Okay, so believe it or not Puffy is exactly right.
I believe you understand your point, but you haven't communicated it at all up until that post (#9). I'm not saying it's too complicated a point - for me to make that claim I would have had to know what it is.
Compare to Hig's thread:
https://intpforum.com/threads/jordan-peterson-to-debate-slavoj-ziziek.27676/
The title says what it's about (not click-bait). She provides the link (although pay-walled), but then provides context by providing her thoughts on this other fellow Slavoj (who I also haven't heard of).
Now don't get me wrong, I didn't care about Hig's thread either. I don't like Jordan Peterson. But in her case I received enough context to know I wasn't interested. She placed little burden on the reader.
So now, I'm going to watch your seven minutes and I'll tell you what I think:
- Dave Rubin is even worse than JP... Who likes this guy? Even conservatives don't respect him.
- Okay so JP is going to give his heavily political opinions while also pretending to not be political.
- Agreed there's a lack of trust in government.
- Not sure what he's talking about with ushering in the surveillance state. Regulation of corrupt institutions != surveillance state.
- Seems to be pushing personal responsibility, but this is difficult given just how little power individuals have to enact change at a national level. The people who are politically engaged are likely already the ones taking their share of personal responsibility.
Seven minutes over. Which bit of this did you want to share? I'm guessing #5?
