What could cause you to be like on cocaine? Talking quickly, common quick mood swings, moving quickly, getting angry for nothing and very quickly...
I know two drugs who could cause that: amphetamine and cocaine.
I also know that nothing what you can smoke could cause that... So the question is - what could cause that? Including medication you can get legally, not because of an illness.

Just to clear up; you can smoke both coke and amphetamine/speed.
Also, I'm not sure if I understand your question. Are you wondering about legal drugs/chemicals that can cause similar symptoms? Or do you want to know how these kinds of drugs impact the brain provoking symptoms along the lines you listed?

Caffeine, caffeine, and caffeine, are all drugs that do this to most people on a regular basis.

I don't think that caffeine works for long periods of time, in this case - for more than an hour, or even 2 hours after drinking it. Even if it would be a cup of strong coffee...
This guy's using something that he can use at home, then go out for 2, possibly more hours and be under the effect of the drug used.

Some diet pills are amphetamine-based and have similar effects.

Yea, I know you can smoke them, but usually they are not being smoked... And what I had in mind is drugs that you couldn't consume in any other way but smoking.
I'm interested in any other illegal and any legal drugs that could cause these effects.

Crack is cocaine. Crack is always smoked.

Anyways, you could try smoking khat maybe. I think it's usually chewed though. I don't think smoking would work well.

pseudoephedrine (common in cold & flu pills) does that to me - especially the getting angry bit

Vyvanse is a hybrid amphetamine and phenethylamine that came out because Adderall's patent faced imminent expiration. Ostensibly Vyvanse came out because it was longer lasting and a basically non-abusable prodrug (sorry kids); but, as always, follow the money trail for the real reason behind its unveiling to fretful moms and teachers nationwide. Wow, pseudoephedrine, didn't the DEA flip it's shit over that last decade because they said it was inherently dangerous when it was more about precluding folks from throwing it in the crystal meth caldron? All drugs should be legal, especially the ones perceived as dangerous and corrosive to traditional values!

My memory of it could be over a decade old. I know I spent a long time arguing with pharmacists every time I got sick because I refused to take it and wanted antihistamines instead. Antihistamines have a stong sedative effect on me that they didn't want to encourage and I had to explain the non-drowsy stuff was likely to make me homicidal so sell me the alleged sedative and stfu.
When psueudoephedrine-free non-drowsy stuff came on the market the problem went away and I haven't paid much attention since. I do recall regular news of Codral ram-raids and I suspect any limiting of the drug had more to do with crime prevention than patient care.

Oh yeah! I pulled an all-nighter and had to go to work, so I took two cold pills w/ pseudoephedrine and was able to power through.

Caffeine *does* have multi-hour effects, but they're subtle, they're not the caffeine "high" that you're thinking of.

Seems like there's just too many things that the guy can get, and I really couldn't get any other "effects" he's having from whatever he's taking... He is very secretive, and what I know about him - I usually just make assumptions and ask around, then I find out that I was right...
This is something I was just interested in, what he is taking, but apparently it is impossible to narrow it down without knowing all the details I was trying to get from him today. :/
I still think that he's using amphetamine...

Can't you just ask him? Just try to win his trust and eventually you will gain the information you want.

Can no do. I don't have a possibility to often communicate with him. I could communicate with him about once a week, but I talk to him about once a month or rarer now, so winning his trust isn't an option.
Take a look in his medicine cabnit.
Isn't an option too - I don't get to go to his home, and If I would, he's right besides me.

Ahh, I hate when you have to drop things...
