Hm. So I'm The Additional 1 - a combination of the internet's famed "+1" awards, as well as literally being a singular addition to any conversation/thread I join. That's it - my deepest secrets are now revealed.

A little new to the game - I've recently delved back into personality types. The most consistent result is INTP, and although I would like an official diagnosis, INTP fits me far more than anything else out there. So here I am.

Any other personality types are largely when I allow myself to be as such, and/or my INTP type is when I consciously interact with the world as such - e.g. I'm perfectly in tune with my own emotions and others', but I always push emotions aside when making decisions or coming to conclusions, and I absolutely disdain people who allow their emotions to take the forefront of their actions. But if certain things had changed at certain times in my life, I am quite sure I could be ENTP far more often than not.

I'm "officially" Christian but am distancing myself from organized religion, because there's a huge difference between "universal morality" and "follow these rules and listen to how this person chooses to interpret this piece". I've been socially isolated for most of my life, so I've come up with a lot of thoughts and conclusions on my own. Reading analysis and nuances of semantics have always been my strength, which simultaneously makes me cynical of other peoples' words, especially with emotional influence. Finally, I've been through enough...situations...on my own that emotional solutions are something I just never seek. If there's an issue that's causing emotions, address it. If not, then, well, humans are the most adaptable species ever, so hey. Anyway - I'm more spiritual, moral, and am looking into Buddhism not as a religion but rather an earth-bound moral code. Starting to look into that. Oh and if God is out there, then he's far far beyond anything we can comprehend, so all of this imagery is pointless. But there's definitely a thread of connection out there somewhere. #stringofpearls

I want to be a Renaissance type of guy - I'm very interested in a whole lot of things (Architecture, sailing, soccer, problem solving, efficiency, sociology, analogies & transposing themes/concepts, 30's and 40's era styles, things of grandeur [especially of times past], classical music, writing, reading, creative flourishing, fluidity, bio-mimicry in future developments, calligraphy, the list goes on) and I absolutely hate how held back we are by people who can't think outside of the box, are leaders because of imitating the system rather than improving it, and/or are simply afraid of change and have the power to prevent it. One of my lowest assessments of someone may be to call them a "Social creature" only capable of group thought.

Anyway. If you've made it this far, then congrats and thanks - you now to some extent and how I'm approaching this whole thing. I'm just here to really find like-minded folks because there is an absolute dearth of them in my circles - at least that I'm aware of. How did everyone get here, and how do you see your INTP traits manifest themselves in your lives?

Hmmm an aspiring revolutionary moralistic polymath.

You have come here for answers and intellectual discourse, so I am obliged to ask you: Team Edward or Team Jacob?

Oh my, we went so deep so quickly.

After appropriate rumination, I confess: Team Jacob.

Warm instead of cold; earthen instead of stone; caring instead of possessive; living and thus driven by more appropriate, relative incentives. Probably wasn't a 115 year old virgin either.

And really though? I'm just a dog person.

...no offense.

Wait you actually watched those films or consumed those dead trees with ink splattered upon them?

I recall seeing some or other parody with a vampire riding a segway......hmmmm the fact that you answered that question in a coherent and studious way illuminates quite a lot about the person you are.

Thanks. I come here because I really need a niche where people really think and rationalize.

But yes, I admit I read and watched them all. I READ AND WATCHED THEM ALLLLL, DAMMIT! >:-O *confesses to the world, much like the baby daddy from Scarlet Letter*

I hated the writing but I have to admit the world she created is actually fascinating...don't judge. Or judge away....

@Blarraun - thanks

Welcome! I try not to think outside the box I instead aim to think without a box.

I've never watched it but I would totally be Team Jacob as well.

@The Gopher - that's great because the box is for squares. Ha! Got eeem.

But interesting because I think someone on this site pointed out this website: http://www.thinkinside.biz/the-3-principles-and-5-steps/

Only briefly skimmed through it but it's an interesting start...

@TheScornedReflex - mmmmaybe...two caveats:

1. If you're a girl, sure...
2. Depends on where you want to touch. (That is, anywhere but my eyeballs, please. Germs.)

@Kuu indeed I did! That was my minor. And I appreciate the love. +1 I have a weird relationship with religion though. Like...I'm fully aware and emphasize with the fact that some people just plain need it. Fine balance between being exasperated with them, and yet not wanting to take that comfort away. I'm not exactly atheist but I got to where I am through a very uncomfortable experience that I wouldn't wish on many. So...maybe I should be a pastor.

What's your experience with architecture?

@Auburn - I believe your wish came true...I have found all of you. :')

So, alveoli or small intestines are fair game? You are a brave person. :D

Welcome aboard, I am the resident silent guy that is totally, like... up to something.

Hi The Additional1, great intro!

The boxology on that creativity site gave me the creeps. Creativity is deep research, wild analogies, and listening to that little whisp of a feeling that there might be something that connects this to that. Most researchers, managers and engineers try to describe creativity and fit it into a process, rather than creating the space, physically and socially for creativity to take place on its own on a daily basis.
