i'm a prize in a cereal box near you, so buy, BUY,
tonight it occurred to me that you could use cereal other than plain old rice crispies to make the treat they are named after, such as cocoa pebbles or fruity pebbles, then i thought what about cheerios, or you could even melt peanut butter into the marsh mellows.

anyway this thread was created as sort of a brain storm of rice crispy treat innovation, possibly the most important topic in history. so i ask brothers and sisters ignore all else and flood this thread with possible combos of these delicious treats.

Reading your signature immediately after reading your post is kind of funny.

What about a "full breakfast" rice krispie treat: scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage bits, hashbrowns and shredded up pancakes, held together with marshmallow and cut into squares.

I consider myself an innovator in experimental food science.

...emphasis on experimental!

I think I could stomach the bacon. Not sure about the rest. :D

But yeah, I've seen 'em made with cheerios, chocolate flakes, sugared flakes, lucky charms, etc....

I'm still waiting on a Willy Wonka-esque peice of gum or chocolate bar that tastes of various meals. You know, like a a steak and kidney pie bar or a beans, egg, n' chips chew.

Yes, you can use Coco pops instead of rice krispies, saves the chocolate!

...other than plain old rice crispies to make the treat they are named after...
This bothers me. May I assume you meant the treat which is named after them, rather than implying that rice crispies are somehow named after the treat that is their main ingredient?

Back on topic, the full breakfast rice crispie treat sounds fantastic. I think the next time I have the ingredients, I will consider making one, provided that my dad and other room mates are willing to try an experimental new breakfast option. The other one that may work would be dried fruits. Apple, banana, apricot, whatever... throw in some assorted nuts, hold it all together with marshmallows, and drizzle in chocolate. Voila, instant energy trail mix in a bar.

Just bear in mind that I will not be held responsible for any unpleasant results of the full breakfast treat. Dried fruit/marshmallow treats, though, are a legitimately good idea.
