I'm starting this thread for three reasons.

1) I would love to find more titles out there to watch :D
2) I'm interesting in what you have to say about the movie/series/video
3) I tried to make the category more broad to encourage talk and discussion about the choices that people post.

Thanks :)

Great and Memorable Series
House (season 5, not telling which episode; will call the people talking 1 and 2).

1: What now?
2: I stay here with you.
1: Get off the bus.
2: I can't.
1: Why not?
2: Because, because it doesn't hurt here. And I... I don't want to be in pain, I don't want to be miserable, and I don't want him to hate me.
1: Well, you can't always get what you want.

Dexter.

It has been out for 3 seasons now. In my opinion, the first season was the best, but the other two were fantastic as well.

If you aren't familiar with it, it is about a serial killer who is just trying to find his place in the world.

@Crimson_Knight: I love the show House. So many memorable moments from that show. One that comes to mind is the when he put a patients blood sample somewhere that his staff found and testing thought he had a terminal disease

@Jarred: Dexter is awesome. One of my favorite parts was in the second season with Doakes and Dexter in the shack.

I find Grey's Anatomy so incredibly painful to watch. It's so emotional, it seems like a show perfect for Fs.

Dexter is an excellant programme

heroes got too cliche for me to enjoy it. it just seemed that "save the world" plotline kept getting recycled.

I personally enjoy scrubs. its emotionally light, and the humor is witty

I've been watching dvds of several HBO series. I really liked The Wire. I also like Deadwood, Rome and for a reasons I can't explain, Big Love.

Dexter is soon to come. Right now I just started Carnivale. Has anyone seen it?

I recommend "Sons of Anarchy" on FX, It's in hiatus right now, but it will be returning soon.

I agree that "Grey's Anatomy" is cringe-worthy.

I like non-episodic shows with strong plots and complicated characters. By far the two best shows I've seen are Lost and Breaking Bad.

Dexter is a good show, but nothing spectacular. Rome is also great. Heroes is horrible.

Heroes should have never gone with the "save the world" plotline, it's a cliché.
It is probably the most clichéd, cliché of all clichés.

Actually, I could've accepted the 'save the world' plotline, but what really bothers me is after they've saved the world from insert evil here, everything goes back to normal with a few characters dying. I mean come on! You're superheroes/villains! Change the world a little!

I liked Generation Kill.
It was only seven episodes but everything about it seemed realistic and it never glorifyed the war and millitary as most movies/tv-shows do.
It was funny and tragic, sometimes it was hard to watch but it was so facinating and gave me a insight to the war in Iraq that I never had before.

I've seen Carnivále, it's awesome. The plot is great and in the end it'll leave you the "complete though uncomplete" feeling which I really love. The characters are interesting and the soundtrack is really good. I could tell more about the series but don't want to spoiler.

I find "Fringe" annoying, "House" enjoyable, "The Mentalist" and "Bones" entertaining. I also enjoy "Jeopardy," at least partly because I'm consoled by how many answers I get right in subjects where I don't consider myself competent.
But all things considered I'd still rather read a book. Even in Philadelphia.

Ahhhhh I've been meaning to watch Carnivale, the art/style of it looks incredible.

I recently watched Hunger, it was overwhelming, just, the subject matter itself and the way in which it was filmed. Gorgeous. Terrifying. I highly recommend it, it's on Netflix streaming for anyone who's interested.

The Flowers of War.

Excellent, new movie with Christian Bale...The entire film takes place in a China, in some Catholic church, with the lead actor holding fort, accompanied by a bunch of schoolgirls and a bunch of prostitutes.

NO, this is not the premise for some sick Asian fetish video...This happens to be a extremely high quality movie with particularly original storyline, and some bang-up acting...

Definitely a must-see for the demanding/discerning film-goer...But, very difficult to watch in parts, because the film exposes the horrific abuses endured by the Chinese citizens by the Japanese servicemen during WWII.

Heroes was good initially, then declined and the BBC axed it.
Lie to Me was OK when I used to watch it. I was hooked at one point.
Doctor Who is awfully annoying to watch.

Thoughtful yet relaxing :
House
Game of thrones (only seen up to s2, read halfway into the fifth book. Song of Ice and Fire : Books are GREAT, but only if you enjoy reading, as they are LONG and often slow paced.)
Fringe (only seen up to season 3)
Dexter (haven't seen all the seasons)
spartacus (The gore, the fact that they enjoy killing off half the cast every single season, the insanity, the sex, and the plot is still good between the fighting and sex.)

Mindless & relaxing :
Numb3rs
Bones (goes into overkill in the latest seasons, dropped out)
ncis
csi
blabla
most comedy shows (big bang theory, how i met your mother, would I lie to you, etc.)
-24 (How does he manage to kill so many people and be in so many places, saving the world and america so many times in 24 hours?!)

Films :
Personally I think everyone should have seen the first three Hannibal lecter films and se7en. (Thrillers). The 4th Hannibal lecter film is about his youth and it's rather pathetic.
