Ok! I am bored. I just came out of a short work break and have just completed my project. Hence, being in between projects gives me a prime opportunity to do something interesting.

I can take up to 20 days off work and I have $2000 AU excess cash. I don't really feel like heading out of the country and the fact I need to renew my passport makes heading abroad a slight pain in the ass. Australia it is.

Any ideas to kill some time?

KILL some time!? You don't need money or anything for that! Walk and explore each corner of your city and just keep walking and try to completely know your city's surroundings! Should be fun! Talk to some random people too! The discovery!

I don't know if your joking or being serious.
Me neither! Do you have forests?

I come from Oregon, a temperate rainforest, so any forests you have probably wouldn't live up to my standards anyway. ;)

You got beaches there? I really recommend hiking.

I am thinking the national space museum. If I go out in the sun I think I will burn like crazy. Being pale and all. Going to the capital is quite a drive from where I live. Many small country towns to pass through. XD

Since, Australia is a continent and climate varies over a continent we have many different types of forest. However, I like to simplify things. In my opinion we have 2 types of forest; green and brown. There is more brown forest than green. This type of thinking probably lead to my dismissal from my last job.

lol, I was just thinking of excuses not to go to the beach. I just dislike the beach. Unless, I am doing something that involves high speeds and is dangerous. Hiking is alright. It has been a few years since I have engaged in the activity.

Sky diving sounds like a fun idea.

The outdoors is pretty awesome. XD

Well, if possible I would suggest going to an environment that is different in as many possible ways from your current environment as possible - without sacrificing comfort.

Heading over shark bay in western Australia I could see some stromatolites. Potentially steal a clump.

*shrugs*

This is hard.

Tasmania. You don't need to renew your passport, it is dead cheap (flights or ferry), and the climate will be cooler. Hobart is really interesting. And the west coast is amazingly wild and relatively untouched. WA is really cool, too. Shark Bay would be awesome, I've always wanted to see the stromatolites. You could head down south of Perth, check out the wineries and the beautiful coastline. It is hot over there, though. I would go to Tassie. Or go hiking or mountain biking in the Australian Alps. Book a nice little cabin, take some books, and enjoy the sense of freedom the mountains give.
