Honestly, (and I'm not trying to distance myself from or make myself out to be better than you guys by saying this, its just the truth), I might have found that shit funny in my earlier teens and before actually having a serious relationship with a woman, but we should be more mature than that now. I realize you are just doing this as a retaliation to Minuend's upset post to get under their skin more because she called you out, and it makes sense, but as men, sometimes we need to act like it and just be the bigger person and let it go.

That shit is completely unnecessary, especially after the complaint Adaire just posted, (which was understandable, made sense, and was not unreasonable or irrational, as many other girls' might have been, [which further serves to prove her point, that the ladies here are not just the average girl]). If you are truly so twisted and childish that you find that stuff entertaining, pursue it on your own time, on your own computer, and don't put it where a girl has to see it. That bothers me, and if you were mature enough to be a man it would bother you too. It is incredibly degrading to women, a feeling that Minuend just recently stated she was tired of having to deal with, and one she shouldn't have to deal with at all.

I truly hope you guys manage to get the picture soon, before you make yourself out to look like little immature 12 year olds who still think its okay to pick on girls, if you haven't done that already. Do you guys realize that, when it comes down to it, what you are doing is tormenting girls and making them feel bad...online for fucks sake! I'm saying this to try to do you guys a favor...just let it go and drop it before you make yourselves out to look less like men and more like little boys than you already have. Or worse, make all the girls to dip out and leave the rest of us stranded here in an online sausage fest.

I appreciate the sentiment Cory, I do, but honestly this feels a bit like lip service. Please understand that I (and I wager I can speak for the others in this) don't expect or want acknowledgement or special treatment. INTP women aren't inherently special, the very concept of 'special' is subjectively derived anyway. I just want to be seen for what I am, positive or negative, not for what I am presumed to be. If what I am is completely predetermined by a few details I consider unimportant (being female, intp, etc) then what control do I have over how I am perceived? None, it makes my actions, my identity, and my words utterly meaningless, worthless.

Assuming an intp female is 'special' or better than other females, just by virtue of being intp and female is just as flawed (and depressing) as the logic behind the more negative generalizations about women. I do not to cherry pick the generalizations that operate in my favor. Thus I will not operate under or encourage the assumption that INTP women are somehow better than other women and I have no desire to be seen that light either.


I'm rather attached to place and seeing this mindset over and over again just gets to me after awhile.

What seems idiotic to me, is why it seems so many men complain about stereotypical women in the one place they'd be hard pressed to find any that even come close to the norms. Then they proceed to insult the woman there, and complain that they can't get the attention of any other woman aside from stupid bimbos. It's fairly straight forward to me, if you don't want the norm, don't go insulting the outliers and accuse them of being exactly like the norm.

Personally I like to take a certain pride and responsibility in my own flaws. My particular fails are my own, and have little to do with my genitalia. I mean if your going to insult me, please do so accurately, instead of assuming I must have a very specific set of flaws due to being female. I mean according to the stereotype I must talk to much, but people have to actively coax me into talk or I'll fall silent without fail, wandering off into my own little world. INTP females are completely divorced and alienated from the norms. Can't you understand at least a little bit, how frustrating it is that we can't even be recognized for our own faults, because we have the generalized ones pushed upon and expected of us? Even from other supposed INTPs, which by all rights 'should' be able to empathize, but no. Instead you choose to try to make us regret, to hate, being female. It's utterly dehumanizing. Fuck that noise.

and at it's core how is this any different from racism or other types of discrimination? How you manage to justify it in your heads is beyond me. Certainly all men can't be pathetic and weak enough to demonize women just to protect their egos and justify treating them as less than human?

Really though, my deepest, sincerest apologies for not having a penis guys. I can't thank you enough for supporting the ideas that have forced me to over compensate my entire life.

Male INTPs face the same BS and norms. It may be slightly easier to skate by, but we do face them. There ain't no star quarterbacks on this forum; that I can guarantee. I face them as a gay guy too. Random chicks think that I want to be their BFF and listen to all their stupid problems? No, thank you.

Most of the misogynistic assumptions are small grains of truth blown up with hyperbole. Men and women are different creatures, whether you like it or not. They can relate well, and some relate more than others, but there are fundamental psychological differences. Many of them are super annoying to us, but we learn to live with them, and the jokes are made by men to men about their shared frustrations with women. Even INTP women, believe it or not.

My best friend is a female INTP, as are several other women I know. I love them dearly, but their driving styles make me want to seppuku in the passenger seat. They will get pissy and deny it if you bring it up, but goddamn. All of them are also far prissier than me or my male friends, even though they are far less so than most other women. It is what it is. You love them for who they are, even if they do their fair share of annoying female BS.

And BTW, one of the expected female traits is, to put it colloquially, getting one's panties in a wad. So at least you can say you've got that going for you!

I had to witness, firsthand, and help her manage all the the.....effects....it had, all these years later, on her, and had to try to help her overcome that trauma. My bad for getting upset by this stuff and taking it seriously, hoping that maybe, just maybe, I can change a few guys attitudes so that someone else might not get hurt down the road.


Just by the way, I didn't seriously think you guys are "better" than any other girls, average or not, by virtue of jack. @Wish, I didn't expect anything to make anything better. I don't do things only if I am certain they will turn out the way I like. No, instead, I took it upon myself to try to rectify a situation within which I saw something wrong and was upset by. It is called taking action based on your values and moral beliefs. It's what men with testicles do. Though, admittedly, it would have been much more fun for me had I been given the chance to knock somebody's teeth in over something, as it so happens I found myself sitting at my computer with a bit of free time before the meeting I had in 10 minutes, so I decided to write something out in attempt to help out with the situation, if I could.

Also Wish, if you'd NOT had your head up your ass, you'd realize that, aha, oddly enough, I actually didn't have an attitude before, (weird right?). I hopped on this thread yesterday, made a few joking posts, then got off. Then, I saw that some of our very own girls were being upset by what I thought were supposed to be men, tried to help, and apparently failed. Then, I saw a girl post something that REALLY upset me, and saw her discomfort and unhappiness ignored and intentionally followed by some horribly ignorant shit, which just set me off.

What really upset me though, the reason for my final tirade, is this: Had the ladies simply not agreed with what I said, great. I don't think it is everyones responsibility to always agree with me. However, to devaluate the effort I put into an attempt to help them and to call it lip service, that is just quite disrespectful, and I really didn't appreciate it. So I attempted to explain that in my last post. A post that, as crazy as this may sound, did not concern you, Wish, or you Anthile, at all, let alone warrant matching displays of ignorance in the form of horrible, childishly foolish insults.

The attitude of keeping something hushed, luckily, thanks to, among others, stand up comedians and people letting go of a conservatist attitude in general, is beginning to fade. Wether I find any humor in certain topics, in this case humor of a very dark nature, is besides the point (all though, I have to admit I'm particularly weak for very dark humor if done intelligently). There will be good and bad humor in all categories. My point is that by making topics taboo it will only work to make it worse and more heated. One should take life a little less seriously, and comedy is a good way to go about it and a great way, if used properly, to disarm heated topics laying the foundation to approach "serious" topics more cool headed later on.
A large part of growing up imo, contrary to common belief, is exactly that; to threat things less seriously with the acknowledgment of life's absurdity. How seriously can you really take a life as ridiculous as this? Also, you'll have more fun that way:P
Where I've come from, we have always been encouraged to say everything on our minds, to talk about everything, joke about everything - which explain why I don't particularly like things to get hushed down.. of course, you are free to joke about that too

If you've hung around for a while, I think it should be painfully obvious that most members joke around about most offensive things.

The issue Auburn addressed was the increasing women bashing on this forum which may be disguised as harmless fun, but which you can clearly tell have some belief behind it. Mentioning this in first post implemented this thread with associations that might have been unfortunate for it's progression. If you head over to the arena, there are sandwich jokes in the boys vs girls thread but nobody is being offended by it because it's context it clearly non-serious.

This could have went without being said, but i can guarantee the women that the men here aren't including you in their generalizations, even if they really do think that, because i doubt any of them have even encountered a real intp female and seriously doubt they have had an intimate relationship with one. It is tainted statistics.

It isnt even necessarily just intp women though, even a lot of girls that appear to fit in the generalization, probably just dont know what they really want in a relationship so they do like any person would, look for whoever was the most fun, you cant impress any girls if you sit there frowning like you shit your pants, complaining in your head because you think they just want fame and fortune.

When it really comes down to it, money isn't so bad is it, you cant just be a bum and expect anyone to like you, so why would a girl. Even if you were the most chauvinistic person in the world, wouldn't you have to realize that even though women might want a man with money... You're the man aren't you? You're so masculine, isnt it you job to go bring home the bacon? Well do it and stop complaining so much and maybe you're wife would want to have sex more often?

And on the other side, the women need to see that while you don't fit you're gender roles, most of us guy probably don't either, i personally despise sports, and even openly protest it whilst sitting among other friends who are talking about it. I have no interest in any appearance, i am skinny and pale, let my hair do whatever, i wear pretty much whatever i damn well please, preferring comfort over any kind of fashion or appeal. I am not a very becoming person.. I know i must have been a sight back when i was in school, certainly not an approachable fellow for a young lady, and i definitely never went chasing after them. Anyway, my point being that while you girls feel pressure from everyone to be more like a girl, most of us guys probably have the same pressure to be more masculine.

Luckily i skated by on indifference, never being in a serious relationship until now, i am only 20 but i like to think i have a very healthy outlook on relationships, being oblivious to the opposite sex despite being surrounded by them every day helps me just really not care to generalize them. That is not to say i didnt care about girls at all, i just never really cared enough to focus.

And my grand finale is telling the big secret, what women, not girls, want. They just want someone who cares about them.. its really that easy, my girlfriend is the most sweet person i have ever met in my life, i would have never expected to be with someone like her. What makes it such an amazing bond is that, neither of us ever really intended to be in a relationship together, we met online, she was seeing someone, and i was indifferent to relationships, and i was just a good friend, someone who was there for her, and just genuinely cared about her. Eventually we just developed a relationship and she wanted me more than him, he was the one who ended up breaking up with her (which had happened a few times) but when he went to get her back, she stayed with me despite having only really talked on the computer.

She does expect quite a few things of me, mostly getting a job and going to college, but hell.. even i expect myself to get a job.. i have pretty much never had a consistent job, and haven't had any work at all in probably 2 years. (Its hard out there for an intellectual in a hillbillies world) Yet this only further conveys my point that the generalizations are blind, if you want a nice woman, who will be everything you ever wanted, step one, assassinate Dick Masterson, step two, dont fool around with a bunch of hos or you might get stuck with some crazy bitch.

Now then, i was about to go into a longer discussion about how important it is for both men and women to realize that relationships keep growing, you will never find a decent relationship if you just "test the water" with a bunch of people instead of putting in effort with one decent person, but frankly, i am done talking, i grow bored.

I almost doubt anyone will have seriously read all of what i have said anyway LOL, but if anyone gets down to this point, know that i wasnt necessarily directing the "male advice" or whatever towards the intp gentlemen here, its for all those trolling scallywags, im sure most of the intp tomfoolery has been in jest as mentioned before. Well, someone has to say it: That hippo has a nice ass. I can only hope it doesn't think I'm objectifying it, as I recognize its other positive qualities (strength, aggressiveness, a real 'go-getter', able to kill most annoying things <--- a real plus in a long-term relationship). Sometimes hippos take compliments too seriously, or think they aren't genuine. They should know not to pay attention to those magazines with the zebras on the cover. Sure zebras are cute n' all, but it's no reason for a hippo to feel insecure. Most of those zebras are bitches with no personality. One time, a zebra had the audacity to reject my advances. Stupid creatures.

it is soooooooooo hard for me to relate to shit like this.

it's like, on the one hand, i am female, so it's like i expect myself to care about stupid generalizations made on my sex. but on the other hand, i'm still a fairly masculine personality who hangs out almost exclusively with a group of guys, grew up with three brothers, etc., and i don't have any real sense of "girl power" or whatever. so i don't really care at all, and even agree with some of those negative stereotypes sometimes (girls are bitches goddammit), so it's a rather confusing position to be in.

So are you suggesting that the woman in picture number 2 doesn't exist? I find they're pretty common, actually. I happen to know someone married to the ultimate stereotypical nightmare woman, so I tend to get a kick out of these things.

Also, is it evil that I forward him these little cartoons when I find them? He laughs on the outside, then dies a little more on the inside. Men are trapped by such creatures everyday. These guys should have a charity created for them.

Make no mistake, if the mental abuse he's exposed to on a daily basis were to somehow show up as physical injury, he'd be a walking nightmare of blood and guts by now.

In summary, not every women is a beautiful creature. There are some that literally suck the life out of their men. Why can't we poke fun at them?
