Just curious. What time do you guys sleep and get up?

I am going through this weird sleeping 3-4 hours at night and 3-4 hours during the day phase.

I think it may be due to my new medication...

Same here. I usually go to bed around 4 in the morning, and wake up at 6. Either that, or I don't sleep at all at night =P
I usually nap for a couple hours around 3pm though, it's the only time I can really sleep....

I wanted to try polyphasic sleep, but I can't in my current situation so I'm stuck at sleeping from 7-8 AM to 1-2 PM. That would be a good day, when i can actually fall asleep. Otherwise i just stay awake days in a row till I'll finally fall asleep.

Not being able to sleep is the worst torture D:
What is polyphasic sleep?
I'm currently looking for solutions.....

I've been going to sleep at 2am and getting up at 11am or noon. I am unemployed, which helps and whatnot... but it seems like I'm consistently getting more than 8 hours of sleep a night. It's like I don't want to get up, to some extent.

I heard polyphasic sleeping was quite common during the middle ages, especially among the peasant class.

They would work so hard all day that by the time they get home they would pass out. Then they would wake up in the middle of the night to eat, talk, have sex, socialize, etc. Then they would go back to sleep for couple of hours and wake up again to work.

But polyphasic sleep isn't compatible with school. Or at least what school life should be. Unfortunately for me. But later on with some job I could do at home. I'd definitely try it.

I go to sleep between 10pm to 1am usually, and wake up from 6am to 8 am, depending on what I have to do that day

I suggest I could put the coordinate here but then
I sleep in class at school a lot. Big lecture, cool air-con, boring teacher, etc. all the condition for good sleep. I usually sleep 0-12 times perday, each 1.5h, at random times.

I used to go to sleep around 1 am every night and wake up about 8. But lately, because of my job and random events, I have to force myself to go to sleep at 3 am... otherwise, I'd probably be up until 5 am.

I prefer going to sleep between 2-4 am and waking up around 12-2pm. When I have school I can't manage to fell asleep before 2-4 am regardless and I wake up 6.30 am. This usually result in passing out in the afternoon.

Six stories up.
There is no easily discernible rhythm to my sleep.. mostly because I can't sleep at all without medication. I can stay up for two or three days with little to no side effects. I normally (60%ish of the time) choose to go to sleep in the early morning.. 5-8 AM, and wake up from 7-12 hours later depending on how long I was awake before I went out.

I once go non-sleep for over 2 weeks straight to finish a project. Maybe we would all do something similar sometimes.

W = Wake, S = Sleep.

Code:
Mon : W 6am --- S 3am
Tue : W 6am --- S 4am
Wed : W 11am --- S 3am
Thu : W 6am --- S 4am
Fri : W 6am --- S 2am
Sat : W 1pm --- S 3am
Sun : W 1pm --- S 4am

Thats more or less average normal days. When there are projects / exams, remove 3 hours of sleep per weekday, and add them on the weekend... ends up more like

Code:
Mon : No sleep
Tue : No sleep
Wed : Crash all day, wake up for all-nighter.
Thu : No sleep
Fri : No sleep
Sat : Crash all day
Sun : Crash all day, wake up for all-nighter.
:(

During vacations, I usually fall into my natural W 1pm S 4am all days. I'm a night person :phear:

Lately I've been falling asleep ~3 a.m. and waking up at ~6 a.m. for school. I haven't gotten more than 6 hours of sleep on a weeknight in a verrrry long time. I do all-nighters regularly. On weekends I sleep from 6 a.m. to 3 or 4 p.m.
My parents and I have gotten into small fights over my sleeping habits for years now. Occasionally they kick up a fuss about it, but now I can point to my spotless grades and ask if they have any further complaints.
I'll probably get a night job when I'm older.

You guys who sleep less than 28 hours a week...How do you do it? If I don't get at least 56 hours of sleep a week, I'm a bear.

I generally go to bed around midnight, but often don't get to sleep until 1-2 a.m. (the pesky thinking keeps me awake) and wake up at 5:30 a.m. I've had terrible insomnia since I quit drinking.

I'll do this for about two weeks, then sleep for about 14+ hours once it catches up to me.

For most of the last 10 years or so, I get up at 6:45 most of the year, more like 8:30 in the summer. On weekends I tend to get up around 8 or so on Saturday and maybe 9 on Sunday. Weeknights I get to bed around 11, fall asleep by midnight.

I would MUCH rather go to sleep around 3 and get up around 11, but, alas, work forbids that.

Ick, waking up at 5:30 against your will? I mean, I have to be up early for school, but on my days off I automatically sleep in past noon...
I'm curious, (it might be too personal and you don't have to answer, but) why did you stop drinking?

Am I the only one who gets a solid 8 hours of sleep every night? And even at that, I look tired all the time...

Lots of sugar and/or caffeine and/or energy drinks... lots of loud music (rock or electronic)... adequate lighting... uncomfortable furniture... sucking other people's happiness as a fuel source. :slashnew:

56... how do YOU do it

If you wake up at the wrong time of your sleep it can leave you feeling very tired. Excessive sleeping can even be unhealthy. As usual, I have forgotten my references  but I'm sure someone else has one at hand.

Or maybe its that classic INTPish "tired of this world" kind of tired.... in which case, if you find the cure, let me know.

A bunch of hard problems to solve from maths/physics/computer science forum. Also some individual project will keep you awake without tired.

I usually go to bed around 2-4 am and wake up from 9-11 am on weekdays, I fortunately signed up for only afternoon/night classes so I usually get a good amount of sleep. On weekends I might sleep til 12 or 1 pm but not later. I find regardless of how much sleep I actually get I'm incapable of having a good day if I wake up before 8 am.

It's a long, angsty, and ultimately uninteresting story.

Generally I go to sleep from 8-11pm, and wake up from 6:45 to 7:30am. However on weekends and holidays it changes completely. Even when I get a solid 8-10 hours sleep I still can't get out of bed in the morning. I can't understand how people live with not getting any sleep some days, anything less than 5 hours and I can't do anything during the day.

Depends. Usually 7-8 hours, but sometimes 4-5 or 10-12. If I don't get a good nine-hour sleep at least once or twice a week it's a good sign that I'm either depressed or somewhere in-between normal and depressed, which is certainly not good.
