Clockwise for me, but it changed to anticlockwise for 5 to 8 seconds after I had viewed it for a while. It returned to closewise after those 5 to 8 seconds.

Yes. I score as slightly right-brained on tests.

Huh... that's cool.

Obviously, it went clockwise for me... (INFP! Woohoo!)

But I was able to make it go the other way, by looking at the shadow of the foot, which only goes counterclockwise. Then it was just getting it to go the other way...

Mine spins 180 degrees before switching direction. Left than right, left than right again.

I stared at it for a few minutes. Where the h is anyone seeing counter-clockwise?

Edit: My 666 post! :evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil:

Hmm... so the two people who've said which direction so far have both said clockwise...

Ow, ow, my eyes....
I saw it as counter-clockwise for maybe a minute.
Then I glanced away for a second and it went clockwise.
I wanted to know how to switch it back and forth...
Once I focused on the toes of the extended foot, and forced myself to see it moving 180 degrees rather than 360, it was easy to switch from clockwise to counter-clockwise.

'Course, I just finished my intro to engineering/design class homework, so I may still be seeing things in weird dimensions...

It's turning clockwise for me. I don't see how the heck it would be turning counterclockwise...how does this work?

I must be equally right and left brained because all I have to do to get it to change direction is focus on the text, and then come back to the model. All I have to do is visualize it in different ways, using specific right or left brain processes.

Clockwise/Counter Clockwise when viewed looking up from beneath or down from above? That is not what I get.

Don't say anything about deh gramma.

Try watching the shadow of the foot... it only moves counterclockwise.

I'm not sure how it works, but it could definitely be turning either way.

edit: Huh. Just kidding. The shadow moves clockwise too. Oh, well... it worked the first time.

Well, when looking down, the model turns clockwise, and I can NOT make it do anything else.

[edit] But when I took a test, I am more evenly divided... odd.

Well, this is interesting... it appears that INTPs tend to be right-brained. Is it just me, or is this totally counter-intuitive?

The list of traits for dominant right brains:

RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses feeling
"big picture" oriented
imagination rules
symbols and images (?)
present and future
philosophy & religion
can "get it" (i.e. meaning)
believes (?)
appreciates (?)
spatial perception (?)
knows object function (?)
fantasy based
presents possibilities
impetuous
risk taking

I've bolded the ones I think are INTP traits (I guess there are more than I thought... I must have been thrown off by the first one being "uses feeling"), and put question marks by the ones I'm not sure about (since I'm not an INTP). ...um... are the last two totally off??? Or have I missed something?

(Please correct me if I'm wrong in the identification of any INTP traits.)

weird. maybe you're overthinking it?

have you tried scrolling down and reading the comments or reading all the text at the side?

...or maybe the tests just suck. They were not too long.

[edit] though I do know, that when I do math and physics concepts, I like to visualize what is going on in my head -> definitely spatial, thus right sided.

Oh, I should probably put the left brain ones on here too...

LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses logic

detail oriented
facts rule (?)
words and language (?)
present and past
math and science (?)
can comprehend (?)
knowing (?)
acknowledges (?)
order/pattern perception (?)
knows object name (oh! Now I see what the other one meant, I think)
reality based
forms strategies
practical
safe

Okay... lots of question marks, but judging by what I know for sure, right-brain definitely makes more sense.

That explains why the thread I found this on (on infp.globalchatter) was called "Is this the ultimate P vs. J test?"

I think we just have to ignore the "uses feeling" and "uses logic" parts.

Here's a question: Do you think INTPs tend to use feeling in their decisions more or less than INTJs?

It seems like the left brain list is descibing an uber-ESTJ... which would mean that the right-brain is an uber-INFP! And yet, I can switch between with relative ease, most of the time...

Oh. Well, I'm not exactly an "uber-INFP"... I guess I could have said "archetype INFP" instead of "uber."

....but uber is such a fun word!!!...

Initially, it turned clockwise for me. But then I read the text next to it and it changed to counter clockwise.

As with regards to the feeling question, sometimes I have a very hard time keeping logic and feelings apart. I mean, for me something might feel logical but explaining why it is logical...well, that isn't always as easy.

it started counter clockwise for me, but I figured out how to see it spin either direction after about 30 seconds. :)

It turned clockwise at first. But when i started reading the text beside it, it turned. Now it keeps turning c- c and c.

Edit; it seems it starts turning c- c if I think about numbers. And when I relax, it changes back.

We've had at least 2 other threads (probably more) on this already. Every single thread about this is full of confirmation bias, and I'm sick of it!

??? :(

Should I put a note in the first post to do it before you read the thread? Or would that not help?

It spins clockwise for me, which is strange because I thought our T means were more logical hence use the left hemisphere more.
How do you perceive it to spin the other way?

That probably wouldn't help much. The bias I was referring to was the tendency to see it going in one direction after logical thinking and another direction after creative thinking. It's more likely that it does that just because we expect it to.

It's weird when you get it stuck on the cusp of the two directions - so it looks like the model is defying inertia and swinging back and forth across a 90 degree arc, changing direction at each extremity.

Well.... I do have a balanced brain, so I can see it both ways. It took me a little while first time to see, but. Later on, it made me crazy, as the direction changed every half turn.

After 2 threads, theres simply still NO WAY i can ever make it go counter-clockwise, still have this notion that people seeing it counter-clockwise must be mad :(

Spinning Counter-clockwise would indicate that the horizontal leg would obscure the vertical standing leg as it came in from the LEFT side. as the vertical leg is logically further from her body than the other 1 is.

Instead of obscuring the leg from the RIGHT side, which it does when i look at it.

i cant see the reason why it changes :(

i thought everybody saw that part, i don't know how it becomes Counter - Clockwise unless we see different things. :O

Mine spins 180 degrees before switching direction. Left than right, left than right again.
For me it was clockwise initially... then as soon as I started reading about it and trying to figure it out, bam, anti-clockwise. Now that I understand how it works, I can perceive it switching at will, including what bdubs sees as quoted.

Kind of reminds me of those young woman/old woman things - I could never see the old woman until someone explained it to me in detail, then I could switch which I perceived at will.

At start i seen it spinning clockwise and coud'nt imagine how it could spin c-c Then after some minutes it started spinnning the other direction. Now i noticed every some turns it switches the standing leg and changes direction.

I can only make her go clockwise so far. But that may be because I am insanely distracted by her tits. Sorry if that's rude.

Now she's only going counter-clockwise! She started doing it out of the corner of my eyes and I caught her.

First time I saw it, it went counter-clockwise. Stared at it for a few seconds and thought "How can it go clockwise??", then I read the description on the left, looked at it again, and now it was going clockwise, and like you, I was like "WOAH"

^Yeah. Have you managed to control her yet? I still can't do it, though I don't need to distract myself as much as before. I haven't taken her off my screen yet.

I saw it as going clockwise when I first saw it.

After a few minutes of trying to see it counter-clokcwise, it finally went.

Now I can control whether I want to see it clockwise or counter-clockwise.
