Why would he assume you're a tool?

It's perfectly acceptable to get in touch with someone with "Hey, I hope you don't mind me getting in touch. I enjoyed our interactions on INTPf and wondered if you'd mind discussing a few things some time?"

If I may, I'd advise that you stop worrying about what people may or may not think of you. If you think you made a decent connection with the guy (or at least saw the beginnings of something along those lines), seize it. We NTs don't tend to truly connect with a great many people. I've found that it's almost always prudent to cling on for dear life if you do.

Life is too short. Go for it.

As curt as you are here, I have to agree. Bronto and I used to hate each other, then it was just sorta a I leave you alone, you leave me alone type of thing. But during that time I started to see just reading his posts that there is a lot of backstory to pretty much every post he made, and for that, I really respect the guy.

Not sure how to contact him.. I suppose I can try and get some info from cola, but its kinda the same thing with cola in that I really don't at all know if they hate me or not. Does hurt to ask I suppose.

No curtness intended. Apologies. Just my usual NTJ thing of being a bit brief I guess.

Historically I have found that forums are weird in the way they affect behaviour. If you remove the forum layer and contact them as 'another human being', I'm sure your inquiries will be met favourably.

I know that if someone were to contact me in a similar manner, I'd actually be flattered - regardless of what may have happened on 'a stupid forum'.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained good sir. Worst case scenario: they tell you to go fuck yourself. Cool beans - you now know they're straight up cunts and not worth bothering with anyway.

I can't see that being the case, though.

Best of luck with it :)

Do you ever just end up with people in your life and then wonder how they became people in your life?

I tend to just assume that it was some kind of conspiracy.

When I keep trying to solve some hypothetical issues(playing around with stocks and acquiring illegal goods primarily) I keep running into the problem of requiring contacts and thus social interaction as an optimal solution, but social interaction is one of two issues I am incapable of solving.

My cousin turned around to me yesterday and said ... "Cuz.. You're good with the internet, you can look up what we need .. I was thinking we need bicarbonate soda, or something"

I'm like "What the fuck do you need that for?"

"So we can cut it, youknow for making coke" ..

Me, *raises eyebrow*

.. "We can start cookin it and, youknow, be the next big timers around here"

.. Me, *shakes head in disbelief and returns to browsing the internet*

RIP bronto

you will be missed

:(

Wasn't the same bronto I knew in '13-'14, wondered what happened to him, seemed too prickly to ask. Just hope he's bumping Kanye right now

NAME ONE GENIUS THAT AIN'T CRAZY

Do you ever just end up with people in your life and then wonder how they became people in your life?
But that would require actually interacting with people? Or at least not being aware of the life I'm living.

Bvan just shows how far we have fallen as a civilization. Jihadists speak in explicitly ideological terms, and he just ignores it and gives them excuses they never asked for.

Hardly. I called out the French for being stupid to ban certain women's swimsuits on beaches. It wasn't that many decades ago, that the bans were going the other way, that women were wearing too little on the beach!

The rest of the stuff you brought up is an aimless rant, having nothing to do with what I said here. Although, this being a Random Thoughts thread, you've managed to be "on point". :D

I just complimented the young gentleman serving me at Costa on his fine man-beard.

He allowed me to stroke it.

It was a fine beard indeed.

Hence your appreciation for the beard in question. If you had just the right facial hair you could be sweeping up right now.

I figured out how to send some traffic through my broadband router and cause it to lock up, every time.

So I'm gathering data/evidence for analysis, and I have triggered the bug...

Netflix says "Loading 54%" and there's a frame of video frozen on my television screen as I sit in silence, waiting for the device to recover.

A single cricket is chirping outside my window and it is perfect.

So last night I was laying on my stomach with my left arm above my head, and my right crossed under me with my palm placed over my heart.. I was near sleep when I took a few seconds listen to and feel my heart beat .. when a couple of palpitations occurred, my heart skipped a few beats, the wind disappeared from me and then my heart palpitated so forcefully that I shot up and found my self on the other side of the bed.

Too many drugs?

Nah, probably not enough.

Wonderful, quoting some main symptoms of heart disease there.... Of course there are other things that could trigger it as well. If it continues, sounds like something to check out.

My mom has atrial fib, and I wonder if I've picked it up too. (My grandmother had it as well.) I haven't experienced symptoms recently, but over the winter I had a number of occurrences where I could just feel my heart suddenly kick up and rush out of control (where I was merely sitting at the time). A weird shaky sensation, and kind of unsettling.

Good nutrition, lots of water, and exercise will all help, of course. But let me try to tell you something you don't know.

If you take at least half a teaspoon of cayenne, that helps remove unnecessary clots in your vessels. Some people swear it saves their lives from infarctions, such as strokes and heart attacks. Kind of like nitroglycerin. Just use a little water to mix it and take a shot with a chaser. It also gives you energy from increased bloodflow.

And if you take about the same amount of cinnamon, it helps to stabilize your blood sugar. I take cinnamon whenever I have loaded up with too much carbs, prompting a semi-comatose state. I also take it when I veer too much into diabetes, such as when I lose some of my eyesight. It really does help me remedy my temporary partial blindness.

Ginger is also good for all kinds of maladies.

There are also all kinds of specialized tinctures you can try to find online, unless you want me to recommend some brand, that might be able to help you until you think it requires medical attention. I usually try my own health interventions and see if it will work to bring me a more solid state of health before I put my hands into medical professionals who are cynical enough not to believe that their patients can be responsible enough to be healthy without popping pills with side-effects.

Hm, I'll keep an eye on it. On the plus side, that should increase the chances of me dying in my sleep?

I don't care how or when I go, so long as it's quick and I don't really notice.

Cool, I'll add them to my to 'health do list'... which I'm currently working through at a steady space.

I've probably shocked my body these last couple of weeks with the sudden intake of vitamins and antioxidants.

Honey and ginger are part of my new green tea regime.

I think I'm feeling a bit better...

A private Muslim school in Sweden has introduced separate gym classes for boys and girls, saying that the girls were not able to take off veils or wear T-shirt if boys were present. The move was slammed by Swedish officials who call it unacceptable for an “open and tolerant country”.
That's amusing. Who would have thought that indiscriminate tolerance of all values would eventually result in conflicts with our own values?

TBerg - interest piqued x1000.

I have homozygous factor v lieden, which = 80 times higher chance to clot.

I've only had one in my life so far, and that was after a period of four days severe dehydration / inactivity (the mother of all stomach bugs), but as I get older the chance will obviously increase.

Any natural way to negate my blood's wish to clot and fuck me up would be a huge boon.

I'm supposed to be on warfarin for life, but I don't take it. Makes me feel bloody awful.

Basically, I'm one of the X-Men. Just a really shit one.

All those "home remedies" for heart stuff are great to know... but Sinny, you live in a country where you SHOULD just be able to go see a bloody doctor about it, at no particular cost to you, and get some tests done. And even if you weren't, like myself in North Carolina, there are free clinics for po folks. Seeing a doctor doesn't mean you have to follow their recommendations, but the information is good to have.

I went to deal with a shoulder injury that wasn't healing for a few months. They wanted to do a MRI, which is expensive. All I really wanted was exercises to rehab my shoulder. I blew them off, partly because I was going out of town for a month anyways, partly because I didn't want to be a cash cow for the clinic. I would have had to go through a lot of paperwork to make sure I'M not on the hook for that expensive MRI, and I couldn't be bothered. Plus I didn't think it was appropriate to have anyone paying for all that, when all I needed were some exercises. Since they didn't give me any, I just made up my own. My shoulder isn't healed yet but it's getting better.

Our doctors mostly suck.

You only get ten minutes or less whilst your in there and you can only discuss one ailment at a time.

It'll take more than a few palpitations to peak their interest enough to actually run some tests.

Took them two years to diagnose my slipped disk, and to this day they haven't even diagnosed my hip problem.

They just try to OD us on pain/loopy meds.

In addition to that.. I do ignore things..

... but I'm trying not to these days, at least.

So you go for your heart issue.

It'll take more than a few palpitations to peak their interest enough to actually run some tests.
I think what you're really saying is you find going to the doctor emotionally a pain in the ass. You don't want to deal with it, so you are making an excuse you think might be reasonably credible. I don't find it credible, but I'm not you.

Took them two years to diagnose my slipped disk, and to this day they haven't even diagnosed my hip problem.
I am not a doctor. For all I know, it may be easier to diagnose a heart condition than a slipped disk. I have a friend who's chasing around some kind of hip nerve problem, and it's not for lack of medical quality that it's difficult to get resolved.

They just try to OD us on pain/loopy meds.
Getting a diagnosis is not the same as accepting their course of treatment. I didn't go get the MRI for my shoulder. The doctor pushed and prodded my arm in various directions, confirming what I already knew, that my shoulder was fucked up somehow.

I met a guy who was rambling about trying to see his kid, a parole violation, blah blah. Said he drank coffee pretty much continuously during the day, and that it helped keep him "focused". I asked him if he'd ever been diagnosed with something like ADHD. He said he didn't want to be on ritalin. I said that coffee is gonna kill you man. Neither one of us were sure exactly how the coffee does damage, but I can't see how anyone could keep running their body that way indefinitely without consequences.

Do you mean Cloverdale, VA? It's 4 hours NE of Asheville, NC. So yeah I'm "anywhere" near it, it's road trippable. 500 miles round trip, $44 worth of gas at prevailing prices. What's going on up there?

Excitotoxicity via cortisol and epinepherine release.

But also, if it really does keep him focused, it's due to norepinepherine and acetylcholine release, so different mechanism than most ADHD meds anyway. Atomoxetine being somewhat of an exception as an NRI.

New terms for me. Reading wiki, I'm remembering he yabbered something about blood sugar level! Well he's fucked and I'll likely never see him again. But if I do I'll urge him to get to a doctor.
