Hi all,
I'm still really quite new to this typology stuff, so I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense at all. But for the last couple of days I've been thinking about tidyness, and how it relates to the Jungian functions.
Now, originally when I was first looking into this typology stuff, I was under the false impression that J/P was related to how tidy someone was. However, after reading about the Jungian functions, my understanding is that J/P is less important by themselves, but more on how they relate to which functions you rely on.
So, as a sort-of experiment, I've been looking at people who I've identified xxxJ's, and seeing how tidy they are, and figuring out how this could relate to the functions. This is what I've observed:
Flatmate 1 (INTJ, Ni-Te) - Not tidy at all. His room as always a mess, and generally makes a huge mess of the flat in general.
Flatmate 2 (ISTJ, Si-Te) - Keeps her own room tidy, but does not care at all about the mess that occurs in the external world. This can go to the extreme of her vaccuming herself a path to the fridge, while the rest of the flat is a huge mess.
Friend/Mother (ESFJ Fe-Si) - Everything, everywhere must be tidy at all times. If there is a mess it must be cleaned up. They don't generally understand how people can stand living in messes.
So, my theory is that those with a strong Si must have a clean environment in order to be happy. Combine that with a strong Fe, ESFJ's (and possibly ISFJ's) try to clean up every possible mess to make everyone else happy as well.
Also, if my theory is correct, how could this relate to INTP's who also have Fe and Si in their functional stack, but on the lower end?
