to eliminate such things by creating a more equal world.
If we create a more stable world, we could put our creativity into more constructive things than suspecting each other. We could build bridges instead of walls.

How did you find out that you were ENTJ?

Test on a dating site, haha! But after that initial test I took about 7 more tests, read everything I could get my hands on and debated every possible decision. The tests were right but I'm not really satisfied with the descriptions available of ENTJs. I suppose I may just be a somewhat non-standard version of one, which is annoying because before MTBI the personality type system I was most fluent with was the enneagram, and 1w2 describes me pretty much to the letter. I think I prefer the enneagram actually, the main thing the MTBI has over it is the focus on relationships and optimum matches, I'm pretty lonely lately.

How did you find out about this forum?

Vulture was on it and I came over and now I just come here when I have nothing to do which is always. I feel strangely out of place as I seem to be far more talkative than anyone else here. It may also be chalked up to the fact that everyone else has something better to do.

Do you have a partner/lover?

No... blast!

Do you have any kids?

No... blast!

Do you have any pets?

No... blast!

Which hobbies absorb you the most?

D&D, team based competitive video games, writing (but it's not really a hobby, it's a developing career), trolling INTP forums and being ignored on dating sites.

How do you generate an income?

I am sometimes a sushi chef and often unemployed.

Hardest thing about being ENTJ?

Nothing is hard about being an ENTJ. Everything I touch turns to gold, except not in a way that fucks up my life like it did for Midas. Think edible and comfortable to sit on gold. The only problem is that I expect too much from people, but that's not really my problem.

Did personality tests in an employment scenario. Some of the online ones show me as INTJ rather than INTP. Maybe the results shift because of how I'm feeling on the particular day I do the test? INTP "profiles" seem very, very close to how I and those around me perceive me, so I would trust that more than an occasional online test.

How did you find out about this forum?
Googling INTP profiles.

Do you have a partner/lover?
Married for nearly 20 years now.

Do you have any kids?
Two ... a son and a daughter.

Do you have any pets?
Nope. Too much hassle to look after them. Kkids are "enough trouble" for me without loading pets in on top of that, although a neighbourhood cat has adopted my daughter and it practically lives at our place (but we don't have to feed it or pay its vet bills!).

Which hobbies absorb you the most?
I read a lot (mostly science, philosophy and theology). I play chess every week at my local club (I started the club 4 years ago). I play guitar less often nowadays, but used to play a lot. Friday night football and fish-n-chips is my preferred relaxation!

How do you generate an income?
After working in IT for 20 years, I have now moved into general management roles in the not-for-profit space. I'm best at conceiving and starting new projects/departments/whatever. After a few years I will preferably hand them over to someone else to run, whilst I can then go on to do something new. I also run a home-based consulting business in the IT/ISP space.

Hardest thing about being INTP?
Makes marriage a bit more difficult, being limited in my ability to relate emotionally ... but I think that tendency is gradually mellowing with the advancing years.

How did you find out about this forum?

Do you have a partner/lover?
Nope, I suspect I'm afraid of negotiating intimacy

Do you have any kids?
^ refer to above

Do you have any pets?
My parents didn't want pets so no.

Which hobbies absorb you the most?
Strategy PC games, Video games in general, Computer/Technology/Science/Political articles, Wikipedia, and the occasional board game.

Hardest thing about being INTJ?
Not INTJ in particular, but being an introvert who's a bit "not in sync" with socializing does make seeking summer employment harder (via lack of strong communication skills). Generally I keep away from people, though not deliberately. I suspect this is an area I need to improve on.

How did you find out that you were INTP, or other type?

For one long year in the 90's I was stuck in a lease on an Atlanta loft with a woman that I could NOT get along with. I read "How to get along with people you can't stand," but was dissatisfied with the book, so searching the Internet I found out about the MBTI test, took it, and was amazed at what it told me about myself and others, my roommate included. From there I read the excellent book "Please Understand Me II" by David Keirsey and the astounding "Survival Games Personalities Play" by Eve Delunas, which describes in detail how people of each personality type behave when they are stressed or hostile.

How did you find out about this forum?

Through a MBTI website.

Do you have a partner/lover?

Not currently.

Do you have any kids?

No.

Do you have any pets?

No, though I like dogs and they like me.

How do you generate an income?

I've been a HVAC technician for 20 years.

Which hobbies absorb you the most?

I flew sailplanes and had a sailboat when I lived in Atlanta, and now fly model sailplanes on the slope. I also kayak, bike (bicycle,) and am slowly learning French. I follow politics pretty closely, and have an insatiable need to learn how everything mechanical, electrical and chemical works. I also find astrophysics fascinating, though unfortunately I am a wide thinker, not a deep one. (Damn!)

Hardest things about being INTP?

Relationships, though I've gotten along especially well with an ENFP woman who I've been close to for a long time, even though I broke up with her.

In my line of work, though it's a technical field, most people are very different from my personality type. This makes mutual understanding and fitting in difficult at times. Becoming aware of how people with different personalities operate for good or ill has made getting along with them (or at least understanding them better) much easier.

How did you find out that you were INTP?
I made research for enneagram tests and I found the MBTI-test, wich sounded interesting and I tried it. Later I noticed, that I had taken some kind of MBTI-test before on www.blogthings.com. ( But that test was misleadingly named as "How rare is your personality?")

How did you find out about this forum?
Thank the person who put the link in the end of INTP description on the site typelogic.com.

Do you have a partner/lover?
Nope, I haven't even searched yet.

Do you have any pets?
A cat. His name is Oliver, but usually we call him Olli. My family has also three other cats and a dog.

Wich hobbies absorb you the most?
Photographing and drawing, though I usually don't have any ideas what would I draw. I also like to play our old keyboard and create my own composions. I've tried to write a blog, but it's so difficult to update it regularly...

Hardest thing about being INTP?
Thinking too much and the lack of social skills...

How did you find out that you were INTP, or other type?

I was bored and found myself taking personality tests, a few days ago. Yeah...

How did you find out about this forum?

I was googling INTP, I found this, and liked what I saw.

Do you have a partner/lover?

Nope

Do you have any kids?

Nope

Do you have any pets?

A Jack-Russell dog, her name is Lea.

Which hobbies absorb you the most?

I'll treat this as a listing of my interests and hobbies, rather than just hobbies, because my hobbies mostly stem from my interests:

Reading about basically everything, but especially on my other interests, but also epic fantasy (Sara Douglass, Robin Hobb, Raymond E. Feist, Fiona McIntosh, Celia Friedman, etc etc); table-tennis at a tournament level; mind games, but especially chess at a tournament level; politics and political science, especially deep politics; history, especially ancient history, medieval history, 20th century history, and military history; mathematics; physics, especially theoretical physics, and the universe; writing; chemistry; biology; psychology and human nature, propaganda, and ways institutions control people; competitive computer gaming, as well as semi-professional CS:S; atheism; logic and formal logic; computers; music, especially classical, piano, movie soundtracks, computer game soundtracks, extreme metal, alternative metal, melodic death metal, progressive metal; philosophy; complex systems, chaos theory, and free will; photography, especially landscape and waterscape photography; drawing; economics; geography and the environment; and virtually everything else in the world that I didn't mention.

I simply can't decide what interest and hobbies absorb me the most, because they all do! More than that - I hop from interest to interest, whatever has my current fancy. I suppose music has always held me constantly captivated, however, so I'd be inclined to go with that.

How do you generate an income?

Right now I don't generate any income, but I'm planning on constructing multiple streams of passive income, primarily through the internet, and also investing in various forms, as well as business.

Hardest thing about being INTP?

Social awkwardness, indecisiveness, procrastination, and perfectionism.

How did you find out about this forum?

The almighty internet, where else...

Do you have a partner/lover?

Nope, never had.

Do you have any kids?

No, but i think i would like someday.

Do you have any pets?

When i was still living in my parents home, we always had cats. I just love them. At least at the "Ixxx"-part they are like us, but i do believe they are actually fully INTP ;)
Yeah well, the most work came from our horses...now there are 42 of them or so. But i don't know if that qualifies as 'pets' anymore.

Which hobbies absorb you the most?

So Hobbies: That would be thinking. At the part of interests, that would be 'all', really. I mean, there is scarcely something which doens't interest me at some level.
There are a few things, that would qualify as hobbies to other people though. That would be reading, i can wolf down a book of 700 pages in one day. They are so short!! :-( Then there is journal-keeping. I do that a good year now, and i quite enjoy it. There is a place, where you can philosophize just like in thoughts, but with the advantage of having it written down for retrospection one day. And i do hope, that it will bring me some talent for creative writing.

Hardest things about being INTP?

Time! There is simply is not enough time for learning all and everything, which seems to be my raison d'être.
And then there is the society, which has not much understanding for someone who has more than one interest and who doesn't (couldn't) identify oneself through his job or social rank. What would i give, for not being dependant of money/economy (which is IMO the central point of society, besides the search for security). So one little Runabout out of Startrek (with Replicators for food generation, transporter, warpspeed, a federation database with more to learn than one lifetime gives...). Ok, i know, but dreaming is legal ;)

How do you generate an income?

Still dependant student at university, so mostly parents...

How did you find out about this forum?

Throught internet, while I was checking some information about those personality types.

Do you have a partner/lover?

No

Do you have any kids?

No and I don`t want them.

Do you have any pets?

Not really.

Which hobbies absorb you the most?

I like to read books and computer science. In fact, I like computers better than people. About books - I`m writing one myself right now, thought I`m writing them almost all of my life - it`s kind of neverending story. I`m interested in anthropology and ancient mythology, thought those interests may look weird for person with my current age.

Hardest things about being INTP?

Making simple things into complex systems and sometimes - people`s misunderstanding. They often think that I`m little bit too odd.

I'm from a stupidly small town in Maryland, United States.

How old are you?

I'm 17.

What's your gender?

Male.

How did you find out that you were INTP, or other type?

A bunch of people, including my parents, at my church somehow found out about MBTI, and soon enough my parents had figured out what everyone is. One day they told me that I was an INTP. Turns out they were right...

How did you find out about this forum?

Do you have a partner/lover?

Nope.

Do you have any kids?

Uh, no.

Do you have any pets?

Yup, 2 cats, Olive and Sylvester, and a dog, Sabre. And a few spiders in my room. And an ant farm under the house.

Which hobbies absorb you the most?

I spend way too much of my time folding origami. I also have been messing around in languages, and try to write stories, and draw. I'm also very interested in computers, and doing stupid things to them. I like to read, too.

How do you generate an income?

I'm a physical therapist aide at a clinic. I basically hurt people all day long...

Hardest thing about being INTP?

I'm socially awkward, have big issues with procrastination, indecisiveness, voicing my thoughts, and other people's emotions...

It was the first link after the INTP results.

Do you have any pets?

My alter-ego.

Which hobbies absorb you the most?

Gaming takes up most of my time. Then writing, then reading. Sometimes I walk around alone in town observing things. I used to play the piano but I have given it away after I moved (no space).

How do you generate an income?

I write.

Hardest thing about being INTP?

Emotionally vulnerable.

I've tested several times over the past three years. Eventually I began getting INTP as a result. I think it's because I'm maturing.

How did you find out about this forum?

I happened upon it through Google.

Do you have a partner/lover?

Yeah but it's crumbling.

Do you have any kids?

Nope.

Do you have any pets?

Not any more. Had a kitten named Indie but I had to give her away because my apartment complex wanted to charge me $300 for a pet deposit. She's in a good home.

Older than many of the members I've read on the forum, but not ancient.

How did you find out that you were INTP, or other type?

I tested as an INTP once, and even though the description fit, I didn't really believe it. I think I am somewhat chameleon-like, because I can see something of myself and how I have behaved in the past in several of the MBTI types. I think I first realized that INTP is really my true type when I came upon this forum, and saw many posts I might have written myself! This is my first ever post to any online forum, so you all made quite an impression for me to make this leap!

How did you find out about this forum?

I had been looking online at various MBTI sites for career advice due to my chronic dissatisfaction with my work. I think I linked in from typelogic? I'm about ready to give up finding fulfilling work - might as well just do as little work as possible and enjoy my outlandish daydreams and ideas...

Do you have a partner/lover?

Husband. Perfect for me, he's a Guardian type. He keeps me from floating off into space.

Do you have any kids?

No, not sure that's going to happen.

Do you have any pets?

No, too messy. However, I greatly admire the Scottish and Irish terriers.

photography and cameras, bicycles, motorcycles, researching and reading on the internet. I used to read books voraciously, but now I spend most of that time reading on the internet. How do you generate an income?
hmmm, I'll say industrialist...was a tradesman, now in designing and manufacturing

Hardest thing(s) about being INTP?
Taking ideas from theory to reality.Avoiding second-guessing decisions. I'm always trying to make things theoretically perfect instead of just making them.
Frequently sidetracked researching my interest of the moment when I should be working. Focussing on one interest. Getting off of my butt and starting something.

I got bored one night and decided to fiddle around with Synchronet to see if I could get the old BBS feeling back. Discovered that it's not that easy to do without any content in the BBS. Did a test in one of the BBS Doors and there was the result: INTP. Then I searched for more info on INTP and other types. The INTP description is the only one that appears to fit, so far. I think.

How did you find out about this forum?

Whilst searching for INTP descriptions this forum was in the Google result list.

Do you have a partner/lover?

Nope

Do you have any kids?

None that I'm aware of.

Do you have any pets?

What is your name? - Roger

Where are you from? - East Coast, USA

How old are you? - 18

What's your gender? - Male

How did you find out that you were INTP, or other type?
- I found out I was an INTP after taking a general interests test, a component of which was a fully fledged MBTI test also.

How did you find out about this forum?
- A year or two had passed since I had taken the test and I became curious to see whether or not forums of this kind existed, hence my quest eventually brought me here.

Do you have a partner/lover?
- None at the moment.

Do you have any kids?
- Nope

Do you have any pets?
- I have a friendly beagle named Doche who keeps me company.

Which hobbies absorb you the most?

- The hobby that I'm most immersed in is programming, but you'll also find me doing tons of photography, playing the violin, and playing Tennis on mild days.

How do you generate an income?
- For the moment I make most of my money through doing System Administration and general computer troubleshooting work in my own time; the proceeds of which will go towards paying off college tuition fees :-/

Hardest thing(s) about being INTP?
- I haven't double checked this trait, but I have read that INTPs are "anti-social" socialites. This statement could not be any more true in my circumstance. If you find a topic that I am comfortable about, I could muster a decent conversation. But those extroverted social situations are especially troublesome, for I can never muster a conversation starter. Hence, there is some degree of alienation in certain situations (and thus the shades in the avatar).

How did you find out that you were INTP, or other type?

Random, online MBTI test. I've retaken for fun every 6mos or so over the past few years but never really took the time to research/care until now.

How did you find out about this forum?

A search for "INTP forum" routed through Mountain View, CA...

Do you have a partner/lover?

Girlfriend of almost three years. She's been across the country for the past month and change, so I'm about to go crazy.. lol.

Do you have any kids?

Nope

Do you have any pets?

Nada

Which hobbies absorb you the most?

Reading, Philosophy, daydreaming (it can get pretty bad), occasional video games, and messing around in Linux can each consume entire days/weeks. I've also started weight training (fun) and running (unnngh, not so fun) again... but can't get too absorbed in those two because I'll end up breaking something.

How do you generate an income?

Currently on an internship in the energy industry, but headed to graduate school (environmental mgmt) in the fall. I worked my way through undergrad doing IT support, something I'd prefer to never do again.

Hardest thing(s) about being INTP?

The social aspect; the best way to describe it is that I'm introverted with occasional bouts of extroversion. Unfortunately, in that 20 minute bout of extroversion I've comitted to doing something social where I'm 100% guaranteed to be moderately uncomfortable at first, and have probably become absorbed in an activity I'd rather be doing anyway in the intervening period.

INTP. Some "visionary" told me so. I did not believe her, so took a test. Did not believe that either, so took several tests.

Was looking for some literature; in the process found a posting on this website. Explored and joined it.

Do you have any pets?

No.

Which hobbies absorb you the most?

How do you generate an income?

Student on a scholarship.

Hardest thing(s) about being INTP?

Very few people know of personality types, at least the MBTI categorization; so I won't say that they presuppose before interacting me. But, it always happens that I find it difficult to start a conversation. In case someone starts it, I find it difficult to take any interest in it, unless they discuss my interests, especially Mathematics or Philosophy. Almost always, I end up as a listener. There is also a plus side to it. My friends think I'm a very good listener, the complement to which I can just pass a smile.

I am new here, so here is my introduction. Knowing me, this may be the only post I ever put here! :D

What is your name?

Ches - (No, it's not short for Chester)

Where are you from?

Houston, TX

How old are you?

34

What's your gender?

Male

How did you find out that you were INTP, or other type?

My wife sent me to a psychologist to find out why I'm so screwed up. He gave me the MBTI and it turns out that I am an INTP which means that, yes, I am screwed up, but there are others like me! :)

How did you find out about this forum?

Googled INTP to learn more about it

Do you have a partner/lover?

Married for 12 years to an ISFJ. She is truly wonderful and patient to put up with me!

Do you have any kids?
Yes, 2 boys and a girl

Do you have any pets?

None, I can barely keep up with the kids

Which hobbies absorb you the most?

Art - Particularly Airbrush work and Oils on canvas
Web Design
Photoshop
Movies - I'm obsessed with them - (all genres - US or foriegn)
Music - I have very wide tastes
Games - Wide tastes on this to

I jump from one thing to another frequently but these seem to be the most consistent

How do you generate an income?

I am a Campus Network Specialist for Houston ISD. I basically handle all computer, network, and web related things at a junior high school. Its ironic because junior high was the worst time of my life (second only to high school) but I really love this job because it is varied enough to stay interesting (and I don't have to interact with the little weasels (err...students :D) much!).

Hardest thing(s) about being INTP?

Perhaps, my biggest issue right now is that I come from a devout southern baptist background and even have a degree in Biblical studies as well as 70 hours towards a Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (I have since quit seminary). Being INTP means that I don't readily have faith "just because", and I have a consuming need to analyze and make sense of everything (as opposed to the "The Bible said it, and I believe it" mentality). I find myself identifying more and more with agnosticism and even atheism. This of course puts me at odds with most of the people in my life who are most important to me (including my wife). I have felt this way for a long time but have kept it hidden, but I loathe people who pretend to be something they are not and do not wish to become one of them. My couselor says he thinks it is virtually impossible for an INTP to survive in a Baptist setting. I had a philosophy professor (who was a christian) who always said that "we must follow the truth, even if the truth leads us away from Christ." I guess I am just looking for truth.

Which hobbies absorb you the most?

Traditional Art, I'm beginning to work with painting.
Digital Art

Reading
Sleeping
Video Games
Parties with my friends

How do you generate an income?

Ha. At the moment really nothing but I'll do random jobs for my parents and friends for cash. Oh and my boyfriend doesn't like $1 so I get those from him. XD

Hardest thing(s) about being INTP?

I sit and watch my friends cry. Then even worst then not being able to comfort them is watching my other friends comfort them. I would also have to say. I do not like the thinking part of it to much either. I'm considered the heartless twin and mean becuase of my lack of care. I have been working to get rid of this and surpress my logic when it comes to working with people that don't want it.
