While doing my Forensic Science homework on Handwriting Analysis, I wondered about the handwriting 'personality' tests.

I am skeptical about it, but I want to know what your handwriting looks like.

Since we are supposedly alike here, I assume our writing should have similar qualities if the personality theory is true.

Add gender, age and which hand you use for data purposes.

So here's mine:

Cursive, straight lined, close spaces in between words, wide spaces in between lines, words have small width, words have medium length, words slanted to the right, body doesn't extend far into the margins, not much pressure on paper.

16, Female, Right-Handed.

Also, you don't have to add all 16 points of forensic handwriting analysis if you don't want to. Just add whatever you have time for.

When comparing your writings (including the other thread) to mine, I find it that yours are either really nice, really messy or unreadable. Mostly relatively nice though.

I wonder if it has anything to do with school and the time you're given to write shit down. Around here we had lessons where we had to write non-stop for 30-40 minutes, and in a fast temp. I write really fast and I could barely keep up with the teacher. I know there were students who are shy and didn't dare to ask to repeat the sentence, so they were skipping 1-2-3 sentences sometimes...

My take (a short one so Noodle has a chance):

Most obvious trait: optimism

Quite imaginative
Partly logical and partly emotional (not as strong a logical trait as most INTPs, if I remember)
Not very ambitious (again, I think compared to other INTPs)
Straightforward
Can keep secrets
Relatively social and easygoing
You start off open then become more cautious later on

That's when I'm writing for others to read (yeah that bad ) whereas my notes that I write for my eyes only are so poorly written only I can read them, I even occasionally use symbols instead of words and have lines passing through the text to make nonlinear connections so it begins to look more like an alien star chart.

Descriptions don't do a whole lot. Ideally, to analyze a sample, you need a physical copy, preferably written in pen, in the writer's native language. It should also be a page long with a signature, rather than just a sentence or two.

The reason for a physical sample is that you can learn a lot from feeling the pressure and rhythm of the sample through the paper. You can also spot tiny things like strokes that go over each other. The reason for the amount of writing is that the start of a sample tends to be a bit artificial, and also the margins and slant of the baseline are meaningful.

I remember when I first realized how useful it could be. My INTP dad is a pretty decent graphologist when he is in practice - you have to keep in practice to do it right - so I showed him what looked like a pretty interesting sample from my college's dean of students. He fairly recoiled in horror and told me to keep away from the guy, as he was not to be trusted. But when I needed help with my roommate, I did trust him, and I have never, ever been more betrayed by anyone. Based on stories other people told me about him afterward, he is my best candidate for an actual sociopath of anyone I have ever met.

Later I learned how myself, and warned my dad in turn about two people he had hired. But they were charming, like my dean of students, and he was distracted and didn't listen, and those two pretty much destroyed his business.

As for forensic graphology, I also found two forged checks while I was helping out with an audit. Very handy, forensic graphology.

It can be a happy thing, too. It isn't all about finding scumbags. Lots of times I've spotted the distinctive "rhythm" that appears in musicians' handwriting, and asked them what instrument they played. They are always surprised by that, and flattered that their handwriting shows off their art so clearly.

Solitaire, you can't get much from printing except a strong desire to communicate clearly. In the cursive sample, it looks like you can be insecure and easily hurt if someone insults you. It also looks like you are kind of moody and tense and more secretive than you let on. I would also say you are very persistent, and probably keep going on things after anyone else would have given up. But I am definitely not in practice so I can't get much more out of it.

A22, it looks like you have a huge imagination, and lots of curiosity and energy, but it just isn't a very big writing sample.
