Any of you guys playing Torchlight 2? I've been hyped for this game for a while now, and it seems to live up to expectations.

Can it run on an over 10 year old PC? This thing doesn't even have enough space for it! :D

I doubt it.

Get a new PC, you loser. You can have my i7 if you want. I'm due an upgrade.

Yeah I just played with a buddy for 6 or 7 hours today. Holy crap berserkers are ridiculous. Almost zero investment in vitality, and I'm just rampaging through the front lines on the hardest difficulty.

I'm having a lot of fun with this one. Have only tried outlander so far, and am finding it to be much better overall than D3

Try the demo on their website. If you buy the game, it imports your characters that you started.

And yes, in my highly biased opinion, the game is mind-blowingly good. Probably the best in the genre. Better than Diablo 2. (I know that is blasphemy to some.) An order of magnitude better than Diablo 3. I played like 20 hours in my two days off, and I haven't gamed that much in years. It really starts to take off around the end of Act 1 when the difficulty picks up and you start to accumulate enough skills to make combat really hectic (I started an Embermage on Veteran difficulty).

But it's the old school ARPG formula, and it's not particularly innovative other than it takes the best aspects of a ton of ARPGs and polishes each feature to an extreme. So if you don't already like these loot-exploding clickfests, I can see how you might be underwhelmed by the game.

That said, don't take my word for it. They have a demo and the game is only $20.

I never played Diablo, but the consensus seems to be yes. For starters, it's got offline singleplayer and LAN modes in addition to online play. No auction house, obviously. The game's designed to be playable on low-powered pcs, but it also looks great on my moderately powerful laptop. Loot is satisfying and complex. Combat is fun, hectic, and HARD once you get a little bit in. The modding community is active, so you can expect a good amount of extra content. All for 20 bucks.

Oh, and you can wield cannons.
