A note: I know I'm fully INTP when I'm in a casual relaxed atmosphere.

However, when I am at work, I tend to adopt and INTJ personality to a small extent. I'll be acting externally as an INTJ, but internally I'll still be thinking like an INTP.

Note: This survey is not about acting as a different type but really thinking to be another type who has been mystyped as INTP or being borderline at some functions.

Well, I'm put I'm surely an INTP, but I made a note simply because I've mentioned I've been unsure due to being a 55/45 split on P/J respectively, but once I made the distinction between which questions were being answered which way and why, I realized that I've just adopted other traits, but don't really fully (mentally) adhere to them :P

I guess the Myer-briggs types are supposed to be on a spectrum, but I'm so one sided I sometimes can't really imagine this.

I'll be interested to see how the rest of the forum answers. I'm guessing that the average INTP on this forum will be more strongly INTP than the average INTP in a random cross-section.

I still suspect I could be INFP.

A transgender forum I go on has quite a few people who thought they were INTP originally and later decided they were INFP once they came out/transitioned. I'm starting to think the objectivity was always forced and as much of a front as everything else was. I'm becoming much less detached and analytical.

Much, much, less detached.

Water, I highly doubt one could ever find their real type when they're as depressed as you were. As you move forward in life, your real type should become more apparent. At least, I think so. :p

I feel that INTP currently seems to be "box" I best fit in, but I don't feel certain that's the type that best describes me. I have, at one point or another thought I was INTJ or ENTP. I once thought INFP but I have pretty much ruled that out after realizing how much I prefer to detach even though my emotions get pretty powerful (who's don't though?)

INTJ has seemed possible since I have tested as such before. I've come to realize that I use Te alot more than I used to think. I'm still trying to better understand what Ni is and if it's something I use alot. I think I do but it's possible I just don't understand the function very well.

ENTP seemed possible once I realized extrovert doesn't always = gregarious. I've always been shy, but my silliness and overall tendency to crave new ideas had me thinking I may be an E after all. I've given myself many a Ne-headache, literally.

I'd still say INTP is the most likely one though.

I would consider myself INTJ if it wasn't for my scatterbrained-ness and ability to accept random variability

Lost in my thoughts
I'm always at odds with myself if I'm INFP or INTP. A lot of times, I feel myself having gut reactions/instincts and wanting to do what's right, but then I sit back and reflect for a moment on if I should do that or not (and usually the end results are the same)...but I've tested more as INTP than INFP, so I'll go with that for now.

I could be an INFP, ENTP, or ISTP.

Which makes me all the more sure that I'm INTP.

I started out thinking I was INFP but I am absolute in confidence that I am an INTP. So I cannot really pick any of the options.

I'd guess most of the time I tend to INTP behavior, but if behaving like this
http://www.typelogic.com/intj.html is common for an INTJ, I am tempted to change my first guess, cause this describes how I behave most of the time, though the typelogic's INTP description is pretty acurate concerning my "passions"...

I think that's not surprising at all since my P is usually close to my J in quite a bit of online tests...

I think it's normal for people to have moments where they act like other types without actually changing types at all. For now I think I'm INTP, but sometimes I wonder if I'm INFP instead.

The INTP and INTJ types both sound like me. But INTP sounds a bit more like me.

When I first started studying type theory I was sure I an INTJ. I was excited that it described me so well. Over time I realized that wasn't at all who I was, but it look several personal revelations about myself to make that happen.

With that experience under my belt I tend to doubt people's first type conclusion of themselves, but only because I can't relate to growing up without spending a lot of time pretending to be something else. Well, I suppose more specifically for those under 25. Before that the brain is still developing and mapping itself out, too used to change to be sure about what is really a constant. For anyone else its a matter of reviewing their own experience and learning the meaning behind MBTI jargon.

I don't think I could possibly be any type other than INTP. But I love role-playing games, and I often play characters who are different types. Sometimes I get into the headspace of another personality type, and the other players agree that I am not picking actions like an INTP. It is a very interesting experience, trying to model a different mode of thought.
