Not too interested in this, but its kinda interesting. Some of the questions are kinda close ended, but its all good.

I think its crazy that things like school and prison have been the same in America since the beginning. Whose idea was it to lock up the scary people for 30 years? Ya,that will "rehabilitate" them.

And Im genuinely confused at the purpose of school. Is it to learn things??? or to just get a job...hmm.. i couldve swore i went to school to learn things. Thats what ive been told by the "higher authority" of the non existent caste system based by income and social class. Hmm this means that all rich people are really smart right? And poor people must be dumb as shit.

I, for one, find that there is a purpose to locking some people up so they do not endanger the rest of us. Surely most people have at least heard of muggings happening to others before; you wouldn't want that to happen to you.

As for schools, well. Very very difficult job to get it right.

I know that this is an old thread, but I feel that I should drop in to say that this test is biased. On another forum I saw someone who would almost certainly be pretty far to the right get results that show him to be left leaning. It automatically puts you a couple points over to the left. There's another one that I feel is a bit more accurate that still has a slight left leaning bias, but it's not nearly as bad as this one.

It's a scattering of questions based on how someone of one political leaning would see the ideologies of another. I think the test would have been better if it were situation based, especially with the economic questions, to allow for more "shades" of the political spectrum. Like this the questions are almost as predictable as self-reporting MBTI. :p

I don't really get what that means. There are no famous people in my quadrant, on the international chart. I'm all alone! :slashnew:

No you are not alone. I'm in there with you. It would seem to me that this is the place where people who do not have strong political opinions to pursue politics or unpopular opinions are. So it keeps anyone with it to get famous in politics.

I haven't taken this in a while, so I may have drifted, but the last few times I took it, I was in deep green. Like around (-9,-8.5) or something. I've drifted upward and leftward slightly, over the past 3 years.

I may edit this once I retake it, but I doubt it would change drastically.

Interesting....I though I was more in the middle than this,

but I'm right around Gandhi and the Dali Lama, could definitely be worse.

I pretty much hate politics, so I guess this looks about right. Pretty close to the middle.

I'm between Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama. Who knew? I always hear I'm a critical asshole. Maybe it's just because I care that much. (hah)

About right. This appears to use the older definition of Libertarian (back when it was synonymous with Anarchist).

There's one political compass test I took a few years back that I felt was much better than this one but I can't be bothered to find it at the moment. It asked similar questions but it also asked you to choose on a scale of 1 to 5 (I think) how important the issues are to you. It also lacks the left leaning bias that this one has.

The guy that runs the site that this quiz is on has actually answered a question about the bias of this test by saying that he gave it a left leaning bias since the political spectrum has leaned further to the left in the years since the political compass was first used. I really don't like that answer though. Mainly because since this quiz is meant to apply to today's politics there is no reason to have it biased to the left for that reason. I've actually seen friends of mine that are quite socially conservative that landed in the green part of the grid.
