Where are all INTP's

There are about 2.9 billions internet users, at least half of them speak English (although not all of them are native speakers, like myself for instance) .
Now assuming 4% of them are INTP's, there should be about 58 millions English speaking INTP's on the internet.
This forum has about 10 thousands members, there are one or two more websites for INTP's with about the same number of members, where is everybody else?

And what I am interested the most is where to find INTP's in the real life.
I am afraid I met very very few so far and I really crave for like minded people.

My current location is classified.
If you're ok with coming across INTJs and INFPs too, try a bookstore. INTJs, INTPs, and INFPs are usually the book-loving types, so a library or a bookstore is a good choice.

Right, you suggest me to go to a bookstore and start to talk to random strangers (who maybe are there to buy travel guides or cooking books, so not necessarily INXY's).
I do like bookstores, but I go to bookstores only when I am in holidays, travelling, visiting some new city and willing to roam around.
I buy all my books online these days.

Did you try this way yourself to meet new people? Did it work?

  • Many of those INTP's don't know or care they are (I have two INTP friends who fall into this camp, my third INTP friend is a teenager and so doesn't know because of age and exposure.)
  • A fraction of those would be interested in a INTP focus group.
  • Of those typically it's the younger ones, the older ones having better things to do
  • Of those people often only appear on boards like this for a time period then get tired or bored of it
  • And so forth ...

I'd say it's a wonder we find so many ...

You asked where they were. But I see your point. I don't expect you to randomly talk to people. INTPs don't usually do that. You're with like-minded people, you just wouldn't be talking to them. I have not tried any method of finding people. It probably won't work, but that's where the INXXs dwell.

You shouldn't limit your search for like minded people by focusing on finding people of a single type. Anybody can say they're INTP, it doesn't mean anything. You are likely to "click" with people of different types, people with self perception of being different types anyway.

I've been thinking about this a lot as I navigate all the crazy people in college/life. I'm anxious to find my niche and stop having to cater to people who can't respect our differences. Why on earth am I bumping into so many trigger-happy ISFJs on a daily basis? If they have ideals about humility and focusing on other people, why don't they slow down to think about how they might be pretty full of themselves to think I either do or should share their needs, values and beliefs? Did everyone just decide to become nurses in one gigantic leap?

I wish I could connect with more INTPs in real life. Or NFs. I think I've spotted two NTs, but one is a little too reactive, and we're coworkers, so we can't really talk about anything personal without it getting weird. And maybe I've spotted... 6 NF students max (two of whom I don't want to be friends with), with 3 really cool possible NF professors and 2 really cool NT professors. The professors don't really count though. We can't interact outside of those roles. I feel really bad for the ENTJ professor, because people here aren't seeing how funny and helpful he is. He just has a different way of doing things. He's only got 1 star on ratemyprofessor.com. Highly unfair, and doubly-depressing about my suspicion that I'm surrounded by xSFJs/ESxPs in my little corner of the world. *sits in corner and pouts*

yes I am also at home alone.
I am afraid we will all live a shorter life, check this link out

Interesting analysis, but I kind of wish they went deeper into the causality. Social isolation and loneliness were analysed but from an INTP perspective I feel it's kind of a desire for us to head in the social isolation direction. If say an extrovert was experiencing isolation/loneliness then it may to lead depression etc. and a poor lifestyle. But for an INTP I think we find comfort in our thoughts more than others and we may be less susceptible to the negative effects of loneliness? Maybe there's a correlation between loneliness and reduced health/life-expectancy; but I doubt it would affect INTPs significantly if diet and exercise are covered.

But for the man who wants to live longer there's always:
