Recently, I've been trying to find a detailed description (similar to that of the INTP profile by paul james) specifically of the sx/so 5w4 in the enneagram, Sadly i wasn't able to find much so i figured why not ask fellow INTPs and see if they have anything to offer. Below is the only description that i could find that comes close to an accurate description of myself. What are your experiences with sx/so 5w4s or 5w6's for that matter, do you think such descriptions as below are accurate, seem antithetical to the INTP personality if you ask me but INTPs are full of contradictions (note- I am most certainly not making a correlation between INTP and the 5w4 type)

5w4 sx/so "Revolution" contributed by jase
The most creatively energized and outspoken of Fives, they conceive of outlandish and idealistic alternatives to a reality they find deeply unfulfilling for the most part, and like to exhibit these radical visions, possibly through an art form if not through direct advocacy. Many sx/soc 5w4's are responsible for revolutionizing their creative fields, for better or worse. They aren't always comfortable in the visionary roles they might find themselves in, and may escape to extended periods of withdrawal to regain a sense of independence and security. This kind of retreat can surprise those who have mistaken them for a more conventionally driven, extroverted personality.

Not 5w4 but a general description of the sx/so stacking

sx/so
This is the type that exudes the most raw charisma and sexual energy. They may identify so strongly with whatever they're involved with that they often become the symbol of its core essence, and sometimes its lead agent for change. Hardly content with the status quo, this subvariant seeks to alter the fundamental structure of something while at once embodying it's purest or most extreme form. Possibly attracted to radical views on politics, philosophy, spirituality or creativity that reflect their penchant for testing boundaries. They enjoy pushing other's buttons, especially those resistant to their modes of expression. It's not uncommon for them to have a pet social, political or spiritual cause which they're able to support with heartfelt conviction. May exploit and seek to redefine sexuality to reflect their own colorful and uncertain understanding of it. While prone to exhibitionism, they are strongly attracted to grounding influences which can anchor them and provide stability. Failure to satisfy an especially intense desire for connection may cause this subvariant to spite others at the risk of jeopardizing the need for an equal, stabilizing force. Can feel pulled between wanting a life of maximum intensity and reassuring episodes of peaceful convention.
Motivation: to impact others, question assumptions, challenge convention.
Familiar roles: provocateur, activist, exhibitionish
Examples of sx/so: Madonna, John Lennon, Yukio Mishima, Robin Williams, Drew Barrymore, Richard Simmons, Elvis, Bono, George Michael, Sinead O'Connor, Joan of Arc.

eh, not sure i want to be lumped in as an exhibitionist or with Madonna either... ah, anyway thoughts, experiences would be great

Well i'm not asking for correlations between the various individuals listed, just thoughts on the sx/so 5w4 type, any RL experiences etc, because i haven't found anything detailed enough, so thoughts from others would help give a broader picture of the type as a whole, as well as a better understanding of myself.

Sexual 5 - Seeking Intimacy/Intensity

* Udit Patel This Is My World (Ichazo's "Confidence")

Sexual Fives focus their hoarding in the area of intimate relationships. The combination of instinct and type are at odds here: the Five defense is to withdraw, while the sexual instinct demands intimacy and connection. Most Sexual Fives live in an uneasy truce between these polar influences, but they seek to resolve this tension by slowly inviting prospective intimates into their own secret world. Sexual Fives are primarily focused in their imaginations, but they believe that most others would find their thoughts and preoccupations dark and even frightening. At the very least, they are certain that others will find them odd or eccentric. Nonetheless, they want to share their perceptions and hidden worlds and secretly hope to have a deep connection with a single soul, a mate for life, who can understand them and their sometimes bizarre views of reality. Intimacy for them entails finding someone else who will explore the surreal vistas of their inner world. They also look to their partner for some degree of help in dealing with people and the practical affairs of life. They hope that their partner will run interference for them and give them confidence to navigate the external world. If Sexual Fives are disappointed in love, they may retreat and remain unattached for long periods of time, even years.

Sexual/social

This subtype is the most dramatic of the instinctual stackings of type Five. They are less concerned than the social/sexual subtype with social rejection, but take rejection from intimates very much to heart. They have a strong desire to express themselves, and can be the most Four-like of all the instinctual subtypes of type Five.

Not only do they have a strong desire to merge with a significant other, they also want to make their mark in the larger social sphere. The intensity, aggression, counterphobic stance and desire to connect deeply, all combine with the social instinct to produce a highly charged personality. This subtype can become quite accomplished if they are able to form an intimate connection with someone who will help ground them and provide them with a feeling of security. When Fives of this subtype feel a sense of safety due to healthy intimate relationships, they will want to share whatever knowledge, talent or insight they may have.

When unhealthy, this subtype can be very dark, pessimistic and the most confrontational of all the subtypes of Five. They can also become very arrogant.

I'm 5w6 and the 5w4's seem less structured in their lives. But I'm also sx/sp, so that changes it too.

I've heard it described as the 5w6 INTP prefers logic and hard science while the 5w4 INTP prefers art, individualism, and creative expression.

Enneagram boils down to something different than personality though. It describes your base motivation. This is NOT your personality.

5's ultimately fear not being capable, helpless, or useless. Essentially being stupid is a 5's fear so the solution is simple, learn. By learning we address our fear and conquer it.

A 5w4 also has the fears of 4.

4's fear is lack of identity or being insignificant. They conquer this by finding healthy outlets that allow them to express who they are. They fear no one will understand them, so an unhealthy four doesn't express their thoughts. They can only overcome their fear through expression.

6's are skeptics. They fear being deceived and their trust betrayed. They want to trust though, but their fear can prevent them. They overcome the fear by simply learning to trust. Even if some betray that trust, they'll overcome their fear of being unable to trust anyone.

A healthy 5w6 must become a leader with their knowledge and trusts others without their natural skepticism.

A healthy 5w4 leads through knowledge and expresses their individualism to others.

A healthy 5w4 so/sx might become an activist, leading the cause with superior knowledge and constantly expressing their ideals. A behavior similar to the INFJ. The thing is the closer you come to conquering these fears, the less like your personality you'll behave in front of others. But 9 times out of 10, a person hasn't completely conquered their fears nor do they always have the time or ability to.

5 for example, can you ever know everything you need to be certain about all decisions? Probably not. Leadership through knowledge conquers your fear, but you wont always have the knowledge to back you up because of time constraints.
