this obviously won't be tha case all the time, but do you guys think that introverts are in general more intelligent?
in my opinion, are "inside their brains" alot more, and end up thinking more. thus, thinking more, they become more "intelligent". (sorry don't have time to fully develop)

It depends on how you define "intelligence".

If by intelligence, you mean interpersonal awareness/consciousness, then probably.
If by intelligence, you mean spatial/physical awareness, then probably not.

(Going by the conventional definition of "Introversion" rather than Jungian.)

Personally, I don't feel either are more intelligent than the other. Extraverts offer more objective knowledge, introverts more subjective. I am personally more stimulated by the latter but find keeping different perspectives around, where possible, is helpful.

No. That's silly.

I think what you describe is why introverts often have a better awareness of themselves than extraverts. I don't think being introverted means you necessarily think more than an extravert though, it is more the analysis is subjective so reflects the self, and hence provides a deeper understanding of it.

YES WE ARE.

Just kidding.

Well we are probably more "wise" than others.

If we were to engage in a conversation with an extrovert often they would be astonished by how we interpret objective facts into theories and start making wild predictions about the future.

Certainly I remain astonished at how extroverts are able to keep their awareness levels steadily high and their ability to handle a social situation even when busy.

I think you'll have a tough time making a case with this unless you can really define what you mean by intelligence. The two smartest people I've known in my life from my perspective were, I think, both extraverts. I think some introverts are generally perceived as "more intelligent" simply because they keep to themselves and don't socialize. For whatever awkward reason, much of society deems this trait as an indicator of intelligence. I don't think there's any real correlation.

You may, perhaps, be accurate to state that some introverts will be more "book smart," as they tend to stay at home and read instead of going out to socialize. Then again, asking the proper questions, having the proper conversations, and being able to fake the appropriate knowledge can be much more effective than actually reading. *shrug*

I think another poster made a good point when they said you'll have to define intelligence first. If it is the traditional kind, I'm sure there's a cross reference between IQ scores and MBTI type somewhere. I think INTJs have a higher percentage chance to score higher, but of course these are merely general tendencies any individual can divert from them.

I think we need to be careful about the prejudices of our own psych type.. we are smartest in what we value most.. and if someone else values something else more.. they probably will not be able to be as smart in the stuff we value most.. and so we will likely value there smarts less...
