Possible difference between INTPs and ENTPs

I didn't realize this was a flame war, goddamn why is everything so dramatic again.

No it's utterly ridiculous. I'm only in this out of principle. He's responded with personal remarks and has been consistently illogical and I've been trying to find a balance between letting it go yet still manage to reach understanding. It's the endless T/F battle of misunderstanding. I still don't think he's accepted that I'm not out to hurt him in some way and until he does he's doing everything but making sense of what I'm trying to say, over and over. All I care about is being understood on a logical level. But when I get just about there, suddenly he asks me, "hey, what are you even trying to say in the first place?" ARRRGG so I explain it to him and then enter: Cherry Cola. Welcome to my most embarrassing flame war of the week.

And I don't think you're out to hurt me. I'm an easy going guy, and I thought things were settled a while back, but you kept bringing things up.

I see where you're going with this (obviously) and I reject it completely.

A. It (sarcasm) is also used by feelers

B. His form of sarcasm is not sophisticated enough to convey detachment; it's more personally fueled.

C. If it resembles any sort of psychic function at all, it most closely resembles extraverted thinking.

I did mean it for him specifically, mostly to see what his emotional state he was in this. It was not to make an accurate statement. I understand that my statement does not hold absolute truth or the only reason why sarcasm is used or just by thinkers. I simply thought he considered himself a thinker and I was trying to indicate that thinkers are not necessarily safe from defensiveness. I gleaned that he seemed to think ENTP as immune to such arguing. The question is... Why all this arguing of little importance?

IME/O, NeTi and NiTe are similar in that they both tend to engage in situational debates, both may have comprehensive perspectives but prefer to only approach others with a focus on the particular case. Likewise they probably have a tactical way of solving problems in real life. Both heing eclectic, one looks for synthesis in the world's ideas, the other in their life.

TiNe on the other hand is more interested in theory/system building, more likely to hold back unless presenting their developed idea which demands a holistic and deliberate consideration.

In contrast to them all, TeNi would most likely be found juggling projects and pursuing individual progress .

Yeah that's a good point. I'd make a similar case for Te auxiliary as well.

I think this may be partially true. And I think it's because the ENTP tends to put forward points just to troll the fuck out of the INTP.

I have other friends who will discuss things with me and I quite regularly concede and agree that they've made a good point, but with ENTPs I often find they totally redirect the discussion just for the sake of having an extra thing to say. And it's not that they want to be right, it's just that they want to make an additional point. So, since the topic has been skewed from the original subject, I'll have another thing to say to that. And so it goes on!

I have to say it's quite annoying actually and I think it's one of the worst traits of the ENTP - the ability to pull everything off into a million different-yet-coherent tangents.

(Sorry for the ENTP character assassination. I actually think you guys are fantastic and I wish I had your forward-thinking positive world views.)

Well I don't think this is specific to ENTP.

I rarely try to troll, but it often comes off as that. And as opposed to the INTP, the ENTP doesn't care as much as discussing and dissecting all the details.

In the thread "I'm spiritual but not religious" for example, I just like to say things that may seem dumb but I hope are funny and hold a kernel of truth underneath like my last post there: "I'm not spiritual just very religious."

Like, this isn't true of me, and really, no one would probably say that, but the reality is it's SO true for so many people.

Look for manic grin.
INTP facial expressions are very mild compared to ENTPs.

Our insane mad scientist manic smile/grin separates us from other xxTPs. INTPs also have it but it is very subdued. xSTPs faces are very deadpan but they use their body more. xNTP body language is other wordily when it shows.

EDIT in my case the smile comes from my inner crazy pondering. I am quite bad reacting to real life. Another N/S divide People are always asking about my smiling.
