Yeah, I think there's a definite vibe of being tongue-in-cheek around the whole vaporwave aesthetic. It's kind of hard to explain since it seems like it's partially an ironic movement that's only popular "for the meme" but it also seems like there's an undercurrent of genuine care where it's being taken seriously as an art form so it just has this dualistic nature of being a self-aware joke but also being it's own serious genre.

a friend showed it to me when we were really drunk/high and it put me in this awesomely relaxed mood. I think the whole "each song is an aisle of a grocery store" aspect is kind of rad, too.
