Would you want to hang around in space?

I was watching the astronauts talking and there was a question - do you ever get bored?

For me, it would be VERY boring. At first, for probably less than a month, it may be interesting, as I would get to explore stuff, see how the Earth looks like, etc.. I would still get bored by the end of the day, I believe. Maybe I could get some books up there, etc.. But generally, I wouldn't want anything like that. It's too boring, there's too little to do, there's no progress in advancing yourself, you won't get a better position, you won't make a shitload of money.

So what about you, would you want to be in space like that? Whether with 5 other people or alone? And I mean if you couldn't alter any course, just stick to the predefined one. Your job would be to make sure that the ship works alright.

Depends how big the ship is and how many women there are, with each one I could occupy myself with several weeks of conversation. :D

If I ever got the opportunity, I would never be able to turn it down.

I don't get bored easily. Even when there's "nothing" to do I have great entertainment in my thoughts. Though, being bored would be a low price to pay for such an experience.

Doing the same thing every day without having much control of the direction sounds very much like most of my adult life so far. Being in space would definitely be a big plus in that regard. I think if anything would turn me off it would be having too much to do in space and not enough time to just enjoy it in a lax way.

I have zero interest in going into space, unless it's truly first-class accommodations from the future – I'm talking like Star Trek future. You often see these billionaires and millionaires to take their money to go fly weightless in an airplane or sign-up for spaceflight. These guys are obviously Sensors. It's the ultimate sensory experience to go into space. To me it looks like a bit of misery.

Star Trek may be interesting. New planets and new people, new cultures and new technologies. Although, I would want to stay longer than those guys do. However, the danger isn't attractive.

I want to go to space, though I don't really have a way to pay for it.

What I mean is with Star Trek technology. Artificial gravity, holodeck, replicators, etc. I would never want to go into space with our present technology. Cramped, stomach twisting and dangerous.

I believe It would be the following feelings for me: inadequacy/boredom/uneasiness hanging there in the small bubble of oxygen in infinite space quite devoid of it. Earth is much more preferable, even on the boat in the ocean.
Earth is more reliable with regards to oxygen supply.

I would absolutely love to hang out in space. That's actually one of my dreams, to go to space and stay there as long as I can.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRJ_0PeIGhY

Why the hell some jockey always has to post a video or a picture somewhat remotely related to the topic? What about expressing your own thoughts without using means of various shit made by others? That's rhetorical...

I want to go to space, though I don't really have a way to pay for it.

Sucks to be you, not enough shit to do on Earth... :slashnew:

I know what you meant. :)
