How often do you do things simultaneously?

I'm not telling you, stalker! :P
I do things simultaneously all the time. I watch cars pass by at the same time, wonder at the sky, and think about the events of my life.

I listen to music, picture scenes to go along with the music, and study for my chemistry test at the same time.

I read up on the passage the English teacher gave me, relate it with stories I read, and observe what other people are thinking and doing.

What about you guys?

Floating.
Actually, I usually find it extremely difficult to focus on more than one thing at a time. It's something that I really have to work at. I prefer to only have one thing that requires any amount of real concentration. This can be a bit of a problem when I am required to complete simple tasks, such as crossing the street, or catching a ball that is catapaulting towards my head, for I often find myself distracted by some fleeting thought or perhaps even an interesting looking peice of fluff that might be floating by my face :D

It happens to me too! Especially in dodgeball XD

But for the most part, I usually do things at the same time all the time, though that might be because of my ADHD.

yeaaah, i'm the same as tashi. i have a real hard time concentrating successfully on more than one thing.

my mind wanders all the time, though, which makes completing tasks that don't particularly interest me extremely difficult.

multi-tasking is an easy game to play. in my case at least. To talk to someone, play videogames, think strategy, think situation, think ideas--thinking in many ways is probably the easiest, breath, chew gum, see, listen, and probably lots more.

Extremely fast serial taskswitching is easy. True multitasking is trickier, but still doable. I do prefer to have multiple tasks on the go, as it were.

I multitask all the time and I usually do a reasonable job, but if it's something I care about or if it needs to be done really well, I prefer to focus on just one thing at a time. The exceptions would be watching old tv reruns or listening to music while doing simpler tasks, especially daily maintenance-type stuff.

Doing two or more things that require real concentration is silly, in my opinion. No matter how good you are (or think you are) at multitasking, you're very unlikely to be as effective as you would be if you do them one at a time.
