What do INTP's have to say about Project X?

I'm curious what other INTP's think about this movie. I see this movie as a glorification of herd-ish, douchey behavior but I'm in my mid 40's. I gotta say though, even in my teens, I would have been repulsed by the type of people in this movie and avoided them like the plague. What is the opinion of the 20 somethings on this board? Does this movie represent what a "fun" party looks like to you or a gathering of wannabe's without a clue?

From the makers of Superbad & the Hangover... Just watched the trailer, because earlier today I saw someone on facebook post "Someone needs to throw a party like Project X" & wondered what Project X was.
Looks like its marketed towards 20 somethings, looks like a pretty ideal party to a 20 something. I dunno.

From what little I know, I feel similarly to the OP. It is an ideal party for the average young adult but you wouldn't find me anywhere near it if I had any choice.

This.

I watched that movie last night with some friends. It was terrible in that sense. Like it wasn't a poorly made movie and it had some parts in it that were hilarious but a party like that would in all honesty make me want to throw up.

I'm not one of the 20somethings either but I think 16 is close enough to count.

And my friends were talking about it after like it was the best thing ever and how they would do a party like that and I was just standing there like "Are you guys fucking serious? That movie was disgusting."

I also hate the message that it gives off. (SPOILER?)Hey kids! Are you a loser with only two or three friends in the whole world?? Well let's fix that! Just give total control of your birthday party to your piece of shit friend and let him ruin your life! It'll be loads of fun and despite the fact that you'll be in debt for the rest of your life for destroying your neighborhood you'll have become one of the most popular kids in school and everything will have totally been worth it!!(SPOILER?)

Seriously. Fuck this movie.

I'd like to see it, just so I can analyze it.

I saw the previews in the theater and was like, wtf? The movie looked kind of funny if I didn't take it seriously; but personally, that kind of party not only looks like sheer hell to endure from my perspective, but the long-ranging ramifications of such a party are not something to be excited about.

(disclaimer: I'm in my early 40's.)

I've only seen the trailer and don't feel much to go see the film. No doubt there are good jokes in it, but ... nah. I can only see myself watching this film if somebody I'm with wants to see it.

I'm 20 and I like the quiet party's better. Just hanging out with a manageable group of friends or generally nice people.
But I guess a party like project X could be fun if I was really drunk.

I have attended a few insane parties when I was in my late adolescent years. They were fun. I would not particularly enjoy such things these days.

As for the concept of the movie itself, its appalling at face value. The reason why I think this appeals to people and people enjoy partaking in such things is because they're acting out against what is common place in their lives.

The trailor and whole movie idea in general sounds pretty good, from a marketing perspective. And while I haven't actually seen the movie, I think I would like to be invited to that party. I don't give a fuck how douchie the kids are that are running it, and I'm one of the hipsters that's into hardcore music, so I should be going out of my way to insult bros, but I guess I'm growing up and seeing that that fight is not worth fighting. However I won't play any of the games, jump through social hoops, flaunt my self-centeredness like a religion...

This movie appears to be a hidden masterpiece. It will go unnoticed until the director and all the major actors are dead. Then people will appreciate it like a Van Gogh. You can definitely see in the film that it portrays a contrast between the epic struggles of contemporary society and the older generation, something that can only be shown by a masterfully directed film, such as this.

I saw this at a pre-showing for all the top snotty film critics and was just blown away by how inspirational, insightful, and intelligent this film was. It would be a crime not to force people everywhere to see this wonderful film of family values; it changed my philosophy and life for the better, I must say. *wipes tear from eye*

I liked Superbad. If it's like that, I'd probably watch it.
