If INTPf is to Social Media what Methadone is to Heroin; then INTPf is my Methadone.

For the record, it's a euphemism. I've never met the dragon, nor chased it.

I first came thinking I was an INTP, I have since learned that I am more of an ENTP. Thus, an inferior type!

BLASPHEMY! ENTPs will rule the world! We're basically just the loud cousins of INTPs

Interested to see how the member quality stacks up, since I've run into people banned from here (thanks for Chad btw, the gift that keeps giving)

Coming here to distract myself at work. Reddit is usually my main work distraction, but I don't comment on anything there. I prefer quieter, smaller forums.

This has actually been my social media equivalent for 4+ years. I signed up here around the time I gave up social media (ie Facebook). It gives me enough content to catch up on and doesn't piss me off nearly as much. If it ever does piss me off, I can happily leave for a while and come back some time later with nobody getting on my back about it.

:)

Welcome to the other side.

Continuing our car talk, the wife recently purchased a BMW 1 Series... somethingorothersport. I drove it the other week and have to concede that I did find it rather enjoyable. On paper it's less powerful than the Merc, but in practice it feels a great deal more 'peppy' because it's obviously smaller and thus a great deal lighter.

When it comes time to change, I'll certainly give BMWs a chance. I think I was too quick to disregard them initially. That being said, I'd still take my Merc over her BMW any day of the week. But still - not a bad little car.

Reddit is great, eh? A colleague introduced me to it about two years ago.

I can't get enough of those 'weird shit' AskReddit threads.

I've yet to even try a BMW myself, but I also have a merc E55 and a Ford Fusion (My Dr Jekyll and Mister Hyde setup - would be nice to have it in one car)

If I were to get a fast little car, I'd probably go with an audi RS3

I haven't driven an Audi. I don't know what it is about them, but they really don't do it for me. A6 aside, actually - those things are nice.

I think there are some very intelligent people here, but some are stagnating because they dont really do much. I have a friend that likes to use the term middlesmart. Really good at puzzle and problem solving, but havent learned to use their intelligence in a meaningful way.

I like the honesty that is present here. I went on a vacation on my own recently for the first time and I realized something that I think is easy for NTPs to forget. Its that you need intimacy and love. It does something to your body and brain that makes you function better. So making an effort socially, even in small gestures like posting on an internet effort is an attempt in striking back at the stagnation.

I guess the majority of my last couple of hundred posts have been semi-shitposts written either on the subway (like this one) or while I'm at work waiting for some computation to finish

Path with heart
Largely to fill a gap of some kind. When I'm busy with work, hobbies and have an active social life I naturally spend less to no time here, like I did for a great part of the last year. I'm unemployed currently, am consequently more isolated and less active, and so I end up spending more time here to fill social gaps and boredom.

It's nice to have friends here to keep up with - some of whom have been genuinely very meaningful to me - and to be able to write and share stuff I often can't in real life. I think a safe space to be and explore myself with people I related to and couldn't find elsewhere is one of the main things I found here in the past. I love writing as a medium of communication and want to keep that in my life. But overall I don't think the forum is a good thing for me so far as I use it to procrastinate from being proactive about being true to and fulfilling my actual needs.

My life and self-perception is on a positive shift at the moment from a long, dark period and I think the consequence is that I'm likely to leave this cave more often until I no longer have a reason to return to it.

Personally I'm just interested in MBTI but have never signed up to any forum such as this one. It's a bit hard to "get into" this forum though

I come here when I temporarily lose interest or inspiration for projects. I’ve come to a standstill with one of them because it has become too much of a logistical challenge, which means I’m procrastinating....

I’m currently also more preoccupied with psychology and sociology, and this place is an interesting observation arena. I can write more freely here. Academic writing feels suffocating after a while.

Step 1: Stop caring what other people think of you
Step 2: Try and have an open mind
Step 3: Start posting shit
Step 3: ????????
Step 4: Profit.
