assumption:
1. you are the only thing that exists
-->not on earth, or in the universe, but instead absolutely.
-->the idea of you is reduced to the most singular form possible, your consciousness made up of your logic and emotions

scenarios:
2. you know absolutely that nothing else exists
3. you do not know if there is anything else that exists

questions:
4. you must decide whether or not it is worth living (continuing to exist)
5. if you decide that it is not living, can you kill yourself?

The assumptions are too similar to reality, so I'd just act the way I act now. Currently I act to favor myself. I do good things, cause it makes me feel good and helps me get by.

4. I decide my worth to live based on what I have to lose.
5. CAN you? yes, probably. WILL you? depends on what I have to live for. If you HAD to how would you? after doing what I felt like doing.

You must create, because only having done so can you decide 4 and 5.

would you please clarify the "must create" in your response. this scenario is assuming that your consciousness can exist independently

1. What exactly do you mean by that? I am the only thing that exists. There is no Earth and no universe. Something like a void? I assume you mean that I have no body. Am I God? Am I an AI doing it's first steps into consciousness? Who knows?

2. 4. Is it worth living? I don't know. Can I do something about it? Maybe, maybe not. If I can, then I can experiment.
2. 5. If I cannot, can I kill myself? How can I do that if only my consciousness exists? Do I just think that I die? Personally, if I conclude that, then yes, I would try to do it. But what if I can't? Do I stay here and think for all eternity about things that will have absolutely no meaning, since nothing else can exist?

3. 4. I would probably explore or try to create something. I don't know how, but I think that I would spend 1000 years trying, as long as the possibility of succeeding exists.
3. 4. Same as previous scenario.

If you are the only thing that exists (absolutely and inconsolably) then what are you waiting around for, or saving your own demise for?

If absolutely nothing but myself exists, it is impossible for me to even know that I exist. I'll have absolutely no knowledge of anything...and without knowledge of something, there can't be a reality to exist in.

I'm sorry if that's poorly worded, but put it this way: if I'm born into the world (or rather poof into existence, as seems likely with the parameters you've set up) and do not absorb sensory information, because nothing else exists, I don't...exist. Existing is something that is perceived, and I can't perceive my existence since I can't perceive anything else's.

This is very awkward to put into words...

I understand what you're saying. Its kind of like, if I am born I need to be taught to walk by watching and observing other people walking. If no one else is around, I don't have any concept of what walking is and I won't ever be able to do it.

Its the same with existence. The whole idea is constructed in our minds and if we can't observe others who 'exist', we can't understand the concept. I guess that's my understanding of it.

That's pretty accurate, yeah. It's a tabula rasa thing: we're all born a blank slate, and without anything to make an impression on that slate...
