That's probably true, but what's the explanation? Modern mainstream music is too superficial for the INTP?

I kind of like some Kid Cudi tracks though.

Well, yes, and i've also most of our members have quite a high level of intellect, can you imagine them after discussing psychology to log out and listen to Justin Bieber? :)

PS: I also like some Kid Cudi songs.

Should I pretend not to crank up Elton John or Fleetwood Mac on the ride home? The music is just so theatrical and life affirming, yet maudlin and ridiculous: some of it's hard not to like. Modern mainstream music pisses me off because most performers don't make themselves vulnerable when they go out there. They talk about women and drugs and things that only have superficial meaning. It's safe, as well as highly compressed and basically bland sounding.

I was just talking about mainstream, I also listen to a bit of Elton John and occasionally Fleetwood Mac. I don't have a problem with non-intellectual music, but I do have problem with music full of stupidity. I have an eclectic taste when it comes to music.

*GASP* country sometimes.
There are a few really good folk/country artists, it's just that it has this certain dumb honky-tonk image.
