Who I visualize "myself" as splits into three different general categories, I think: thoughtful, which is more or less default; a sort of...free, almost completely innocent feeling that I get every now and then; and indifferent, which is basically my escape route from life..

saved.jpg

savedd.jpg

I couldn't find an accurate picture of my third "visual identity", which would be the cold, detached, indifferent, etc...because honestly, I don't think many children can pull that expression off.

Yes, even when I imagine myself, I see a child....I think everyone else is just too old. ><
I'm pretty sure I'll be trying to see things through a child's eyes even when I'm much older.
hint: the picture in my profile was taken in a rare "free" mood.

@Nia - That was very profound and beautifully symbolized; especially the poem. I'm also in awe of your honesty.

@Chimera - Beautiful little kid. Hehe, I can see that. All three of them. At different times they've all manifested themselves here, haven't they?

Inside myself, I too am a child.
I'm afraid to admit that I'm also quite a pathetic child...

Poor_Haku_Alone_by_auburneye.jpg

These pictures pretty much capture the essence of me... or at least one aspect of me...

There's another aspect of me that is the "observer" which actually has absolutely no form. I couldn't possibly find a picture of it. It's just an "awareness", a "consciousness" floating around - able to see, but possessing no eyes - able to think, but possessing no mind.

I guess this would be very similar to that "thoughtful" identity Chime mentioned. Whenever this identity is prevalent, I am emotionless. I don't even identify myself with the human race, I just happened to be trapped inside a human body. I observe my own body as that of another, and my own feelings, if any, as those of a stranger.

Chimera - how beautiful. What I love about those pictures is the pureness of the emotions that seem to come through. There doesn't appear to be any veil between the emotion and the manifestation of it. Pure trust. That's how I feel about your posts - there's an honesty about them, which is very attractive.

Auburn - I felt a bit guilty about my post in a way. I know that relatively speaking I have quite a fulfilled life. Its just that it feels very messy and complex to me at this time for all sorts of reasons. the poem, i have always felt reflects me. It speaks of a loneliness which I cannot justify but which comes to me in waves - sometimes overwhelming, sometimes hardly there.

What would you look like if you were in the body that properly represented who you are on the inside?

Heh, I actually saw some time ago a dream, where I had a mirror that showed who you really are, when you projected light through a prism to it. In the dream my sister was Einstein and I saw some cartoon characters in the mirror... ;):D

(sorry for the off topic, go on)

Wouldn't what?

EDIT: Damn Melkor, baiting me into these crazy little non sensical posts. My original posts were actually serious for a change. :D

I for one appreciated your sharing, NoI.

...we are scarily similar in many ways.

I am ever so sorry....that you were born........:p

Face it, you'll be nonsensical and coherent ALL your life...

Unless you marry someone sensible and overbearing.

-a spolight instantly flicks itself on above Lor-

If, in some horrific alternative reality, NoI and I were ever married, we would long since have vanished in a suicide pact - you hateful creature.

ps. to all those sharing bare honest pictures. Bravo. They're beautiful.

Well, uhm, perhaps that thing like teddy bears? I mean in an innocent way of 'like'...

So then 30 secs later it is all huggy there, teddy bear hugging monster, the sun casting nice shadow plays on both o' them, the rest of a recent shower in the air to create cute little rainbows...:D

No? Well, whatever...

I really like all of your posts, and i'd like to post something myself, but i simply can't decide...Probably it should be a cat, idly lying around, in the other moment curiously eyeing some thing. But i couldn't finally decide this, i mioght be forgetting many things with that?

So pick up your sorry fetid flesh and go find yourself a decent antagonist.

I can't believe Cognisant's so emo. Sheesh.

There is not one image which could encompass that which is 'me' inside, but I can possibly compose three general states of inner being...

Sometimes, I am this...

At other times, this...

Though mostly, I am this...

EB: Bitchin first picture.

Waterstiller: Also awesome. My ex-gf and I had a game we'd play in museums... we'd look at a sculpture, and then try to replicate the pose or facial expression (with much comical exaggeration). That just reminds me of one of the poses.

I found this image randomly... and I was amazed by it. It doesn't really represent me, although maybe (very abstractly) represents what I'd like in a girl? I'll be honest, I've spent awhile just staring at this picture.

But I've noticed that there's a lot of eastern & enlightened pictures floating around in this thread. You folks are bold! Or I'm one of the few that's not enlightened, and I haven't noticed I'm surrounded by bodhisattvas. :D :-P

@adastrac (or Christina, if you prefer): Those are very beautiful pictures. The first one, with the paper sailboats, oddly seems to tug on one of my strings. I think it's the playful, childish innocence related to paper sailboats, which contrasts against the dark mood and atmosphere of the sea and sky. The woman, meanwhile, is simply sitting in a boat watching unperturbed.

It also reminds me of one of the poems on DeviantArt, titled "sailboats." It's about the author's younger brother, who used to fold paper sailboats for fun, but who seems to have drowned (?). Unfortunately, several Deviantart users have plagiarized her work, and she has removed all but three of her deviations.

The first one represents anger.

The second represents the major battle within myself.

Third represents the feeling of being alone in this black and white world.

My personal fav. represents...well how i see me.
The cloak shows weakness but when you attack you realize you havent hit anything. The pentagram shows rebellion, and the complex blade represents my tactics. The appearance that it is floating and not standing shows lack of stability.

all of these images are from DeviantArt and none are mine.

This (below) represents the duality within one's self, two perspectives, gaining insight into the reality of things:

and this (below) , is angry (to the point of scary). However, I kinda' like this owl because one of the same type lives in my backyard. I would stay clear of this owl just like I would stay clear of an angry me.

Speaking of cats,
Ha, no really don't leave!
I am almost perfectly represented by my two cats.

One of them represents my Ti. She is very reserved, cold, smart, calculating. (Her name is Sabrina, but her reputation has led to my niece and nephew calling her Meanie Sabrinie. That should give you an idea.)

The other one is little still, four months old. He is quite playful and curious. He would represent my Ne. He is quite nice really, but sometimes he gets a little too agressive. He's just playing around, but the teeth still hurt! I can relate to this (from his perspective), as I'm sure many of you can. INTP humor is not appreciated in society.

I suppose that to represent me as a whole, I would be a kitten of nearly a year. Almost a cat, but not quite there yet. I would still be playful, but it would be more subtle and less !crazy. I would have learned The Ways of the World, but still not quite understand them.

I know this thread has been dead for a while but I found it really interesting so I'm going to try to re-open it:

King Vash's 2nd picture I especially liked, as well as Tom's Cheshire :D and adastrac's barefoot girl walking into the sun.

I feel like:

First image:
Twilight, sun setting but still sending enormously powerful rays of light
2 people, standing still and hand in hand facing the vast ocean, one old and one a child. The child wears a smile of pure delight and awe, and at the same time a look of old, knowing wisdom. The old person has long, stringy grey hair and no face. The overall sense is one of depth and stillness.

Second image:
A hugely messy room with a young woman asleep on a pile of books and clothing. In her long hair is a star, the only point of brightness in the room.

Third image:
The Scream. I am so grateful that was painted.

Sorry I can't be bothered to google images :o

Physical characteristics: I would be short, very thin, long straight hair, pixie ears, elfin face, pointed chin with an impish smile and twinkly eyes and an overall look of intelligent eagerness (I already have most of this). If possible I would have an exclamation mark and a lightbulb over my head (this I need to get).

I hope people come back and post on this thread! :)

An Honest Question:

What would you look like if you were in the body that properly represented who you are on the inside?

This question might take some deep searching within to come up with the answer, but I believe it gives one a much clearer understanding of who they truly are. Nobody picks the body they are placed into, and often times our appearance doesn't do justice to who we truly are inwardly. Detaching oneself from anything external - age, race, gender, height, skin color and so on - and just focusing on the soul*, one may form quite a different picture of who they really are.

*I use the word "soul" subjectively. If you prefer "mind" then insert that instead. :)

un i dont think you can honestly answer that. i know what i see on the inside may or may not really be there. i do know what i would like to be and its a long way from how i really see my self. i also tend to see my self a lot worse that how other people see me. so i dont think i could ever correctly answer this question.

It's interesting, but the strands are all the same. It seems to be variations on a very limited theme. This is not meant to be insulting by the way; my surprise is complimentary.
