"One of the most inspirational speeches in recorded history was given by a comedian by the name of Charlie Chaplin. If you like what you see please share the video any way you can and pass the message on."

That was epic. But those who know this can't change anything.

If I wanted to be a tyrant, that is how I would go about doing it.

It's a pretty good speech. But 'we don't need cleverness'? No, fuck that. We do need cleverness. We need cleverness AND kindness. Why would you lock out great possibilities? You can think AND be kind... It's not that hard. At least that's what I try to do.

I would've worded this speech way differently. But I guess it has a good message in it.

Bah, what a huge emotional appeal. Terrible video, condtradictory and too presumptuous about so called truths about the human nature.

But 'we don't need cleverness'? No, fuck that. We do need cleverness. We need cleverness AND kindness.

Definitely.

I agree with you Fukyo.

I understand and support the idea that the way humanity is dealing with everything now is wrong and that it should change, but this speech is way too naive and contradictory to be a REALLY good example for the world. It's way too idealistic and emotion-fueled. In order to appeal to actual world-leaders and such, you'll have to point out the advantages of 'kindness' and equality in the long-term. Such as not letting most of the human race go fucking extinct within the next 100-200 years.

We'll also need to fuck less, or at least use protection more often. Way too many people on this world. But I guess a big apocalyptic crisis will do the trick for us if we don't find a (hopefully peaceful) solution ourselves. Oh, and we'll have to get rid of shitty companies like Shell, so we can finally get the whole green energy and fuel thing going. That'll be quite a challenge though. But hey, a little French revolution here and there might just do it. But in order for that to happen, the quality of life of everybody will have to decrease quite a bit.

The "cleverness" he talks about is not the cleverness in a scientific sense. At the end of the video he talks about how we need to use science to advance human effort. Through most of the video, actually, he says how we have all these potentially world-changing technologies, we just need to maximize their use for a good cause.
