I'm not sure, but it's rather chilly.
Hello, everyone. I've found that, as a rule of thumb, a given INTP is intelligent. I've also found that most intelligent people regularly have times when some other person is mind-blowingly stupid in such proportions that it is infuriating, yet hopelessly funny.

So, tell me about one of your recent (or not-so-recent) experiences with the Violently Stupid.

*correction A given INTP is capable of being intelligent. It's just too much work after you're in your 20s.

With that said, no one is stupid(well, unless they're stupid). They just have different intelligences.

1.) I said "as a rule of thumb" as an out to certain old codgers who'd rather not put in the "work".
2.)Alright, I'll reword it. Please share any comical experiences that occurred with people of a different intelligence (this intelligence happening to be of a lower order).
Satisfactory?

As I have gotten older, gloating at others' lack of intelligence has gone from funny to incredibly depressing, both because they can't help it and because I'm stuck with them all. And there are more of them by far.

I know where you're coming from. I used to find peoples' lack of intelligence a topic to gloat and joke over, and I still do. But there's definitely a dark side. However, I don't come on this forum to brood, which is why I chose to ask the brighter side of the question.

Well then, the last humorous experience was watching Strange Brew last weekend.

I've literally laughed out loud more, since joining this forum, than I have in years. Thank you for that.

hmm.
I can only think of why someone comes to their conclusions, and usually the reasons seem to be delightfully complicated. I prefer to think that we're pretty much all born with similiar brain capacity, so it makes me curious why someone would choose to go with a certain path.

I also believe that if person is 'stupid' in one thing, he can be extremely smart in another. If one's logic is really bad, he would be extremely good at understanding how to act in social, which is art in itself. In which case if a person has chosen to pursue to become good in being social, I will not look down upon his lack in logic.

Then again this theory wavers quite often.

This has been proved otherwise, I don't know why you would think this way (unless you didn't know).

Agreed.

Has it? I've yet to read about it, and would love to get that corrected. Got any links which has that information? By which I mean sites that you've found good, otherwise I'll just use the google.

Three nasty abscess stories:

About two months ago I had a patient with a 5 cm abscess on her forearm. She said that she was minding her business in her neighborhood when she saw a group of people congregating and up to no good. She decided to approach said group and tell them to disperse, but one of them randomly stabbed her in the arm with a needle containing an unknown substance and injected something into it. That was her explanation as to why she had the abscess.

One lady came in with an abscess on her back the size of about 3 grapefruits. It had been there for a month.......sigh. Popped it open and watched it erupt like a volcano.

Another guy came in with one with a diameter of about a foot on his back. He said his back itched one day while he was cooking, so he used the butchers knife to scratch.

Well it's basically that scientists have done brain scans and also have analyzed genes and found that we are not exactly "created equally". You can realize this for yourself with natural temperaments and females and males, but the scans give the matter scientific proof, if that means anything to you. I don't have direct links, it's mostly been absorption. So, unless you take my reasoning as highly accurate, we have gotten no where have we?

The fact that there are synesthetes and people with photographic memory is evidence that we are not all created equally. I wonder if there are any twin studies on the subject as that would get rid of a lot of confounding factors I guess.

Well, yeah, I know the brains are created differently. What I'm curious of is that if there's people with similiar brains (say - two INTP's), from which another is just smarter/wiser in all areas because he was born with "better" brains. Otherwise it'll be more about what type is smarter than another in which areas. Of course it could be that different types have different brain capacity, which could make them act in different ways... then again it kinda makes no sense since the IQ scores are so scattered everywhere... hmm.

It's cool, I'm not arguing with you, I have no need to satisfy my internet ego. I'm simply interested of the matter, so off to google I am. Cheers.

I may research and learn a lot about something, but actually doing it I make the mistakes and "stupid" decisions anyways, even though I had it all planned and knew what to be aware of. I do the same things someone else may do that would cause me to think they are stupid for making that decision. Yet I made similar decisions. Its just that I'm so slow to comprehend things sometimes, its only after the fact that I remember what just happened and that I didn't remember anything I previously researched.

I have a friend that is highly unintelligent. He is a heavy Se user and he is racist (a racist jew, imagine that).

I asked him, "I wonder how you introspect in your mind and perhaps how you perceive things around you" he looked at me, looked very very confused with mouth open - saying "What did you just say to me?! Your mother is introspecting."
