Yes let's save democracy by removing the leading candidate from the ballot.

If Trump's team tried to rig the election with fake votes then why isn't CNN just saying that, why don't they use the terminology everyone understands, why are they going to great pains to say "fake elector"?

Seems to me they're trying to imply his people tried to rig the election without getting themselves in legal trouble for libel, using terminology that the layman wouldn't understand, intentionally trying to get the reader to misinterpret it.

If Trump is removed from the ballot then democracy is dead, even if we assume he's the worst possible candidate by every objective measure the fact remains that it's the people's choice. That choice cannot be made for them, even if it is blatantly the wrong choice if that choice is taken away from them then voting becomes meaningless.

Likely, a cascade of court cases will come for each state, and Trump will have to fight each one.
Its going to wear him down eventually. And, its not democrats - its the republicans doing it.

And, its not democrats - its the republicans doing it.
It what world does that make ANY sense?

You cannot run for a party if you do not have their support, Trump is the Republican candidate, if they didn't want him to run, for them, then he can't force himself into that position, he is their chosen representative.

They may be "forced" to chose him in the sense that he's such a popular candidate they'd effectively be conceding the election if they chose anyone else, but again the motivation here is that they're trying to win the election.

So why would the Republican party undermine their own candidate?

It's the democrats, they KNOW they're going to lose the election and the know they've done some really illegal shit to try and maintain power and they know once Trump is elected he's going to be able to order investigations into all of it. It's kind of like a sunk cost fallacy, the harder they try to rig the election the more illegal shit they do and the adamant they are that they need to rig the election so nobody finds out what they've done.

The democrats have become deeply ensconced in DEI and LGBTQ+ grievance grifting, as I've said before the day Biden's people hung LGBTQ+ flags on the Whitehouse he lost the next election. These people are con artists and virtue signal fanatically because they know what they are, just like pedophiles in the Catholic Church they try to establish themselves as a moral authority to deflect attention away from their utterly immoral behaviour.

So why would the Republican party undermine their own candidate?

because not all Republicans are the same.

just like not all Democrats are the same.

these issues are not black and white.

Because many republicans don't actually like Trump - don't want to see him run again after the issues he's had already. They just didn't want to be public about saying so - for fear of backlash.

Trump has been slandered in every way imaginable.
Yet no accusations have lived up to standards of democracy - that is guilty.
He is only guilty if proven to be guilty.
At this point even if proven guilty I would probably assume it was some dirty game of democrats rather than actual crime.

Indeed the accusations never seem to stick, is it that he's being protected by people in positions of power? Surely the people protecting him wouldn't be Democrats and yet I'm told the Republicans don't like him either, so how are these accusations not sticking? Who is protecting him?

If you hold two things to be true, and those truths contradict each other, then at least one of them must be false.

Because many republicans don't actually like Trump - don't want to see him run again after the issues he's had already. They just didn't want to be public about saying so - for fear of backlash.
So I suppose then the accusations against him never stick because he's innocent? I mean it doesn't make sense for the same people who are conspiring against him to also be the ones protecting him.

The fact is the mainstream media is trying DESPERATELY to smear him, they'd doing the Putin thing of throwing every narrative at the public, no matter how absurd, just to see what sticks, and once they find a narrative that works they'll double down on it.

If you seriously believe the Republicans are opposed to their selected own candidate then I have a bridge to sell you.

If the documents from fake electors from 2 critical battleground states were stuck in the mail, then surely the rest were not stuck in the mail, and arrived safely.

To block Biden using fake electors, would require enough fake electors to win enough states to win. Normally, electors vote in each state to follow the majority. Even without doing the numbers, that would mean that hundreds of electors have been bribed already to throw the election. But the electors are picked from the results of the voting. So that means they've nobbled the Democrat electors and the Republican electors.

If this article is accurate, then a significant portion of anyone who might have been picked as an elector, has already been bribed and cannot be trusted to vote properly.

If the USA puts them all on trial and convicts them, then they'll have to prosecute hundreds of Democrat electors. That will be a massive scandal for the Democrats.

If the USA doesn't put them all on trial and convict them, then they'll have to let hundreds of Republican electors go free. But since Trump has gotten to them, even if the Republicans don't want Trump, the electors do, because they've been gotten to. So then Biden will probably lose the election anyway.

If the SC doesn't change their minds after this, and if Trump is still on the ballot, WTF America.
This ballot removal seems to be done on the basis of the 14th Amendment. If you look at the text, it's clear, that it's a disqualification from holding office, not from being elected. So they can't stop Trump being on the ballot. They can only stop Trump from taking office, if elected.

However, that also means that even if Biden is elected, if the 14th Amendment would invalidate Biden, then Biden cannot be President either. Others have pointed out that Biden has done far more than enough to qualify being disqualified by the 14th Amendment. Unless that challenge has been answered, Biden has technically zero chance of becoming President, no matter how many votes he wins.

In 2016, the Democrats tried to scare the people from voting for Trump.

Now, they're trying to scare the states into denying people the ability to vote for their chosen candidate? #we're_protecting_democracy_by_telling_you_who_to_vote_for?

We may need to transfer all votes to a direct democracy registration of the electoral college then. i.e. no more delegates, just the total votes of each state as to the community/senate of each state would need to create an official registration box to the congress.

The South Carolina Democratic Party’s presidential primary filing period closed on Friday, November 10th at Noon. Tonight, the Party’s Executive Council certified the following candidates to participate in our historic first in the nation primary on February 3, 2024. Per state law, SCDP Chair Christale Spain will transmit the approved candidates to the South Carolina Election Commission:

Nothing sticks because he is like a Mob boss and the fake charisma and money holds it up.

The mob infiltrated the government during prohibition (the ban of alcohol) in the 1920's. They were part of the war effort and CIA in the 1940'/50s. During the 60's a mob boss killed Kennedy's "assasian". And the FBI worked with them to kill Martin Luther King Junior also. The church commission exposed the MK ultra mind control experiment the CIA/Mob was using to control the underground Radicalization movements. And Nixon was part of the whole operation called: The Southern Stratagy. First to import drugs into the black communities then to make the South full republican/KKK. After Iran Contra Saddam was made dictator of Iraq when weapons were sold all over the Middle East by Reagan. Bill Clinton signed the three-strike rule increasing mob activities in black communities. During Bush two, many active CIA black sites popped up that were mob-connected by back doors into the USA because it is illegal for the CIA to operate within the borders of the USA. Thus the FBI must be the mob's front to keep the CIA inside the USA just as the crime families were part of the operation in Paperclip Blue Book and Cointellpro. The State Department knows this but they don't care. The financial crash of 2008 caused many people to start turning to crime families for money, especially democrats. My roommate had to ask the cartel for money to get his dog back from the vet who said they would kill it for no reason. Wako was another FBI operation that killed many people and the Oklahoma City bombing was by a white supremacist. My friend was kidnapped by one once. Trump knows all this too, his IQ is 155 and he can tell what makes people tick. He can blackmail people just by mentioning the crime Democrat crime family they are related to and also any Republican crime family. That is why Komy was a dunce he thought he could blackmail Trump but it did not work. Thus years and years of fake investigations. The rule is, don't fuck with a mob boss unless you got real dirt on him. But the thing is that Kanney and that gay guy did make Trump look like a fool by bringing that white supremacist into the novel office dinner accidentally. Kennedy might have made the same mistake that got him assassinated. the families now see opportunities to take down binden in the same way. Look at the pictures of Hunter Biden with cocaine on his dick in front of a hooker. That is embarrassing to many many people. Even more so than Jeremiah Right was to Obama. The problem is that the Republicans can't get into the government the way they could before. Too many anti-supremists and many many layers of lawyers. The only way to do it is by appealing to the base. People in business just like the mob did in the prohibition. Get the people on your side and the government caves. Again the problem is that the lawyers created an immunity to the corruption yet still use tactics of lawfair to get what they want. This means the government is seen as "against the people". the people Trump appeals to. If you ever had any problem with the government then Trump promotes himself as being on your side. Every effort Trump has made is to get people to hate the government more and more. "Look what the fucking government did to your family" is his message and it is working. Look what they did during COVID-19, look what they did at Waco. And on and on and on. This is why Desantis is so popular in Florida. We will fight the woke in the blah de blah, on the beaches on the shores blah de blah. The ati-vax convoy also made Justin Trudo the enemy of the people by freezing the trucker's bank accounts. You can no longer feel safe keeping your money in Canada. Jordan Peterson fled Canada for being open about his free speech rights and they wanted to reeducate him. Any time the government fucks with people Trump gets stronger and stronger. I do not want to be pessimistic but, that is just the way the cookie crumbles.

Bruce Almighty - That's the way the cookie crumbles

ok, a lot of that is true, AK.

I'm even tempted to go with PNBeast's comment that our political reality is all fake, all of it except nature itself. I will put my energy into nature and move away from Political things which none of us really has any real effect on anyway. Best to stay out of it.

Don't worry I am sure if we keep people calm they will make the right decision. And even if Trump becomes president people can keep safe by just keeping to themselves.

lets be clear - if a vote happened today, Trump would probably win

im sure all those voters would be delighted to hear that a handful of (partisan) judges decided to remove him from the ballot

this is the point where US is losing its credibility as the bastion of democracy, unfortunately

If no one is elected I am sure that because of "the the continuity of government" someone takes control as leader of the USA. - that is why the plan exists, to begin with.

Yeah but in a democracy if you break the rules, you are not pardoned just because enough people vote for you. That kind of federal crime can be pardoned only by the president.

It's crystal clear he broke the law here, what Trump orchestrated is electoral fraud, undermining thousands of voters from the two relevant states to corrupt and try to achieve a winning electoral number at the US capital.

You have to remind yourself that the whole Jan 6th event was to slow down Pence just enough so that the fake electors can come and deliver their votes.

Trump both incited the mob, threated Pence with it, all the while trying to fly in the fake electors.

I do not understand how you can allow a president who undermines democracy to remain on the ballot. Democracy is only alotted to those who follow the same common law. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

If the SC protects Trump, it'll further erode its credibility, making two of the three branches of the US government even more untrustworthy.

Has this been proven in a court of law?

I don't care what some article says, there's a lot of misinformation these days, but if there's proof that Trump has orchestrated electoral fraud then he should be quite rightly brought before the courts and put on trial.

If that's not happening, why not?

If he's declared guilty by a fair trial then quite rightly every state would then be obligated to remove him from the ballot, instead it seems one state has simply assumed his guilt and acted upon their assumption, hence why its been so controversial.

If Trump was subjected to a fair trial and found guilty based on evidence then there would be no grounds for controversy.

sorry this was incorrect

they weren't judges, and they weren't a handful. It was just 1 person, the secretary of state of Maine (some woman called Shenna Bellows). I assume state secretaries at state level are not even elected but appointed, like at the federal level?

this is just a pure clown show at this point, what a fucking mess US is

Well, that's why Trump's currently fighting this in the courts. The Justice department made a special council to convict him (I think?), and they're the ones who are bringing this into the court for deliberations.

Or maybe perhaps they're prosecutors from the states who are the victims.

Jan 6th was a bad day
Yes it was, bad and people had died, but in US this sort of stuff happens all the time.
Only it happened in Capitol.
US economy is in the dumpster overall.
And people will as symptom of this poverty and discontent get angry more and more.
Bad leadership of US has made many people unhappy.
COVID and current recession will send a lot of people towards poverty.
The incompetent people that cannot deal with system issues of US will throw ad hoc solutions on these problems, and more and more people will be unhappy.

If for instance you look at socialism, the only time people went to the streets was during 1968 when soviets intervened in Czechoslovakia.

Because socialist had feedback mechanism. You could legit complain and your complaint would legit get processed and fixed.
This is something a lot of countries don't have.

The only other time people went out was during velvet revolution, the most peaceful revolution the world has seen.
Literally the authoritarian commies just did nothing to stop the revolution.

Many people don't realize say france has Paris ablaze routinely.

There was a point last year or before that I can't remember; where the Republican slogan was "Let's make a red wave"

Simultaneously Trump was saying all the elections were a fraud.

So the people were being fed messages about taking the legislature by storm from the GOP propaganda apparatus, and that the elections are rigged from the Lone Wolf Trump; ultimately this lead to them getting destroyed in the midterm elections.

I think after that embarrassing defeat, the conservative electorate is gonna activate. Which is unfortunate because of course conservatives vote more on average anyways.

Oh well. I'm not sure shaming conservatives is gonna work. Democrats have to offer actual solutions to conservative bases.

Political narratives are so twisted, hardly worth even creating. We can characterize most people in government as sociopaths in some angles and sado masochistic victims in others. Local government is way better.

Well he was not wrong.
It was factually rigged and there was proof.

Democrats have to offer actual solutions to conservative bases.
Reps and Dems work for the same people, both parties have same goal.
People as such are not being represented in either party.
They divide populations as target audience in TV, each population watching their favorite show, to reel them in, and vote for criminal of choice.
Key strategic point is people fighting among each-other while the ship sinks.
Believing in savior.

Political narratives are so twisted, hardly worth even creating. We can characterize most people in government as sociopaths in some angles and sado masochistic victims in others. Local government is way better.
That is because local governments are not worth eroding, but governments are if working properly giving people power, hence why big elites erode governments to make them work against people.
Essentially you start from the head.

Because that is where the control is.

yes, but the rigging is from Trumps mob and that’s why he knows it’s there, he called for it. (Atlanta). Plus gerrymandering is the rig. If individual votes were counted and verified by Social security number to prevent errors and duplicates that would work better. The fact that congress hasn’t tried to fix that and get rid of gerrymandering is suspicious.

Well he was not wrong.
It was factually rigged and there was proof.

You're going to have to link me to whatever your referring too. Here in the states there is so much dense noise surrounding politics. Even independent media reports on menial dramatic bullshit to get clicks.

Yeah, real unfortunate the founding fathers didn't foresee that corporations would be considered legal entities equal to humans. Kinda skews the pendelum in one direction for power. It doesn't matter who gets elected. They become an agent of corporations, sometimes not even US owned corporations.

Surely Big daddy Mr. Trump will drain the swamp and reinstitute, law and order in from the lowest to highest levels.

That was a while ago. They were really at peek power back then imo. The relationship between Government and Tech companies is push and shove rn. They of course have so much data, it's scary to think about, but they're pretty much in kahoots at this point, because all the government has to do is ask for your information.

I think Tech companies have tried to revert to soft power recently to avoid the ire of the mob. Windows is going fucking crazy and doing whatever it wants, and no one is going to stop it because "AI" might change everything. You know, they only have like 75% of market share.

LMAO because rapid expansion and few anti-trust laws did so well for us in the gilded age. Holy fuck this economy is going to be a calamity if everyone just sits on their ass.

Pushing the economy down, will happen, as it will be convenient for the rich.
They first need to secure their investments.
Having poor people makes for easy gains, because then people have to shut up and put up with stuff even more. Then pulling the poor plebs out of the shit, makes them heroes.
Its actually pretty nice trick, rinse and repeat.

I wouldn't say it's that dog eat dog world. If you sellout, and you trained yourself to be an asset in the 22nd century, people with money would definitely bankroll your living.

I swear everyone bought into the idea that education diploma is how you stand out. Turns out school isn't that hard, because all you need is a letter grade, now everyone has payed for very expensive pieces of paper, and the next generation is essentially in debt to banks.

Nothing matters. The state always gets its way and the people have been empirically shown to have close to zero impact on public policy. They still have to put on a show for us, though, to prevent us from chimping out when times get too hard. I can go into detail in a later post about why it is I have come to these conclusions.
