Question about places to talk to people

I can't think of any interesting place to find people. I scroll this this boards topics and they bore me to near sleep.

So why am I here? It's because I don't really have anywhere else to look.

What kind of places are there that you can enter to talk to people but not be immediately banned or at least not have to worry about being attacked by a pitchfork mob?
