You would disturb our blllaaccck and grey collloour sssschemes?

I'm afraid contrasts go well with intellect and discussion.

I mean, too bright seems whorish, too colourful would seem camp and half serious.

This way, we can state just how serious we are.

P.s, expect an admin to inform you that there are various styles of varying colours that can be swapped with the current one via your cp.

I vote green and purple.
And maybe a dark red every once and a while. It's all about the deep jewel tones.

No, it doesn't Fallenman, but you can always screw with the hue and have a all blue forum.

Ah. I must commend you for being the first one to bring this up in a style that doesn't provoke in me the desire to rip the intestines of live babies and feed them to their mothers before beheading them with blunt rusty spoons. Cheers. :cat:

I do wonder why people desire to destroy the uniqueness of this place, to sully its idiosyncratic self and turn it into just one of countless other mindless bland places. Why oh why must you need color here, having more than enough color elsewhere? From where does this tendency to uniformize, to flatten, come from? Notice that Western society views grey as the symbol of the oppressive impulse to demand conformity and upon encountering it the first reaction is to blast it with color. Wherever shall we find brooding grayness if we were to remove it from here?

Nay I say to ye! And may you enjoy dropping many soaps while in prison. :twisteddevil:

^^^ Consider it done. They all mostly suck though.

Beige, navy blue, deep/dark green, coffee/chocolate browns, grey, black and white.

Is an acceptable color palette.
Obviously all of it used at once would look terrible.

Actually, Cognisant, it wouldn't. No colour looks terrible with another if done with the proper measures, etc. But I guess it's also a matter of taste.

I swear there's some way of allowing forums to have multiple selected color schemes, I for one wouldn't mind a dark foresty theme, or a dark watery theme, just as long as it's dark. Not going to badger anyone into designing it though, If it sounds like it would take effort, don't bother.

there ARE other color schemes except they all suck / this one is the best.

the rest of the internet is like when you wake up at noon and it's too bright out, here, it's like night, or the inside of your room before you peek outside.

For the record, this is by far the best color scheme of any forum I've come across. This is mainly because I hate bright white backgrounds, so this one is easy on the eyes. That's not to say it couldn't be improved though. It would be nice to incorporate some dark blue or maybe slate green, so it's still easy on the eyes but not so gray.

Basically, this and this

Couldn't have said it better. black and blue is... bearable, would be nice to have a less-neon blue to write with, like the shade used for the control interface.

The number of 'Styles' ( the proper vBulletin term ) is low because whenever a plug-in is added to the forum or there is any other reason for editing, the results have to be duplicated across each Style. Doing it five times is normal, anything more is just excessive.

Personally, I think the Black and Gold and the Black and Blue are over-crude = flawed, whilst Woodland is too light but not flawed. There really aren't a lot of handsome themes out there, free or paid. The odd thing about our standard ( Russian ) Dark Castle is that it is basically classical and uncluttered and at the same time not boring; for some reason the designer avoided the trap of most black themes by making it actually legible. Many a website is ignored since the black then has tiny magenta lettering for a font that only an ant could read...
