Hello Everone,

I figured i would get the obligatory introduction out of the way. I am as can be guessed an INTP. Some of my current interests include reading heavy doses of nonfiction (fiction is dessert but nonfiction is the main-course. My interests are pretty broad. Currently economics is at the top, but who knows what will be tomorrow. Anyway i'll stop here because I am in the midst of creating a bunch of goals for the new year, a few of which might even be completed.

Hey, why do you like economics?

I enjoy it for a few reasons. The first would be that i find it to be somewhat of a middle ground that is more rigorous than most humanities yet still has the human element of the humanities. I also like large systems and manipulating then to acquire optimal benefits. Also I just happened to stumble upon a few good teachers and professors.

Do you have anything novel or groundbreaking in mind that you could possible add to the field of economics?

Unfortunately I am fairly still uneducated in large portions of the field. My education consists of mostly basic macro and micro courses. I have barely even scratched the surface on the mathematical end of it all but maybe one day *looks off into the distance*. I am not cetain that i want to make a career out of it, though i've often considered it.

Question:

How viable would ancient or very rare economic structures be if they are implemented uniformly on this planet within our lifetime?

What is your relationship with our feline overlords?

Which country would you want to rule until your death?

Where will oil prices go in 2016?

I feel as though I am completely unqualified to respond to this, but with that said I will take a crack at it. I currently see oil prices remaining low for the coming year. OPEC as I understand it has more or less collapsed for the time being. This started with an attempt to wipe out shale oil firms in North America. By doing this OPEC (heavy emphasis on Saudi Arabia) hoped to gain market share in exchange for less profitability. This so far has been a failure as many of these companies have instead just piled on debt (an example would be Whiting Petroleum. This could continue on into the foreseeable future. A more recent event is Russia entering into the fray. Russia from my understanding intends to keep oil prices in the 40 to 60 dollar range for the years to come. There will surely be many smaller oil firms which will be bought up or go out of business that will act as a counterbalance to this supply but it will likely be nowhere near enough to drive prices up. Couple this with the slowdown in growth from China which I don't expect to disappear and a mediocre outlook for most of the world and we have ourselves a recipe for cheap oil. Let us just hope that the instability caused in developing nations is not so great that we have some sort of global catastrophe on our hands. Just my views.

I enjoy pringles but have no special affinity towards them. If one were so inclined to have the price of pringles lowered from its current price one option would be to to a massive study on the positive externalities that pringles has on society (i.e. they actually make you live longer, cure for cancer, will provide peace among the warring black and red ant colonies, etc.). From here this study would could be used to start a grassroots movement (potato roots movement?) to have the government lower the cost of production of Pringles (i.e. subsidize Pringles, tax breaks for the company or perhaps just R&D expenses). Subsidizing R&D expenses might be the way to go as it would encourage Pringles to focus on researching new ways to develop more efficient ways to produce Pringles and perhaps also develop Pringles of a higher quality. Of course some such as myself might find the a bit morally reprehensible. This of course is coming from the mouth of someone who has no real right to answer this question with the current level of knowledge I have.

1. I would need a more detailed example of what you are asking.

2. meow

3. Preferably one of my own creation

Why are you looking for something called home?

Do you find questions more rude if they don't have a questionmark.

If you re-read the title you might realize the other possible meaning was that I was hoping that somewhere on this forum there was a telephone.

Oh, and of course I don't you discourteous rogue.

Except for being impossible, that meaning is indeed possible.

OK. I'll never use questionmarks on you again.

I usually ask questions without question marks when I'm being critical of others, since I find that it makes the tone appear more harsh. Or at least that's how I hope it comes across. :P

For example, one of my most commonly used phrases: "What the Hell is wrong with you." implies that there is no question that there is something wrong with you, and that it is merely a fact that must be accepted. Using a period also implies I don't care what's wrong with you, but rather that I just wanna make you feel bad for having something wrong with you.

Yeah i am thinking the same but apparently this new dude is immune to it.

Hello.

So, a bit off topic. Do you guys plan to live relatively normal and content lives? And if so, why?

Prepare to be disappointed. Basically I have just been a member of many INTP forums but never really stick with it for all that long. Every once and a while my interest for the mbti is renewed and I go off and join whatever thread interests me. I'm looking to settle down this time though. Humorously I've actually been trapped in the same town for all of my life so far but I at times would enjoy nothing more than to just gather up my cash, hop on a train, and spend a month living wherever it takes me.
