Yo..Anyone know anything about a good free video editing software? I tried a pirated sony vegas but i couldnt handle the fear of cops getting me, and it was to complicated to use with a shitty laptop. Now i have this free trial of corel video studio pro, and it would be good, if my laptop could handle the HD video whiile being edited. Its a pain in the ass to use while the video wont even play. I have an HD canon hf200, which creates new mts files, which most editing software cant handle. And dont tell me to change the file. I tried that and i wasted 8 hours because it doesnt work....I just wannt a video editor that can edit HD files.Anyone know anything? I created the vidoe i posted with the saw mask on with corel, but it was a pain, and im trying to do a longer video and it isnt working.

HD video(1920/1080) requires a lot of RAM to process. I would recommend 8GB+. You're not really going to get much done with a laptop unless you're spending a huge amount of money.

Vegas and adobe premiere pro is what you're looking at if you get a competent computer.

Free software in video editing doesn't much editing feature. To be professional edition it requires some cost.:)

FWIW, cinelerra is probably the only Free video editing software to consider. I'm not sure if it can handle your file formats though. www.cinelerra.org.
