Whilst everyone has a personality and it's subjective whether someone has an appealing personality or not, which type(s) is/are most likely to get the above comment directed at them ? (I would think ISTPs?)

Conversely, which type(s) is/are most likely to get the "you have a great personality" comment directed at them ? (I would think ENFJs?)

The regimented and goal oriented istj probably takes the cake for most unoriginal. some istps can actually hold interesting hobbies and pursue them passionately. on the positive end, entps or enfps because they are generally laid back and spontaneous, open to sharing personal information and open-minded. infjs were in the running, but they bitch too much and suffer martyr complex too easily.

ISTJs are the most boring to me. They tend to be dry, lack vision and creativity. I'd say on first meeting and ENFJ, they would have the "best personality" however I'd argue ENFPs would probably win after a few conversations, because ENFJs tend to be so overly dramatic they're hard to be around.

One usually means that said person is unexpressive, not spontaneous, and is overall rather boring. Thus it is likely the case that IxTJ's will be told this. Someone who likes the IxTJ personality is also likely going to call more expressive types "overly dramatic" or "too emotional" or "too bouncy" rather than say that such a person has a bad personality.

I'm just trying to emphasize that having "no personality" is not always a negative thing.

Also, I would think that having "great personality" depends on the tastes of the person. When I exhibit by eccentricity, I am quite liked by a number of people who like such types of people (and despised by those who feel awkward by it). Conversely, a similar perspective could be taken for ENFJs or ENFPs or whatever.

There is no such thing as "no personality". It really means that the person has issues being open with others, and being their own person. As for what type that would be, that could be anyone, for any number of reasons. It could be extreme introversion, lack of originality, trauma from abuse, being overly agreeable, not being agreeable, anything.

^ I disagree, but that's a good perspective.

I have been accused of such before, as well as being boring. I'm usually a very guarded person, even on forums and such, and it takes me a while to let certain facets of my personality show.

I guess the type typically associated with this is ISTJ, though I could see INTPs/ISTPs getting the same criticism due to their inferior Fe and general lack of expressiveness. I remember watching a comedian I thought was INTP and someone said they had no personality, emotions, etc.

As for 'great personality', ExFJ's will be at an advantage with minor acquaintances and crowds of strangers, in general. Ne-doms will be favored by 'weird' people or those who favor 'weird' things, but may also annoy many others. Introverts may appear 'deep' to those who pay attention, suggesting the promise of a great underlying personality. Conversely, extroverts may seem almost 'soulless', as if there's nothing underneath the surface.

Most, if not all, of these judgments will be made unfairly and without proper consideration.
