Post quote notifications

Most boards these days have post quote notifications. You go to the site, and they give you a link to a page with all the people that have quoted posts of yours in followups. Highly useful, it easily allows you to keep track of conversations. I'm constantly missing replies to my posts and whatnot.

Can the mods add this feature?

I've seen notification plugins that actually allow each user to mark what they want to be notified of (and not)... so those who want it could use it, and others could just unflag some or all the items.

Quote notifications were a part of the tagging plugging which got broken after the last forum hack and update.

I've perused the support forum of the publisher of the plugin and what I saw leads me to believe I don't have enough privileges to troubleshoot this, and Ragnar is well, never around. I also believe Ragnar is the only one who can install new plugins.

Makes it feel like an obligation.

Said quote notifications weren't enabled due to similar concerns that some users don't want to be swamped with notifications, and there was no way to opt out.

This is not an absolute "no" to to quote notifications though.

Good idea. There are apps for mobile devices like iPads that include this feature. I am annoyed that the website does not provide this feature.

FWIW.: We're running vBulletin 4.2.2, and the DBTech mod for "Advanced User Tagging", which provides the feature.
