At the bus stop when a guy asks if I know when his bus is due, I'm all like "nah, youknow, sorry"..

He thanks me anyway, and goes to strike up conversation, but I see him checking me out, so turn my back to him, like the anti social git that I am.

But then it dawns on me that I've just downloaded the bus app, so I might as well help him.

I go tell him, and he thanks me again, and strikes up conversation.. he seems like a really nice guy, he asks my name, and for my number, but then the bloody bus turns up -_-

Ahh.

Maybe see him tomorrow at the same time?

Yeah, unfortunately. It pretty much sums up most of my love life. Miss opportunity and never see them again, or we'll just go and sit right there in the friend zone and stay quiet for months and just never say anything.

So, I mentioned a trip to the doctors about a dodgy throat. Its been increasingly feeling like it's constricted, or being poked by a chicken bone or something over the last 8-12 weeks.

Docs said "Dunno, come back if its still there in January" and gave me some acid tablets.

Well.. it's just getting worse, so I just looked on the internet, apparently loads of people have been suffering the same.. but mostly undiagnosed.

Some diagnoses however do include: Allergies, Acid reflux, muscle contraction.. and problems with the lymphatic system.

If I had to guess, I'd say mine was probably muscles.

I don't suffer heartburn or bad acid as far as I know (I'd know right?!)

But it does feel like the ligaments leading down my throat are being.. tugged.

Fuck.

Dr Google does like to tell you the worst case scenarios, usually. My neighbour found that he was going to die of some muscle debilitating disease but it turned out to be hay fever. I wouldn't even hazard a guess from what you've said. But if it's getting worse, go back. Tell them whatever they gave you didn't work and it still got worse.

Cooking rice is far to annoying so I blame that. I'm honestly considering investing in a fancy rice cooker just to not have to cook rice.

It still requires me to be attentive so I don't burn the pot or ruin the rice. Everything else I make for food I don't have to be all that attentive to.

A rice cooker supposedly makes the rice "perfectly", stops when it's done and is made of special material that doesn't burn the rice.

I started donating plasma to satisfy my need to have a vein punctured. I have beautiful arm highways that are constantly asking to be poked, often at inappropriate times. At the donation center the needle is a big, fat, scary looking thing, not as gentle of a popping feeling as the insulin syringes you get at the pharmacy.. The good thing is I no longer have to go through the experience of painfully asking the person at the counter for syringes and watching them pause with a serious expression, probably thinking "I know you don't have diabetes, and I know what you'll be using these for, but I'll sell them to you anyway because nowadays I'm required to". Once, by accident, I shamelessly asked for "rigs" instead of using proper terminology. I've never seen a pharmacist with such a look of disappointment..
I should've known this would be a future problem when years ago a nurse administering me a saline solution in the ER looked at my arms and said, "we call that nurse porn cuz I could hit those things from across the room.. Here lately I've been curious about phlebotomy now. I have penetrated people in a non-medical setting (their veins I mean, hehe), and sometimes when I see other people's veins I imagine us suddenly getting into an emergency situation where I have to IV them something.
