until someone looses an eye

I was sitting with a group of people 20 minutes before I had to give a presentation and they were having some fun by seeing who can flick/throw poker cards the hardest and fastest. Unwittingly, since I was not interested in the activity I was not aware of where the cards were being thrown from. I noticed something for a split seconds then the next thing I know I am yelling profanities at the top of my lungs. There was an 8 of spades stuck in my left eye.

In shock I told a person to pull it out. The blood and tears ran out of my eye while the other turned red and was tearing also. It was an accident so I didn't respond in a aberrant manner. The perpetrator disappeared quite fast.

I managed to complete my presentation injured with blood dripping down my face. I went to the doctor afterwards and now I had to wear an eye patch until random bleeding episodes stop. A waiting game to deduce whether or not I have permanent damage.

My vision in the eye is probably 1/10th of its normal operating function. This maybe a problem.

I would like to leave with the following remarks; It is all fun and games until someone looses an eye.

What card? Is it really possible with such a material? What is the estimate Force? How does it "get stuck"? And the probability?

My cousin and I used to play this card tossing game quite a lot.

Well, it didn't really get stuck in my eye rather than hit my eye with sufficient force to cut and scratch the hell out of it then it went and got caught under my eye lid.

Thats the interesting thing. It was thrown at someone else. Since, it was not accurate it curved like a boomerang would and flung into my eye.

The abnormal vision is proving to be annoying. It won't be until next week when the doc. can deduce whether or not the damage is permanent. Well, back to studying.

Presuming your presentation was for some kind of grade or other reward, I believe you should get suck-it-up points for going through with it. I'd have been howling for a medic and then a lawyer, maybe not in that order. If you want to deal with the card-thrower, have someone pretend to be a lawyer and call him up to ask when he is free to have his deposition taken.
