Nah, He'll grow up and get his own home and IP, after he makes it that far we'll hope he's either grown up or found another way to boost his ego, not before. I was going to ask him what was with the "I have a new avatar" thing? I mean, yeah he wanted attention, but... talking about your new avatar? in someone else's intro thread? WTH?

way too many words

economy.......economy

if it takes that many words you don't know what you're saying - you're just trying to convince yourself

why?
That's interesting. I don't think I've heard someone say that before.

I tend to ramble. I try not to, but it does get the better of me. I believe it's in part because I'm always thinking about things, and analyzing. My current thoughts usually find their way into whatever it is I'm doing because of this, and I analyze outloud, causing me to ramble.

I have to re-read what I type a bunch of times to make sure I didn't include something redundant or pointless, and ensure I'm conveyed perfectly what I want to, and even then it comes out wrong.

I shall add that while reading this thread, it was the first time while being on this forum, I personally felt offended.

im hoping its only a timeban? perma-ban seems kind of harsh seeing as how he a little kid and all :X

Life is harsh. You think that a couple of days/weeks/months would reform his behaviour? Unlikely.

Age only works as an excuse for so long and he was making no attempt to reconcile himself. He was given a clear warning (which he mocked) and has received more than enough leniency.

*Enthusiastic Applause*

Precisely.

I also find it odd how it only requires one admin to drop the hammerstorm :X

The entire mod team has been discussing his case for several weeks now. He's been warned before. This is not a whim, but something that has been long coming, as the other mods will surely be happy to tell you.

Who might the perpetrator have been?

I must confess, I am very desensitized to things, and when I put aside all tact, I glaze over a lot, perhaps even uncharacteristically. For what it might be worth, if I offended you, I apologize. It was not my intention.

Welcome.

It is my opinion that many areas/aspects of life/society would suffer greatly without feeling types. And I would never think that such types are incapable of logic (or that thinking types are uber-logical). However, I can understand why someone may feel such types are useless to them, though a closer look may proven even that to be false. I suppose I have often wished that people were useless to me, but alas, I don't really know how to build many of the things I use. Plus, people are sometimes just so damned charming, though I don't expect you to agree. :)

As for your desire to meet female INTPs, I don't see the problem with that, and I wish you luck. Though, you may find that difficult given how this place is mostly against using the forum for anything similar to a dating site. The mere mentioning of related topics has been known to cause much weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth from various members. But, yeah, good luck.

It seems you may have been unfairly greeted, though it's possible you really are an abominable creature and I'm just being naive while you rip my head off or something (I think that's what happens), in which case get fucked/banned (in that order). Otherwise, have a nice day/life and I'll offer you this delightful bird as consolation.

Wait, that's a bird? I saw a man in a blue robe. The beak was his hand. He is a large man. A king or something.

It's a bird, though? Whoa.

Thanks for the welcome. You're right that feeling types are important to the world as it is, but if they were to all die, and we were forced to change, I believe it would be for the better.

Imrinfected, welcome :)

I like the manner in which you post/discuss.
I find it strange that you don't have any sexual desires. I envy you. If rationality/logic is the assets you value the most, sexual desires will only act as a deadly advisory.
I am not too well versed in the philosophy of satanism, but I would presume you would find some of their ideas highly appealing judging from your OP.

Ashitaria banned?
That was about time. This cause for a celebration!:)

Ashitaria had the facts on his side in that argument. I condemn the results of his style of arguing but not what he said or how he said it. Although I am strangely confused as to why Ashitaria was hated for his "ego" and immaturity when this thread started out with the pointing out of the OPoster's ego, his limited understanding of the real world's multiple faces and his inherent lack of some of the main traits that are constituent of a healthy INTP or any person for that matter.

You have won that argument because Ashitaria had not been patient enough. He mistakenly believed that you would at least see part of what most of the INTP forum was saying in the first page as soon as facts and much more experience had been aligned simply to help begin your first steps on a more balanced worldview. Ash had succumbed to frustration, something I know I would have done as well, except I would have realised there was no ground to gain there yet and made my retreat. Ash decide it was better to keep on butting heads, which I assume would usually work better in real life for him. INTPforums isn't real life, which is why it is a haven for us who need a different sort of connection with numbers of people than we get in real life.

Oh, and welcome. I believe that you will like it here :twisteddevil:

Imrinfected,

As I was reading your OP and you subsequent posts, I could help but to think that you yourself are more than just a bit immature.

And while on the surface your logic seems pure and wonderful and very clear, undeneath it is very much flawed and very much uninformed.

Do youself two favors
1) Grow up. You are not half as smart as you think you are.
2) Climb down from that ivory tower, step away from the computer and try taking a walk among the great unwashed masses. You never know, you just might learn something.

Why is it on an INTP forum he is being critizised for saying he is smart. If it is true there is no foul. Apparently there a virtually no people on the earth who can't escape their own bias for even an instant.

he isn't being criticised for calling himself smart. I am mainly criticising him because he quite obviously is assured of his intellectual superiority (yet his facts in his arguments and his uses of them have largely appeared limited or faulty) and his resultant disrespect of many things he lacks such as F. His blatant dismissal of an entire aspect of humanity I could not just let go. Although me criticising him doesn't mean I got something against him (he seems pretty cool apart from that and the INTP cognitive functions rut he fell into. Adymus explained it earlier <_< )

Imrinfected: You seem like you either have some room for growth or I'm misinterpreting things that have been said. I may decide not to post this at all. :p

First off: Have you ever been around some healthy Fs before? Some of the smartest people I know, in no particular order, are INFPs and ENFJs. I've felt like throughout the thread (though you've acknowledged that stupid Ts exist) you've been boosting a T superiority complex.

The ENFJ is supposed to have inferior Ti but the two I know have very strong logic skills. (All of us are between the ages of 15-19) Being the musician I am, I have to disagree that Fe is useless. Music would not exist without it. Though I don't know how you feel about losing it, I would lose a sense of purpose because music is the only thing I never burned out on. A lot of Ts would agree as well because it has logical aspects to it. (Music theory in general)

Another question: Would you personally rather be thinking about plans for new things and be coming up with new ideas or would you rather be building stuff that already exists (like making people sandwiches)? Almost all Ts would rather be coming up with ideas. This has been pointed out before but in a room of Ts nothing really gets done because we either get excited talking about new plans or we're arguing about a better way to do it.

I don't know if anyone can back me up on this but I believe stupid Ts are the worst because they think they are right because they have logically backed up their argument and (in my experience) are less likely to say "Oh wait you're right" until they've stopped and had time to think about it and realized they were wrong. Even then though, they will think because they thought about it that they were not wrong, just misinformed. I believe you are misinformed about feeling types, but I may be misinformed about what you mean.:D

You said in one post that Thinkers are not hesitant and I disagree. I know I'm extremely hesitant and so are a lot of other members I'm sure. We are hesitant because we are considering all the options. You mentioned reading over your posts to make sure you aren't redundant, that's a hesitant move. What if you didn't have time to do so? You'd have to rely on your Fe to communicate what you want as I'm doing now because I have to get off soon.

You also said that it's easier for Ts to realize that they suck with emotions and develop them then it is for Fs to realize they suck logically (I believe this is a better word than intellectually) and develop their logic. I disagree with this as well. As I mentioned my ENFJ friend has developed her Ti because if I understand correctly, healthily, they love to be there and support people. Since Ts are out there, they can/do see that they need to develop their logic and are more driven to do so then a T that sees Fs is. It's a whole lot easier (in my experience) for a T to say "Psh their being illogical and not making sense" and ignore emotional types (or deem them useless and thus not develop their F side) then it is for an F to go "Psh you are heartless" and ignore logic (thus not developing their thinking side) but since Thinkers are valued in society (scholarships are my example for this, we pay smart people to get smarter) and Fs in general like to relate to people (I think), they are more likely to see their weakness then a T is. In other words, an undeveloped T is more common. (and that was a huge run on sentence )

Logic doesn't always create the best solution either because you can make anything logical. For example, Ash's dinosaur argument with you. He had a logical point in that the dinosaurs survived and did well for years. You had a logical point as well, they were crushed by a meteor and are no longer here. It's too logical sides to the argument. Am I making sense?

Ugh I'm rambling I can tell. I'll shut up now and see how you answer me. :) Oh and welcome to the forum. ;)

Edit: I like smileys and I'm too lazy to find your quotes and stuff. I hope that's alright.

AHEMMMMMMMM. Seriously? A lone meteor is extremely unlikely to have killed all the dinosaurs, even with the ash clouds afterwards. There were also thought to have been extraneous environmental circumstances adding on to the hundreds of massively environmentally damaging effects of a meteor.

If what happened to the dinosaurs happened to humans, we would almost be brought to extinction. If the effects lasted several generations, I doubt that we could call the resulting beings as entirely human. So in a way we would die out, along with massive swathes of our civilisations and cultures. The remaining parts would probably be drastically changed. And the environment following such a disaster would be very different from today.

I was only restating what the argument was. The point of that side was that the dinosaurs are dead, not how it happened. You are right though. His other point though was that if they had been smart enough, the dinosaurs would have survived. I wasn't trying to start a debate about who was right, just that it's possible to make both sides logical.

Edit: I didn't put what the argument actually was, Ash's point was that the dinos dominated through brute strength so intelligence wasn't what decided who dominated but Imrin's point was that they wouldn't be dead if they had been intelligent so it does decide because what didn't die was what was intelligent enough to survive. Both sides are logical.

Yeah but we knew that dinosaurs had been at the top of the food chain for hundreds of millions of years. Dismissing all that because a "meteor crushed them" really isn't doing them in the same class as "they were the top dogs for an unimaginably long time." I mean we are talking about a race that had survived several events which which would have almost wiped out humanity several times. Its not like they just fell over and died the first time something like an apocalypse scenario played out. (To be fair ancestral humanity was almost extinct several times, but the events that caused those instances were pretty pussy compared to what the dinosaurs braved.)

You just can't say that dying because of an uncontrollable apocalypse makes an entire species evolutionary shit which is what was implied. Ash's argument was just far better in that instance. (I forgot why I am doing this but I am pretty sure it had something to do with Ash's argument being better in that case and that you weren't doing a proper recount of the argument D: )

You're right in that Ash's argument was better. That was a bad example. I don't even remember how I came to that in the first place.
