XIII I don't know you that well but I can applaud your efforts. I am impressed that you try to do it within a group that knows you by another persona, especially without the framework of assuming an alt as one does in an rpg or some such. I have done a similiar thing though the two worlds were seperate. I was very therapeutic to express another side of myself. I even tried to incorporate some of that persona into myself.

hes not doing it for us
This was in response to what?

Why do we have a this reflex to despise such personality crossovers?
I suppose it's simply unnatural (in its complete form). Also the "feeling" comes off as rather creepy, XIII having previously been so cold.
How would we feel if XIII came as an ENFP and switched to an INTP?

in response to a petition, and more importantly, complaints that he isnt believable with being ENFP. ill repost this because i feel it ought to stay:

somehow i dont see it being beneficial in any way if everyone is in on it. you might think youre clever (you in general) that you "figured it out", and naturally want to let everyone know, but i really think its just a bad idea.

I am so confused. Can we just lay everything out on the table? XIII is doing an experiment right?

Well... I guess, if anything, you have proven how little attention some members paid to the process you have been speaking about and illustrating at every opportunity.

Rather despairing to observe such lack of thought....

But! Kudos to you and to everyone who actually realised what it is you're doing.

dundundundunnnn

What do you mean, 'beneficial'? For what/whom?

People are not pointing it out to prove their cleverness; they're pointing it out (I imagine) because it is an exceptionally strange situation. You can't very well expect people to skip off like nothing's happened.

How is sharing our thoughts a 'bad idea'?

If you're speaking in defense of the experiment, allow me to just say that XIII should have--and probably did--realize what s/he was getting into by joining a forum full of pessimistic analyzers. Obviously s/he came to the conclusion that talking about the experiment would not ruin it. Therefore, I think we're in the clear.

There is also a whole thread devoted to the experiment where XIII lays out (in brief) the whole experiment.

@slyguy: Your an insightful and valuable member; don't worry too much about it.

Nah, I didn't know either sly. I never check out the Hand Made Blogging section. Just saw the post.

Honestly, if the person is doing this in their daily interactions with others, I wager they'll get carted off to the loony bin when they hit their 10th personality or so.

hmm, it seems my wording was a bit ambiguous

the experiment by XIII is being done for his benefit alone. i am under the impression that this new persona is part of the overall experiment, but unrelated to any of the tarots. XIII stated himself that he didnt want to dwell on the ideas brought forth by his previous self, and to accept his wishes, the best thing we can do in my opinion is to treat this as an entirely different persona, instead of the previous one with a mask on. this is beneficial because it

avoids any potential conflict in the form of grave misunderstandings which may result in XIII's departure; something i dont want for personal reasons.

thats my main motivation for this whole thing. of course theres some other things that i just cant put into words (i.e. my gut feeling) that im just not going to bother translating into intelligible word. while some people may just never get it, i think we could all benefit by just observing, as opposed to sticking our fingers in XIII's pie, so to speak.

I like you as well Sapphire... most people react badly to happiness at first because it hurts that somebody else is happy and they seem like liars for it. Unhappy people believe, deep down, that unhappy is basically how humans are... anyway, the skepticism usually doesnt last. The best way to help others by happy is to be happy and understanding and forward... and not to believe that unhappiness is who they are... but still to recognise their feelings and not reject them. Most unhappy people (so most most people everywhere) don't express their hurting openly because they're so afraid that it will be rejected. They have all kind of stories they tell themselves and ways of making it seem like the whole universe makes them being unhappy the only way it could be... just as a way of dealing with their fear (which is with good reason)...

see loads of INTPs on here say that INTPs can't be happy but that's because lots of people who come to forums like these does it because people don't recognise or accept who they are in real life... and that's not a happy way to be. There are very happy and very motivated INTPs around but they don't think of themselvs in the same way as INTPs who think ''I'm and INTP so I can't be happy''.

I hope nobody minds if I post this in my hapiness thread as well. It might seem a little wierd so I'll wait for an answer before I do.

I think everyone ought take notice of what's happening here. Of all the things our community could find most difficult to embrace and readily accept...

...it would be happiness?

I mean, Melkor's on the edge of declaring a blood-feud with XIII... and lots of other reactions found it strange, at least...

If nothing else, I think there's something to be discovered here in our own reactions.

It's also kind of curious for me to find you eminently relatable now, XIII. It is unexpected of myself... In particular, I was thinking this thought, myself, for the first time just a couple days ago:

Your grammar is too good to be an ESFP and your goals are incompatible with an ENFP's. Sort it out.

:) Like I said I really just took the test and posted the thing because this is a forum about it, but I don't know if I got it right or anything. Maybe I'll take the test again to see if I get a distant result... but it's really hard for me to be objective most of the time. Anyway I've taken it down because you think its wrong... I think maybe I'll leave it down because I care way more about helping people than about what type I should be. People might not listen to what I say if they think that I don't understan dthem just because I'm not an INTP, even though my whole life is about understanding people's pain and helping them out of it... no matter if they're INTP or not

It doesn't matter what personality type you are. I appreciate whatever you have to want to share. I think people get too caught up with letters and personality thinktank... you miss out.
