Excellent! Now, have you decided if you are re-enlisting or not? I've been in the Army for eleven months now, yet I can't see myself continuing past the minimum of four years in service for a 14 series. Curious if the thought is echoed down the line.
I've already reenlisted once. I currently plan on remaining in until I find a decent job offer outside of the military. The reason I joined is because I was broke as hell, with no decent chance at a decent job, and I had a son to take care of. I'm not getting out just to be jobless and super-broke again.
Congratulations, SpaceYeti.
May I ask what made decide to join the military? I'm involved with someone who is enlisted, and I'm always just curious as to what makes people decide to join.
^ That thing I said up there. Fuck being a bad dad who cannot support his son.
You da bess Space Yeti.
I must ask though, aren't they sort of wasting your talents? What position/rank do you think would be optimal from a natural security point of view?
Natural Security? What do you mean by that?
Also, not really. My talents aren't really applicable to any job I'd have a realistic chance of getting. If they want me to play nerd games, they might find I'm talented at that, but I'm just as good at this job as I am any other. I'm good at figuring out how things work and operating in that environment, even if I may not like it all that much. In fact, I apparently have a talent for leadership in general and problem solving, so this is actually a pretty good job for me, by pure chance. I just... don't find it all that fun.
