You're not 'diagnosed' INTP, it's not an illness.

You're just one of us. Slightly weird to the social norm? Perhaps, but that's because we're a minority, not because we're cray.

(Ok, I admit, we might be slighly crazy.)

I can remember conversations I had when I (an INFJ) was 14 with another 14 year old whom is INTP. ... Interesting combination that was. :cat:
INTPs aint that weird when contrasted with INFJs or ENFPs.
What is a Q.I. test?

A Quite Interesting test, you don't know it? They even have a TV show of it, hosted by Stephen Fry. Fun to watch.

And we might not be as weird (we just don't show it), but we're way more different.

The basic of personality is well developed about 7/8 yo. It's not surprising be typed with 14 or even less.

(By recollection)I have the INTP traits since I was about 7/8 yo. In the past I knew I was intelligent compared to others people (from my age and older), but I didn't know about Jung/MBTI and I was complete ignorant about why my mind was different from the others. I wonder what I could accomplish if I'd discovered MBTI earlier in my life (I discovered about 1 and half year ago).

I think MBTI is a powerful tool specially to the NT's types. The MBTI seems almost useless to the other types.

I think the main cause for this problem is not the interests of types. But the lack of accurate information reflecting these types. I know all kinds of people whom are greatly interested in the phenomenon of MBTI, but I can't help them as within their perspective of thinking, there is too less information to feed their interest. This is also a main purpose for the kind of posts I make. I want to understand and elaborate the very principles of MBTI, so it can then be explored within all perspectives. (Also those of STJs and EFs etc.)

OP in hindsight I displayed MANY INTP traits as a child (now 19). There are some MBTI resources online which talk about the developmental stages for each type as they are all different to various degrees.

I just wouldn't be too keen to 'box' yourself in to any particular character mould. If you've correctly typed yourself then it is unlikely that your type itself may change but the extent to which you rely on each of your main functions may as you mature so its not an all or nothing.

Also welcome to the forum. ;)

Yeah I understand that. It's not the case the MBTI itself to be useless to other types, but being an extreme abstract thing the other types are not too attracted to it. And are the very types who develop a lot the theory regarding its own types. It's natural the INTP database be much heavier compared to the ISFP or ESFP type, for instance.

I have noticed the sensors understand a lot through analogies and practical examples. Truth must be said, sometimes I think they only can understand through analogies.

No wonder the writers of the bible had put the supposed words of Jesus in form of parables and illustrations, the common people's language.

I know in retrospect that I've been an INTP since childhood. There is nothing wrong with you. When I was younger, I had a lot of issues with the combination of my extroverted feelings and my lack of ability to connect with others, and found it to be very confusing. I didnt know or accept that I was different from most people and had no reference for why. I also thought I 'should be' something I'm not. You are blessed that you found MBTI so early, it would have been such a blessing if I had known about this a lot earlier.

Why are you trying to figure yourself out at 14? Don't succumb to a comfort zone so early in life, its not worth it.

Do you like daggers?
You seem to have a fascination with daggers or whit asking the question "Do you like daggers?". Maybe I'll use it as a ice breaker in some awkward social situation someday.

Many of my intp traits developed when I became older and I made more new friends, because of stuff like moving around and pursuing new interests, and I had less interaction with old friends. I was always in a tightly knit social group in my younger days, this meant that I acted very extroverted and as if I was a sensing type. This is really why I didn't really notice my intp traits when I was younger, of coarse I can see those traits when I look back now. Social factors really affect how fast you mature and how you behave, as you grow older and become more independent it's just more likely that your intp traits will start to show.
