I've read that both Olsen twins were INTPs. If so, I would like to meet them. Something about having an easy conversation that only an INTP can have with another INTP with the Olsen twins appeals to me.

I don't know any INTP celebrities so I don't know if I'd like to meet them. However if I met one, I might change my mind.

Living? That's tough.

Non-living would be Abraham Lincoln hands-down.. admired him ever since I was 9.

I don't know any famous INTPs living. You know something trippy, though.. most of my favorite fictional and real people growing up turns out are INFPs just like me.:D

The Olson twins come across as bubble-heads to me so that's surprising. Their biggest venture is a fashion line aside from kid movies.

Apparently J.K. Rawling is an INTP. That would be someone worth meeting.

Got it! Edward Norton. Mmm, yes please.

You are an INFP? What do you think you're feeling? I'll bet you a penny we'd be terrified to meet so great a man as Abraham Lincoln.

Abe would be good, since he seemed to be a good mix of brain smarts and people smarts... he wasn't just a braniac who had no idea how to string words together. It must have been a tremendous burden for him to make decisions regarding the war in terms of placing restrictions on state autonomy and just the day-by-day strategic decisons while watching others carry them out... and knowing how many people were dying based on choices he made. That's kind of like "INTP out of the comfort zone -- having to be directive rather than just informative, having to impose on other's choices, having to be involved in a conflict rather than avoid it."

Is there a list of INTP celebrities around somewhere?

Also, the word 'celebrities' automatically generates negative feelings. 'Celebrities' are just people, they're not gods... It's just easier to use these people as examples for things you like in personalities because more often others know them, right?

J.K Rowling comes across as an INFP.
Definitely, although I find it interesting to imagine how Voldermort exists in her mind, I know when I've got a story in mind the characters "walk with me" like they're following me around and talking to me from just out of sight; which I know sounds mental but I'm sure I'm not the only one who does it.

You can't write for a character if you don't understand their perspective.
So I wonder what Voldermort says to her…

Voldemort says, "WHY, oh, WHY did you allow them to make my on screen character bald with creepy nostril slots??!! I look like an albino rat alien. If I'm an all powerful-death-defying wizard why can't I cast a spell to make myself look awesome!!"

The few times I get inspired to make up a story my villains (not to be confused with the "good guy" villain) are always whiny. Probably because I make them using all the qualities I dislike about people and vanity and whining top the list.

I know Brent Spiner is INTP, so he's high on my list.
Also, people have speculated that Richard Dawkins may be INTP.
If that's the case, I'd love to meet him as well.

Beyond that, I can't think of many "living" INTP celebrities.

The bold part is the paradox.

INTP = celebrity? Not usually.
We're aimed in other directions.

If you find an INTP who has found prominence, I would suggest it would be in fields like:
- science
- math
- writing
- computers

Thus, not a typical "celebrity" with a social persona.

It's not a paradox; it's just rare (unlikely, uncommon, not common).
There are many individuals who are regarded as INTP who are famous actors, for example. Brent Spiner is one of them; Rick Moranis is another.

And yes, it's obvious that INTP's would usually fall into such fields; but that doesn't preclude them from also going into artistic fields like acting, theater, music, graphic design, ect., and it doesn't at all preclude them from becoming famous.

And additionally, INTP's may also have social personas, in their own way. Lincoln seemed to have a social persona. Einstein had, to some extent, a social persona. Frank Lloyd Wright (who many regard as INTP) also seemed to have this intellectual INTP persona going on. Rick Moranis has his own social persona, and Brent Spiner definitely has a social persona. Thus, INTP's may be inclined to avoid social roles, fame, and generally lack real charisma, and they may also be inclined to go into research fields; but that does not preclude INTP's from bearing these social traits and avoiding research fields altogether.

You're using a horrible stereotype of INTP's to make a fallacious point.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Tiger Woods is an INTP. But with the recent sex scandal and all, I'm doubting this.

Jeff Golbum seems like a cool, interesting and funny guy - I'd like to meet him if I got an opportunity.

I've always loved Colin Mochrie and Ryan Stiles humour on Whose Line, so them too.

Of the living ones I've seen in lists I don't have any reason to want to meet them.

But I like to think Pat Condell is INTP (based on his YouTube rants). So I would like to meet him. But if he's not _NTP, he's very heavy on the T and seems to put a lot of quality reasoning into his strong opinions--even though I disagree on a few things.

But if any famous INTP is like me, they would wonder, "Ok we met. What do you want?"

So I would definitely want the meeting arranged so I can prepare a purpose for the meeting other than, "Uh... hi?"

I saw that too. Why does that make you doubt his INTP? INTP's are not flawed? Not sexually driven? I disagree. I know many people hate him for different reasons, but I totally see some of myself in him. Not in all ways of course (he is way more ambitious, driven and has an amazing work ethic and manages his career/social/media very well...other than that one incident). But I see similarities nonetheless, particularly his hidden emotions and keeps his deeper self within his inner circle and plays his cards close to his chest...a very private person, a perfectionist, intelligent, imaginative blah blah. In fact, I find the whole sex scandal even more revealing of being INTP. In reality he is more of a nerdy shy type and pretty deep I would say. Love him or hate him, he is a genius and amazing athlete.

It's no secret you have to maintain a public image when you have a billion dollars in sponsorships and are a role model. I always thought he was too good to be true in that respect. It's kind of refreshing to see he is actually human, but I can empathize with him to some extent. Despite him doing something bad, its got to really blow having to play it out publicly like that no matter who you are.

Anyone with that kind of money, fame and temptation who didn't cheat or do some of the things he did would be a saint...almost unhuman. It's easy to judge seeing what you see on TV. I never understood why sex is demonized so much more than drugs, alcohol and other self destructive behaviour/abuse/addiction.....yet as a society we almost praise the likes of Denis Rodman or others who have fallen into an abyss in stark comparison and call them heroes. Maybe I am more forgiving of sexual deviancy than drugs/booze, because that was more my drug than the latter. I have never had a lot of sympathy for junkies and alcoholics. I guess that's just America.

It's generally difficult to type somebody, especially somebody famous. Why Brent Spiner? Or Richard Dawkins? The evidence is thin. People seem to pick famous people as INTP just because they admire them or other circumstantial reasons.

The only ones I'm sure about after much study is Albert Einstein, Larry David and Carl Jung.

Posters. I have some very old notes listing INTPs. Don't recall the source:

Socrates, Descartes, Pascal, Newton, Einstein, Marie Curie, William Harvey, Jung, William James, Tom Foley, Henri Mancini, Bob Newhart, Jeff Bingaman, Rick Moranis, Meryl Streep, Brent Spiner, Midori Ito, James Madison, Quincy Adams, John Tyler, Eisenhower, Gerald Ford, Tiger Woods.

Of course most of these will have to be resurrected if you want to meet them.:D I thought I heard Adymus say Meryl Streep was a "J" but I could be rong.

There's some equivocation in there:

"... manages his career/social/media very well...other than that one incident"
It was one incident of being caught, but his actual problem wasn't one incident. Far from it.

"Anyone with that kind of money, fame and temptation who didn't cheat or do some of the things he did would be a saint...almost unhuman."

Fantasy based on personal bias.

"I never understood why sex is demonized so much more than drugs, alcohol and other self destructive behaviour/abuse/addiction"
You didn't explain why this statement was relevant. But in any case, he isn't being demonized for the sex, he's being realistically criticized for his dishonest behavior. Had he been single, he would have been praised.

You're evaluating the Tiger Woods issue with emotion and personal bias.
