I'm trapped in a vicious circle of lazy. I procrastinate, postpone, just plain fail to do things. I generally have a very low level of productivity, even for fun stuff. However, I would like this to change. Do you, who undoubtedly share these characteristics to some extent, have any tips for good literature or strategies to master laziness?

BTW: The only times when i actually am somewhat productive are when i do something for someone else. Like if it is helping someone.

I'm having the same issue right now. Where I am, it's nearly noon, I'm still in my pajamas, and I have no idea what I want to do today. This is why I don't like having days off from school. I never get anything done.

Where i am it is 8 p.m. and i just stood up two hours ago. Of course my laptop was in arms-reach of the bed, so the first to hours after awaking i didn't even have to leave the bed...Oh and it is easier for the eyes to let them adjust to laptop-display-light than to the room lights...:p:D

Yeah, I share them. My strategy is to go in a room without a computer or any other distractions when I need to get something done...after I've hung out with my laptop for a few hours of course...;)

I love mondays. The weekends actually feel more strenuous, even though, or because, I hardly do anything. I find it hard to make a schedual which includes meaningful activities, and then stick to it. I spent the past weekend browsing the web at 2 am and eating breakfast at 1 pm, while I watched the seventh season of The Simpsons in its entirety. The Simpsons are always fun, but I remember the weekend with dread. Its lack of stimuli got me nervous.

Hahah. All my work gets done on a Sunday night, starting at about 8pm. I usually have between four and six hours' worth of homework every weekend, too, so it doesn't all get done. Ever. Oh well. I think that I managed to watch the entire second season of Scrubs this weekend, too, as well as Princess Mononoke. Now I]that[/I] was a damn productive Saturday. :D

I find that I have little pockets or productivity, though, and when one shows up, I leap on it and do whatever I want to do least. I got about half the Irish oral preparation I needed to do in one of those, as well as a storyboard I needed for my college portfolio. It's way easier to keep going when you're already going, so bring some food and drink to your desk and make sure nothing's going to disturb you and that you won't have to get up for anything before you start. For me, straight through works best. Hope it helps.

Yep, I'm generally horrible at this. I even procrastinate fun. I sometimes think I put fun things off 'cause I think I'll enjoy them more if I wait, which is reeeealy stupid of me. :(

I think it's quite obvious that the majority of INTPs share the same lax, procastinating attitudes :P, and I'm certainly no exception.
My laziness is actually one of the contributers to my sadness of late. I start all these projects, and there's all these things I want to learn and all these things I want to achieve, but I can't because get anything done. I'm too damn lazy (and addicted to the internet...) and it just really gets me down in the dumps sometimes (among other things). Oh well.

It helps, at the beginning, to say "I'll just do this for ten minutes." Then, at the end of what seems to be ten minutes, look at the clock and say "Just until the clock hits a nice round number... turn of the hour... until a certain song plays on the radio... until until until.

You may find that it is exceptionally successful at keeping you in bed every morning. ;) Try it for study/work/projects/resolutions.
