When I keep trying to solve some hypothetical issues(playing around with stocks and acquiring illegal goods primarily) I keep running into the problem of requiring contacts and thus social interaction as an optimal solution, but social interaction is one of two issues I am incapable of solving.

If I miss or delay my intake of caffeine, ever, my head will ache. EVERY time. This does not change.

But I never learn.

This seems really stupid to me.

U.S. Olympic champion Michael Phelps is set to be slapped with a hefty tax bill upon returning from the games in Rio de Janeiro. The U.S. awards gold medal winners $25,000 in prize money, $15,000 for silver and $10,000 for bronze. This is subject to income tax. According to Americans for Tax Reform, gold medal winners would be subject to $9,900 in taxes; $5.940 for silver and $3,960 for bronze - assuming the highest tax bracket. Phelps won five gold medals and one silver, bringing his tax bill over $55,000. TheStreet's Scott Gamm speaks with Kitco News editor-in-chief Daniela Cambone.

Not that I give a shit about Michael Phelps, even if he's from / lives in my city. (At least he did. I guess he sold the apartment he had in Fells Point, about 5-6 miles from here, two years ago or something.)

Basically some folks here work their asses off to train, they represent our country in a world event that the USA tries to take some of the credit for, and then they hit them for 40% taxes on their winnings, which doesn't really compare to their training costs over the years and the investments they've made? Also, it's not like a cottage industry -- it only happens every two years nowadays (depending on event) and only three people can win a medal in an event, and they are not even obligated to be from the USA. So it's a very small limited scenario versus a huge loophole that people can exploit regularly.

I know it probably doesn't matter, since that money is not even a decent-sized portion of what a medalist is going to pick up on corporate and community endorsements after they come home. It's more the thought of it that seems stupid to me.

I'm usually of the opinion that if I met myself on the road I would get along swimmingly with me.

Very recently it is becoming more and more apparent that if I ever found myself in a room with me that I would probably fight myself to the death, or at least until one of me flees. Or can no longer speak.

I think I might just annoy the fuck out of myself.

This is probably good to know, just in case.

I wish my aunty wouldn't put my baby cousins face through those stupid 'pretty' photo filters, and post them to facebook. She's six, but they give her the aura of a 8 year old beauty pageant queen, and that's an industry I'm completely opposed to in relation to it's involvement in the sexualisation of children.

They're changing fast youknow, and this is coming from a 90's baby.

Thus, because he lays down a poetic assumption about people, his thesis about how certain populations were even capable enough to conquer other populations has no proper theoretical assumptions other than postmodern gobbledygook.

Anyone such as Jared Diamond can be critiqued if they have some part of their analysis that doesn't work. But to dismiss him out of hand in all regards, doesn't do the breadth of his work any justice. For instance, the disease drivers of dominating human populations ala "Guns, Germs, and Steel" has NOTHING to do with any assumptions about intelligence at all, nor were they a part of that book.

Update (which no one requested): I found the evidence just in the nick of time but then GET THIS, pulled it out my pocket on accident with my phone in front of everybody

-_-

Haha.

My lie was apparently good enough tho.

The OTHER pocket, Sinny. The evidence goes in the pocket you don't hafta fish things out of. ;)

Good job with the quick cover though... always help to have one of those ready to go.

Haha, I know I know, I usually wouldn't make such a rookie mistake but I was up against the clock.

One friend bought the cover story , whilst another laughed at the one who bought the (rather poor) story, but she didn't grass thankfully, and neither pushed the issue.

I tried several energy drinks and I found one that actually kinda works.(Powerade) The key thing I think is that unlike all the other energy drinks this one lacks caffeine. I swear that caffeine just makes me more lethargic...

dem electrolytes :smoker:

they're classed as a sports drink, rather than energy drink

also, the bottles make good bongs

caffeine's energy wears off quick (and it's not really a very productive kind of energy either, it results in more scattered thought processes; it's enjoyable though, I find). and yeah, regular caffeine consumption would be expected to reduce energy levels over time.

i find energy drinks with taurine in them to produce a more spaced-out effect. not quite lethargic, but more "deer stuck in headlights". (for me, anyway)

caffeine generally makes it hard for me to get to sleep. apart from the caffeine fix in the morning, i wouldn't really say it makes me "more awake" though. gives me a lot of "nervous energy" though, if that can be counted at all as being "more awake".

RockStar Punched (the red one) was my girlfriend for YEARS.

These things are mercilessly habit forming (was at six a day when I finally stopped), and have artificial sweeteners and heaps o' sugar. And when they go on sale for 2@ $4 it would be irresponsible not to buy a stack of them. And drink them all.

I went all Huey Lewis over 'em in 2014 or so and went back to good ol' black coffee with an Aeropress for a while but then something magical happened...

Nescafe Instant Espresso. Currently my caffeine delivery system of choice. I can hear your eyes rolling but I'm dead serious. It's possibly the most coffee-like of all the instants (i find it quite inoffensive) and it's like... wow zooo0m.

Hydration and electrolytes are important. The instant espresso has none of that, or vitamins. Just the crack.

how much is 6 cans, 1.5L or 3L?

I was at 1L a day for a while (2 500mL cans). currently I get caffeine from multiple sources, whether it be energy drinks, coke/mountain dew or just regular ol' coffee.

Actually, the only caffeine I have in the house at the moment... is Nescafe instant coffee. So I might roll my eyes at you suggesting that I would roll my eyes that you would be drinking instant coffee, since I drink instant coffee. :P

Actually, that's a lie - I also have Moccona instant coffee in the house. It's been sitting there a while though so I'll probably be sticking with the Nescafe for now.

500ml cans so 3L. It starts to taste different (almost like medicine) when you've finally had "too much". Wow... 3L what was I even thinking.

I'm a bit of a coffee snob, so whenever anyone says anything about coffee to me at all I roll my eyes... I tend to project reaction on everyone else. ;)

I haven't had much in the way of Nescafe Instant coffee, but you specifically want their instant Espresso. Vroom-vroom party starter.

And then the inevitable dehydration. (coconut water to the rescue!!)

Dunno whether to renew my EA Origin access to continue playing Dragon Age n shit or not.

On the one hand, it's cheap and tempting. On the other, do I really want to recluse myself gaming again for a few weeks? ..

Yes.

.. But I shouldn't.

I should face the world.

Because sitting on my arse for days at a time makes me feel stagnant and self loathing.

What other time of day is worth watching videos about satanism and demons?

I typically find myself sitting in bed in the dark on my laptop watching Mr. Nightmare YouTube vids, and then linking to the craziest shit.

You can link up to a lot of other crazy stuff that will make you scared to run the bathroom at 1am. :D

I think the actual heavy handed enforcement of all this anti-burka shit is down right Orwellian https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/aug/24/french-police-make-woman-remove-burkini-on-nice-beach

The French are fools. They pass laws to marginalize and control Muslims, demeaning them in schools regarding their manner of dress. Small wonder some Muslims end up wanting to kill French people. We have some laws in the USA based on practical realities, like you can't be wearing a face mask if a police officer asks you for a driver's license. But it's not about saying your burqa isn't ok, it's about saying it's getting in the way of a legitimate governmental function.

"Assimilate or else we'll arrest you" just makes people hate you.

Bvan just shows how far we have fallen as a civilization. Jihadists speak in explicitly ideological terms, and he just ignores it and gives them excuses they never asked for. What is the common thread of all Jihadist attacks? Noncompliance with Shariah. Not poverty, as attacks happen between rich people. Not discrimination, as attacks happen within all kinds of societies. Not foreign policy, as attacks happen against people who are not citizens of any country involved in shady Middle Eastern policy. Indeed, they focus on Western decadence, as in the cases of concert, cartoon, and nightclub attacks; as well as infidel religious groups, such as Jews and Yazidis.

Believe me, Islamophobia is the biggest myth in our culture. The media would love to report on Westerners doing bad things to Muslims, and they demand all Westerners be held to account for hateful language and social bullying. But when Muslims do even worse things, such as kill us, they are quick to defend Muslims and say they have no collective responsibility. The media can't even find one thing to compete with Muslims slaughtering Westerners.

CIA contractors, the Clinton Foundation and Haliburton?!

Noncompliance with Shariah.

Apparently not.

No. The Zionists want Christianity to turn on Islam, for Islam to turn on 'Christianity' and for Atheists to turn on both. They want us to destroy ourselves, so they don't have to.

Quit seeking an external enemy when the deadliest lies within.

Yes. Unbeknownst to them, if they lack the education.

Watch the Batman Vs Superman movie. The first half hour spells it all out for you.
It's not a secret anymore, it's a running joke... Look at how easy it was to manipulate Batman even.

Because even rational people like yourself are stuck in false paradigms, unable to see past your indoctrination.

You think small, whilst the global engineers think BIG.

I'm not fucking scared of 'Islam', I'm scared of the Elite and what they plan next.

The elite are pushing my wages down, whilst my local Islamic community practically feed people for free.... There is another dangerous 'Islamic' community across Town, but that's become a ghetto for despots, which the police refuse to manage.

People are people. Good people are good people, bad people are bad people, and I don't care for lumping them all in together under such broad terms. That's fucking moronic.

Worse.

Doesn't it just give the Establishment an excuse to implement authoritarian policies to solve the conflict?

Yes.

So don't you think we should be focusing on the puppet masters, rather than the puppets?

Many people say that they can't be bothered with politics, and would rather maintain their own immediate bubbles.. But unfortunately we're living in an era where we as a collective have to become political, otherwise humanity will become enslaved to the point of no return, on our watch.

If you have children, think of them. Look at the world being shaped around around us. Do you like where it is heading?

There are only a few generations who have the knowledge of the old world to pass onto the new. People need to pass the baton, and it would help if they had their facts right.

Did bringing down HW mean an end to the New World Order, or did the people elect a new iteration?

Politics is downstream from culture. That's why Hollywood is infinitely more powerful than any politician.

A few moments ago whilst tidying the kitchen, I moved a bottle of habanero sauce.

Without thinking about it, I then went to spend a penny.

The chilli burn on my Johnson is exquisite.

I'm big in to my chillies and hot sauces.

I grew some Scotch Bonnets one year. "No worries - I got this, bruh" I told my dad as I chopped one in half and popped the biggest segment into my mouth.

For about .5 of a second, the taste was divine. Very fruity.

Then, pain. Lots and lots of pain.

Mercifully, my face eventually went numb and stayed that way for somewhere between 20-30 minutes.

... I haven't made the same mistake since.

This is true... albeit I'd have to go "out there" for more hot sauce, and I've been out there already today... there's nothing out there (apart from smoldering remains of my extrovert costume).

I'm a little more passive-aggressive/subtle about my alpha proclamations. Maybe we can tag it on our toast with a sharpie and send it back to the kitchen.

Yeah more than once. It's like if you don't take off the mask fast enough they think you're someone else just long enough that once the mask is off and the missile launch cannot be aborted they still can't see that you're putting WD40 on the door hinges.

They're usually riding shotgun with someone I don't hate, and then they just... integrate somehow. And then eventually I have to be a massive jerk. There's the odd one I don't mind so much - these are rare but they do happen.

Currently thinking about how I can contact Bronto without him thinking I am a Tool.

Bronto was one of the more interesting people on this site right up there with THD, Sinny, The guy who use to burn himself but doesn't anymore, Lot, Artsu and a few more out of the ones I actually engaged with. Just my opinion ofc.

Why would he assume you're a tool?

It's perfectly acceptable to get in touch with someone with "Hey, I hope you don't mind me getting in touch. I enjoyed our interactions on INTPf and wondered if you'd mind discussing a few things some time?"

If I may, I'd advise that you stop worrying about what people may or may not think of you. If you think you made a decent connection with the guy (or at least saw the beginnings of something along those lines), seize it. We NTs don't tend to truly connect with a great many people. I've found that it's almost always prudent to cling on for dear life if you do.

Life is too short. Go for it.
