here's an essay about how it correlates with MBTI but I cba'd to read it:

http://www.capt.org/research/article/JPT_Vol68_0708.pdf

I got:

You are the Creator!
38% Innocent, 53% Orphan, 41% Warrior, 76% Caregiver, 62% Seeker, 65% Lover, 49% Destroyer, 78% Creator, 44% Magician, 71% Ruler, 73% Sage and 56% Fool!

Goal: Identity
Fear: Inauthenticity
Response to Dragon/Problem: Claim it as part of the self
Task: self-creation, self-acceptance
Gift: Individuality, vocation
Addictions: Work, creativity

Dunno how well that fits :P

You are the Fool!

46% Innocent, 38% Orphan, 49% Warrior, 50% Caregiver, 72% Seeker, 52% Lover, 66% Destroyer, 59% Creator, 40% Magician, 43% Ruler, 65% Sage and 74% Fool!

Goal: Enjoyment

Fear: Nonaliveness

Response to Dragon/Problem: Play tricks on it

Task: Trust in the process

Gift: Joy, freedom

Addictions: Excitement, cocaine, alcohol

The Fool is the archetype most helpful in dealing with the absurdities of the modern world and with faceless, amorphous modern bureaucracies– places where no one takes personal responsibility, rules are expected to be followed mo matter how absurd they might be, and the tables are incredibly stacked against individual effectiveness. A Jester does not merely provide entertainment, but also points out the failings of the kingdom to a wise Ruler. Thus, Fools are often the most serious archetype of all. The Fool often violates social norms in humourous ways to avoid provoking undue hostility.

A Fool’s politics are anarchistic. Fools are resilient, and are willing to stand up and try again despite failing. The Fool enjoys the contest of the wits even in the most dangerous or offensive of circumstances, and hates being bored.

Shadow Fool:

When such energy is not allowed, it simply goes underground, and in doing so becomes negative, undermining force. The Shadow Fool delights in breaking rules, regardless of the consequences. Unbridled and undisciplined sensuality, madness, and multiple personalities or personas are usually the results of the force of the Shadow Fool. The Shadow Fool has an unrealistic vision of what is required for survival, emotions, and relationships and believes that in order to succeed at conventional norms, one must work all of the time, so there is no use in undertaking any conventional task.

One must not be fooled by the fool archetype being named the fool. The fool archetype is no fool at all.

Humm...I got Creator. Maybe NiFe is correlated?

You are the Creator!
64% Innocent, 23% Orphan, 63% Warrior, 76% Caregiver, 56% Seeker, 65% Lover, 42% Destroyer, 80% Creator, 54% Magician, 67% Ruler, 77% Sage and 69% Fool!

Goal: Identity
Fear: Inauthenticity
Response to Dragon/Problem: Claim it as part of the self
Task: self-creation, self-acceptance
Gift: Individuality, vocation
Addictions: Work, creativity
The Creator is the center of improvement, always striving to create and better her/his surroundings. The Soul is the center of the Creator’s dance, and it seeks to find a deeper sense of self and wisdom even at the price of the Ego’s functions of keeping us healthy and functioning. The Soul is the source of our freewill, and the healthy creator can tap into the potential, creating circumstances while others feel acted upon by her/his actions.
The Creator is driven to be authentic despite the costs. Creators are threatening to Warriors and Seekers, who are very concerned with how things are ‘supposed’ to be.

Shadow Creator:
The Shadow creator creates without any sense of responsibility for what s/he is making. The Shadow Creator often will deny his/her responsibility in events. Most often, the Creator is shunned by the community, and a Shadow Creator seeks to create to disturb the community from which s/he is shunned. If a creation comes out badly, a Shadow Creator will blame circumstances.

The centered comments on comments of only on my specific type (ENTP), obviously other functions attributable e.g, Ruler (Te/Si etc)

I can easily see these:

87% Fool
Ne obvious

87% Creator
Ne+Ti

74% Lover
Been struggling unusually high with Fe after a breakup

70% Caregiver
""

67% Ruler
Si

Don't really identify with these:

66% Innocent
64% Seeker (When Ne struggles > w/ Si)
60% Magician
60% Sage (I can see Ti doms getting this a lot)
53% Warrior

I can see this one in extreme times of crisis, whence one undergoes metamorphosis/catharsis:

35% Destroyer

skimmed it a lil'.

You are the Warrior!
43% Innocent, 35% Orphan, 76% Warrior, 41% Caregiver, 74% Seeker, 29% Lover, 62% Destroyer, 76% Creator, 47% Magician, 59% Ruler, 55% Sage and 39% Fool!

Goal: Win
Fear: Weakness
Response to Dragon/Problem: Slay/confront it
Task: Fight only for what really matters
Gift: Courage, discipline
Addictions: Achievement, success

Description:

The Warrior within each of us calls us to have courage, strength, and integrity; the capacity to make goals and to stick to them; and the ability to fight, when necessary, for ourselves or others. Anytime we stand up to an unfair authority or risk our livelihood for a principle, our Warrior side is active. A Warrior fights against injustice.

Shadow Side:

A Warrior that fights to preserve injustice has fallen to the Shadow side of the Warrior archetype. If the warrior behaviour is primitive, unpleasant, or unproductive or we are always crusading for something or always trying to enlist others then we have been possessed by our inner Shadow Warrior.
In the most serious and negative manifestations, the desire to be above others is not checked by any humane feeling or higher values. This Shadow Warrior is competitive, but its striving is not related to any ideals or larger social purpose.

The budding warrior has two major defenses: secrecy and strategic retreat. Good Warriors know that we should never enter a battle until we are prepared for it. When a Warrior is clearly overwhelmed by superiour force, the Warrior retreats and takes time to rebuild strength. Perhaps they watch and learn new skills. Clever Warriors try to control the battle zone and do not fight until they are prepared enough to have a good chance of winning. The Best Warrior has the wisdom and the courage to know when and where to fight. The real problem with the Warrior archetype in today’s day and time is that many so-called Warriors are not true Warriors at all. They are Orphans, calming their own sense of powerlessness by trying to best or control others.

Relationships:

Warriors that are not highly developed may find themselves fighting about everything. Warriors demand unremitting toughness in Orphans. Orphans often follow warriors and are willing to sacrifice their autonomy because they have no conscious ability to defend themselves. If a highly developed Caregiver is associated with a Warrior, the Warrior will fight willingly for the good of others.

Sage / _NTP according to the article.

description:
You are the Sage!
49% Innocent, 55% Orphan, 69% Warrior, 50% Caregiver, 61% Seeker, 30% Lover, 68% Destroyer, 39% Creator, 44% Magician, 29% Ruler, 79% Sage and 61% Fool!

Goal: Truth
Fear: Deception
Response to Dragon/Problem: Transcend it
Task: Attain enlightenment
Gift: Wisdom, non-attachment
Addictions: Being right, tranquilizers

Sages have little or no need to control or change the world; they just want to understand it. The Sage’s path is the journey to find out the truth– about ourselves, our world, and the universe. However, it is not simply about finding knowledge, but about becoming wise. The challenge of the Sage is to decode the clue and solve the underlying riddle of existence. They seek to cultivate and attitude of dispassionate reflection so that they can experience real truth. The Sage merely watches the action, while looking for the underlying truth.

Hmmm. Your proposal is intriguing. On this forum my creativity usually manifests itself in the systems I create not necessarily having to do with emotional speculation/identification witch is mostly true in my real life as well I suppose. I guess my creativity, for the most part, has to do with the way I solve problems. If you are looking for a concrete example of a loosely emotional basis for creativity, here is a picture of a ceramic piece that I have not had the chance to bisque fire, glaze and re-fire again:

I don't know if this will satisfy you or not but to be honest I don't really care.

I am thinking either salt firing or wood firing for this piece.

They seek to cultivate and attitude of dispassionate reflection so that they can experience real truth. The Sage merely watches the action, while looking for the underlying truth.

Shadow Sage:
The Shadow Sage is not so much unattached as cut off from reality. S/he is so obsessed by non-attachment that s/he cannot commit to people, projects, or ideas. Sometimes a Negative Sage deludes her/himself with the idea that his provides him/her with freedom, but s/he is not free at all. The negative Sage is addicted to being perfect and truthful and right and has no tolerance of normal human feelings or vulnerabilities. Such a Sage often tends towards ascetic practices and constantly derides the self or others for any sign of not being perfect.

Shadow Sages also tend to try to make the world seem less mysterious by limiting the number of acceptable ways of perceiving reality. Such individuals are also incapable of acknowledging the way that their own subjective biases colour their supposedly rational findings. Shadow Sages typically want to control knowledge in such a way that it is not threatening by focusing on a style that correspond to their learning style. Knowledge, then, becomes a way of showing superiority to others. Their primary focus thus becomes not on the attainment of wisdom itself, but on the evaluation of others. Whatever relative truth they have discovered is identified with absolute truth, and their primary focus is in guarding this truth from assaults by the barbarians.

Seems pretty accurate. Especially the part below, it generally covers how I feel about my childhood and feeling protected under a veil of ignorance.

"The Journey of the Innocent, in all its versions, begins in a kind of utopia, a safe, secure, peaceful, loving environment. Suddenly, we are thrown fro m that environment and enter a world where we are judged, where unfair discriminations are made, where conflict and violence are rampant and illusions are shattered.”

I think the many creator results are a result of creator traits being similar to many other traits which are more accurately portrayed by other archetypes, but the accumulative sum of said traits unfortunately yields the creator result despite its inaccuracy.

You can't compare this test to MBTI theory. Its apples and oranges. Architect might have something to say about personality regarding this if he cares to, which I doubt he will; its just a silly test.

CAREGIVER 72%
Top 4: Caregiver 72%, Creator 72%, Sage 68%, Warrior 65%

Lowest: Orphan 41%

My Caregiver's only 55% higher than other test-takers, and Creator is actually below the average. Sage was the one most significantly (68%) above average.

Figured I'd post because it's a new result.

Caregiver:
Goal: Help others.
Fear: Selfishness
Response to Dragon/Problem: Take care of it or those it harms
Task: Give without maiming self or others
Gift: Compassion, generosity
Addictions: Caretaking, codependence

The ideal of the Caregiver is the perfect, caring parent—generative, loving, and attentive to noticing and developing talents and interests. The Caregiver is the creator of community that helps people feel that they belong and are valued and cared for by encouraging nurturing relationships between and among individuals and constituencies.

Shadow Side:
Shadow caregivers wish to maintain indefinitely the symbiotic state experienced by mother and child, devouring the growing protégé to try to keep it or make it part of his or her own self. The irony, of course, is that Shadow Caregivers devour others while also feeling devoured themselves by the caregiving roles. In fact, protégés are often driven or manipulated into doing what the Shadow Caregiver would like to be doing in an unlived life. A Shadow caregiver also may feel that s/he never gets anything back for his/her trouble. However, this type of Shadow caregiver also cannot get anything back, because s/he refuses to receive. These Caregivers may use the guilt and obligation they inspire in others to get their own way.

My point is that they may both be fruit and have to do with personality, but they measure different things; so its apples and oranges. Not to say you can't draw some sort of comparison, because you can, but its like measuring current in a parallel circuit with different size loads on either branch.

It was implied. Duh.

It seems as though if you 'have a problem with someone' you hates them forever; precious.

No one asked you. Is it impossible for you to acknowledge that I may be trying to begin a rational discussion; something that you don't really engage in much. You would rather point out the mistakes of those you hate, am I right?

I have actually wanted to pick Blarraun's brain for a while but haven't had the chance. I think his perspective is near always valid.

CC didn't include the relation with MBTI, however even if this was the case, this test even includes MBTI translation tables, so is clearly focused on this task, so rather I propose that we should focus on the extent and on the accuracy of these comparisons that were implied by the test-makers, while estimating the overall soundness and clarity of either MBTI/this test with reality.

While we are on the topic of measuring current in the parallel circuits, you should know about the current divider and Kirchhoff's laws that allow you to properly analyze this current.

If we were to expand this fruitful tangent, you can compare apples with oranges and you can decide what is their chemical/physical composition, while measuring the same things such as sugar/kcal, acids, density, etc.

Perhaps I just saw the pattern that was present.

I suppose I could have made an analogy using a Wheatstone Bridge as the vehicle instead but I didn't want to over complicate it. Ya'mean?

The same line of overcomplication/overabstraction could apply to any other test compared with any other test, or any test compared to reality.

Also, it isn't impossible, it just shouldn't be done without good tools, or approach.
That is what I meant and that is enough, the test wasn't bad for me.

You are the Sage!

85% Sage
84% Creator
72% Warrior
64% Ruler
61% Destroyer
48% Seeker
46% Fool
43% Magician
41% Lover
39% Innocent
34% Orphan
22% Caregiver

Goal: Truth
Fear: Deception
Response to Dragon/Problem: Transcend it
Task: Attain enlightenment
Gift: Wisdom, non-attachment
Addictions: Being right, tranquilizers

Interesting to note is that scoring 85% on Sage puts it at higher than 99% of peers, while 84% creator is only higher than 76% of peers.

So it seems that creator is something that nearly everyone scores highly on - perhaps if people instead post the score that is highest relative to peers, this would be more varied and give a more accurate analysis. It seems like there's an over-abundance of creators, which might not actually be so.

Also interesting that I score in similar percentiles with Warrior/Creator seeing as they are pitted as being natural enemies. I suppose I could interpret it as meaning I'm my own worst enemy...which is rather accurate.

Good test, the greater number of questions relative to others makes it better I think. I always dislike shorter tests for the fact that each question holds more weight than it probably should.

It was implied. Duh.

You misread. The comparison was one archetype in relation to all other archetypes. It had nothing at all to do with alternative theories, let alone MBTI specifically.

Wondering why you think a wider variety of traits is more accurate than the current pattern that unfolds?

Well, we are on an MBTI forum of sorts and the subject matter should largely be about the test this thread introduced. I don't really understand what all the confusion is about.

I'm willing to bet my results had the most difference between the most significant attribute and the least significant ones.

And finally, Bronto has never accused me of using a straw man argument before this first itme but has made this claim about others many many times.

Your result for Awakening the Hero Within: Hero Archetype Test ...
You are the Seeker!
50% Innocent, 51% Orphan, 59% Warrior, 78% Caregiver, 79% Seeker, 41% Lover, 45% Destroyer, 70% Creator, 43% Magician, 64% Ruler, 68% Sage and 74% Fool!

Goal: Search for better life
Fear: Conformity
Response to Dragon/Problem: Flee from it
Task: Be true to deeper self
Gift: Autonomy, ambition
Addictions: Independence, perfection
The Seeker seeks to find a better future or found a more perfect world. Seekers often feel confined and are therefore vulnerable to the call of the unknown. Wandering begins with rather aimless experimentation. Often, this experimentation alienates those around the Seeker and the Seeker is forced to give up his/her conventional life to wander and grow. Eventually, the Seeker finds h/er Grail and can create a new life of convention.

Shadow Seeker:
The Shadow Seekers manifests itself as an obsessive need to be independent that keeps us isolated and alone. Other times, the urge to seek will take destructive forms such as chemical addiction, or even to dangerous situations that produce adrenalin. Seeking is often dangerous. In a materialistic, secular society, the mountain to be scaled is often professional or vocational. Initially, channeling the urge to ascend into various kinds of achievement is very positive and healthy. Therefore, modern Seekers often find themselves seeking a high through their work, working an ever increasing amount of time to satisfy her/his needs.

I'm confused as to why you think there is any confusion.

Got creator, but then read redbaron's post...

Thanks Turniphead, interesting :)

Wondering why you think a wider variety of traits is more accurate than the current pattern that unfolds?

That's not what I think. I don't have any thoughts on the accuracy yet. Hence why I think it'd be interesting to see how much the results might vary when filtered in two opposing ways.

It seems as though you missed the important words throughout that phrase that highlighted my lack of conviction on the matter, and desire to gather more information:

redbaron said:

I also don't think that more varied is inherently more accurate, I'm simply building on the idea that a potential flaw in the way the test scales is responsible for so many similar results among different people.

If we attempt to normalize the test results by providing not only the highest result obtained, but also the highest result obtained relative to others who take the test, we might find the two results are very different. For example, four people might score creator overall, while they might have four different results when filtered in terms of their scores comparative to their peers.

That would probably result in a whole lot of interesting speculations and would beg the question of the, 'creator' archetypes usability as a categorical definer. As I said, I have no real opinion on anything related to this test yet - but it seems interesting enough that it could be fun to deconstruct it.

Confusion = not understanding

Its really not that big a jump.

you don't understand that cc did not imply an MBTI comparison but rather you just used his post to try and make your criticism of such a potential comparison seem like it wasn't completely redundant. only in your own head has that comparison/equation been given merit. don quixote.

please show me some of my many many strawman accusations and also why they're invalid. strawman is a very common fallacy, especially among borderline-idiot S-doms pretending to be brainy, such as yourself, scorpiomover, BAP, DIALECTIC and the late chad.
