tuesday 20 past nine. feel like crap, constipation pains kept me up all night, zero sleep from monday 1030pm.

other symptoms, from saturday morning onwards; cold shivers, literally drenched all my clothes and bedsheets - normal temperature recorded.
super irritated hands and feet, sometimes would spread up to ankles and feet, but no rash or spots.
loss of appetite, anything i tried to consume would get vomited back up again, even tiny sips of water,

not sweating so bad now and am able to retain liquids and small amounts of food, provided i have lots of fluid to wash it down with.

still feel real fragile and pains in my legs (aches) lack of exercise?

worst and useless trip to hospital on sunday did i ever experience. sat in car for twelve literally unable to keep still, entered some weird state on numb euphoria, couldn't move my hands

Feel better. At least you're not starving and going to die at age 5 because of aids.

Jeeze... you okay? That sounds horrible. Just horrible.

It also sounds like it overlaps with some symptoms of the flu this year here in the States, but the lack of fever kind of throws me off.

I was sick over Christmas here. I did get massive chills/sweats myself for the period I had something; I don't know if I had a fever either. Headache, mild nausea, really painful joints (knees, fingers, elbows), and sensitive skin. Not much respiratory distress as I would have expected... I have some wracking coughing spells, but not much drainage or anything.

I spent 4 hours at a walk-in clinic during it, a complete waste of my time. (I got a 5 minute review + a misdiagnosis -- I know it wasn't sinusitis, I've had that enough to tell the difference. Idiots.)

Anyway... is there anything else you do? Sounds like the hospital crapped out on you.

Sounds almost as if you experienced some sort of neurological damage or shock. When I used to get migraines/cluster headaches I experienced much of the same symptoms, particularly the numbness aches and pains, and nausea (not so sure about constipation and sweating, though).

You may have had some sort of seizure, and if your symptoms persist I would highly recommend seeing a specialist immediately.

(ofc I have next to no idea wtf I am talking about)

I hope you feel better soon. Those symptoms can really mess you up.

Sounds like a bad case of the flu. I had all the same symptoms 6 months back.

Flu is much more reasonable than what I said.

I still think he should go and see a doctor or go to an emergency department.

Gastroenteyritis is how I've been diagnosed. Doctors tried to send me to see someone again yesterday, I just requested to soak to one over the phone instead as I didn't want done pointless journey. They agreed and told me these new pains were normal. I already feel 10 times better, still cannot sleep though, I am hungry and my appetite is poor. I managed half a slice of toast earlier when I realized but that was all I could manage. Also even though I explained the situation before with work they still wantedme to confirm that I wouldn't be able top work, which I forgot to do up until 45 mins before my shift. they were getting all political on my ass and want a meeting with me,I couldn't believe how insensitive they were being to someone who's clearly really ill. I may take till Friday off; letting them know with the minimum of two hours notice like they're requesting.

Ok so the gastroenteritis is nearly all cleared up, but the leg cramps/pains have gradually got more severe to the point that painkillers are useless and I'm in agony. I read some articles earlier on ways to deal with pain and how to relax and visualise it to draw the focus somewhere else, which seems to help for short periods when i'm really focusing. Otherwise I would get really anxious and tense which only aided to enhance the pain.

I saw a doctor last night who took a blood test which revealed a low sodium content in the blood; which is responsible for the pain. This as it turns out is due to me rehydrating myself too quickly after the virus and not gaining my appetite quick enough. Leaving my blood with a low salt level.
I'm now taking magnesium phosphate tablets as a quick way to find the equilibrium again. As for my appetite, it's still not back to normal but I am able to eat small meals now 3 or 4 times a day.

Yikes. I'm glad the doc discovered the low sodium issue. I think I've heard of that before. Kind of amazing what sounds like a "minor" issue can cause such pain from the experiential POV.

Gastorenteritis sometimes gets referred to as "stomach flu" but it's really an infection. Sounds like total suckage. :(

Hmmm I'll update this, even though it's a bit late. I actually succumbed to the illness again after entering recovery stage; started vomiting and couldn't hold any liquid or anything. Got hospitalized and spent the night on anti sickness medicine which made me hallucinate for a short while and a drip to re hydrate and add electrolytes to my body. I was released the next day, this happened last week, or a week and one day technically as I was released on Monday.

Anyway that aside I'm still recovering in terms of getting over my leg cramps, which keep me up all night, I sleep during the day a lot now. It's just a really fucking slow process. That and regaining my strength in general; I'm back at work but only working 3 hours a day, that seems to be my limit so far.

I'm trying acupuncture tomorrow morning which I'm fairly exited about. I'm thinking even if it doesn't solve, or add to the healing process it should at least help me to relax, feel more positive in general. The lack of sleep and general pains has lead to me being fairly irritable lately, I'm pretty sure I've unfairly snapped at some people.
Has anyone here had experience with acupuncture? Maybe you could PM me if you don't want to post here or publicly?
