So today in history class I only managed to answer half the questions on a pop quiz in time. I wrote at my normal pace figuring I'd easily pass it in before the time limit (the whole test was answering questions with a few sentences). When I was half way done the teacher said 2 minutes left (only time we got a heads up on the time limit during the whole quiz) so after the quiz I asked for more time. I was declined it because i don't have a learning disability pass but the kid who didn't finish who had one was allowed to.
I think this is absolute bullshit basing whether I can continue or not on if I have a learning disability. What if I need more time to word what I wanna put down because my tendency is to word things precisely as possible? Plus anyone can probably get one of those passes since there is such a grey area on being able to get one. The whole reasoning behind it is so anecdotal that it hurts my head. Why must such strict rules exist? Using them in such a strict way is only bound to have negative effects on people such as myself. Has anyone had any similar experiences?

I think the teacher should have given you a heads up at the halfway point, a two-minute warning is kind of lame.

I think in the job world, though, part of doing the work is learning to prioritize information and allot time proportionally to projects based on their value. Sometimes that means doing an adequate job on something that only needs an adequate investment to meet the actual goal, while saving your best work for the tasks that actually need that level of investment. That ability to generalize well (to get a point across without having to explain in great detail) is extremely important in the information age, where there is often a lot of data to sift through. you only need the finely balanced work and underlying detail where it really counts.

IOW, it doesn't much bother me. When I took tests back in school, I would always keep an eye on the clock, scan the entire test first to get a sense of where my efforts would need to be focused, got in "bare minimum" answers to everything, then proceeded to take the rest of the time to flesh stuff out until the clock ran out. This approach seemed to serve me well.

Objects in the mirror might look closer than they
Next time be enough street smart to get one and stop complaining.
You remember me of some girls i had in my class when i was younger, everybody were copying in the exam, and of course i was one of them, yes, blantanly copying directly from one of our books. The trio of girls told the teacher we were copying and that it was unfair that we got better marks than them.
Well .... live and let die.

yeah it ain't fair

but you can go and get yourself an add diagnosis if you want one dude, so long as you fulfill some of the criteria, which you probably do if you're an intp (are ya?)

other than that I can see why you'd be annoyed but you should always remember to keep track of time

Yea I thought about that but there's no point in getting one at this point since I'm on my last year of high school. INTP by the way

Well maybe you can get benefits later on? I have an ADD diagnosis, studying at university level atm, and though I've never asked for it, I can get more time on tests if I want to, and I can get notes taken for me from the lectures lol.

Wow i didn't think they would give special benefits in college too. Thought they would just tell you to suck it up and say it is what it is. I definitely wanna be diagnosed now. I was actually tested for it back in kindergarten because the teacher said I was always staring off in class. Doctor said i didn't have it though. I remember the lady told me 3 things to remember then had be draw a picture. After I drew the picture she asked me to state the 3 things she told me to remember and I remembered 2. I don't remember what else they did but i wonder if me remembering those 2 things made them say I didn't have it.

I had... an identical experience with a writing test like this, this semester. And I am constantly annoyed by timed math tests. I feel ya! I kind of feel disrespected by these kinds of tests!

First: the enemy of completion is perfection.

Second: if it's so damned easy to get a disability pass, then get one and stop complaining that others have an unfair advantage.
